Book Quantum Group Symmetry and Q tensor Algebras

Download or read book Quantum Group Symmetry and Q tensor Algebras written by L. C. Biedenharn and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1995 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Quantum groups are a generalization of the classical Lie groups and Lie algebras and provide a natural extension of the concept of symmetry fundamental to physics. This monograph is a survey of the major developments in quantum groups, using an original approach based on the fundamental concept of a tensor operator. Using this concept, properties of both the algebra and co-algebra are developed from a single uniform point of view, which is especially helpful for understanding the noncommuting co-ordinates of the quantum plane, which we interpret as elementary tensor operators. Representations of the q-deformed angular momentum group are discussed, including the case where q is a root of unity, and general results are obtained for all unitary quantum groups using the method of algebraic induction. Tensor operators are defined and discussed with examples, and a systematic treatment of the important (3j) series of operators is developed in detail. This book is a good reference for graduate students in physics and mathematics.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With applications in quantum field theory, general relativity and elementary particle physics, this three-volume work studies the invariance of differential operators under Lie algebras, quantum groups and superalgebras. This second volume covers quantum groups in their two main manifestations: quantum algebras and matrix quantum groups. The exposition covers both the general aspects of these and a great variety of concrete explicitly presented examples. The invariant q-difference operators are introduced mainly using representations of quantum algebras on their dual matrix quantum groups as carrier spaces. This is the first book that covers the title matter applied to quantum groups. Book Quantum Bounded Symmetric Domains

Download or read book Quantum Bounded Symmetric Domains written by Leonid Lʹvovych Vaksman and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2010 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Explores the basic theory of quantum bounded symmetric domains. The area became active in the late 1990s at a junction of noncommutative complex analysis and extensively developing theory of quantum groups. In a surprising advance of the theory of quantum bounded symmetric domains, it turned out that many classical problems admit elegant quantum analogs. Some of those are expounded in the book.

Book Tensor Categories

    Book Details:
  • Author : Pavel Etingof
  • Publisher : American Mathematical Soc.
  • Release : 2016-08-05
  • ISBN : 1470434415
  • Pages : 362 pages

Download or read book Tensor Categories written by Pavel Etingof and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2016-08-05 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is there a vector space whose dimension is the golden ratio? Of course not—the golden ratio is not an integer! But this can happen for generalizations of vector spaces—objects of a tensor category. The theory of tensor categories is a relatively new field of mathematics that generalizes the theory of group representations. It has deep connections with many other fields, including representation theory, Hopf algebras, operator algebras, low-dimensional topology (in particular, knot theory), homotopy theory, quantum mechanics and field theory, quantum computation, theory of motives, etc. This book gives a systematic introduction to this theory and a review of its applications. While giving a detailed overview of general tensor categories, it focuses especially on the theory of finite tensor categories and fusion categories (in particular, braided and modular ones), and discusses the main results about them with proofs. In particular, it shows how the main properties of finite-dimensional Hopf algebras may be derived from the theory of tensor categories. Many important results are presented as a sequence of exercises, which makes the book valuable for students and suitable for graduate courses. Many applications, connections to other areas, additional results, and references are discussed at the end of each chapter.

Book Unitary Symmetry And Combinatorics

Download or read book Unitary Symmetry And Combinatorics written by James D Louck and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2008-09-01 with total page 642 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph integrates unitary symmetry and combinatorics, showing in great detail how the coupling of angular momenta in quantum mechanics is related to binary trees, trivalent trees, cubic graphs, MacMahon's master theorem, and other basic combinatorial concepts. A comprehensive theory of recoupling matrices for quantum angular momentum is developed. For the general unitary group, polynomial forms in many variables called matrix Schur functions have the remarkable property of giving all irreducible representations of the general unitary group and are the basic objects of study. The structure of these irreducible polynomials and the reduction of their Kronecker product is developed in detail, as is the theory of tensor operators.

Book Finite Dimensional Algebras and Quantum Groups

Download or read book Finite Dimensional Algebras and Quantum Groups written by Bangming Deng and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2008 with total page 790 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The interplay between finite dimensional algebras and Lie theory dates back many years. In more recent times, these interrelations have become even more strikingly apparent. This text combines, for the first time in book form, the theories of finite dimensional algebras and quantum groups. More precisely, it investigates the Ringel-Hall algebra realization for the positive part of a quantum enveloping algebra associated with a symmetrizable Cartan matrix and it looks closely at the Beilinson-Lusztig-MacPherson realization for the entire quantum $\mathfrak{gl}_n$. The book begins with the two realizations of generalized Cartan matrices, namely, the graph realization and the root datum realization. From there, it develops the representation theory of quivers with automorphisms and the theory of quantum enveloping algebras associated with Kac-Moody Lie algebras. These two independent theories eventually meet in Part 4, under the umbrella of Ringel-Hall algebras. Cartan matrices can also be used to define an important class of groups--Coxeter groups--and their associated Hecke algebras. Hecke algebras associated with symmetric groups give rise to an interesting class of quasi-hereditary algebras, the quantum Schur algebras. The structure of these finite dimensional algebras is used in Part 5 to build the entire quantum $\mathfrak{gl}_n$ through a completion process of a limit algebra (the Beilinson-Lusztig-MacPherson algebra). The book is suitable for advanced graduate students. Each chapter concludes with a series of exercises, ranging from the routine to sketches of proofs of recent results from the current literature."--Publisher's website.
