Book How to Survive Peer Pressure

Download or read book How to Survive Peer Pressure written by Dueep Jyot Singh and published by Mendon Cottage Books. This book was released on 2015-09-07 with total page 55 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Table of Contents Introduction Keeping up with the Joneses Psychological Implications of Peer Pressure Inculcating Moral Values Competition Repercussions of Peer Pressure Channelizing Competitiveness Interaction with Peers Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction This book is going to give you an introduction to peer pressure and what a great influence it has upon our lives. It has a number of anecdotes and real-life incidents related to my family, my classmates, and my colleagues. All of the incidents are real, even though they may seem very weird, and over the top! But that is what real life is like, most of the time! This book also has lots of inside knowledge about how peer pressure can influence you, and perhaps set the path on how you are going to behave for the rest of your life. For millenniums, man being a social animal has always felt an instinctive need to “fit in” with his comrades and the people around him. He would prefer being ordinary and run of the mill, as long as his friends, relatives and acquaintances accept him as one of them. However, any unusual behavior is going to isolate him from them. So this instinctive need to fit in with the crowd, will make a person get influenced by a group, individuals, or observers. This influence is going to be exerted on you consciously or subconsciously. It means that you are going to change your behavior, value, and even attitude in order to conform to your peer groups or to fit in with society. This sort of conforming begins in childhood itself. Just imagine a little child looking at another child’s clothes in the park or in the playground. He is too little to understand the meaning of possession but he thinks that he does not have something which the other child has. So he tells his parents that he wants that item.

Book Non Newtonian Fluid Mechanics

Download or read book Non Newtonian Fluid Mechanics written by G. Böhme and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is for use in technical universities, and for practising engineers who are involved with flow problems of non-Newtonian fluids. The treatment of the subject is based throughout on continuum mechanics model concepts and methods. Because in Non-Newtonian fluids the material properties operating depend critically on the kinematics of the flow, special attention is paid to the derivation and explanation of the adequate constitutive equations used. The book can be read without reference to other sources. It begins by considering some general principles of continuum mechanics, studies simple motions (steady and unsteady shear flows) and proceeds by degrees to kinematically more complex motions. Problems of various degrees of difficulty at the end of each chapter invite active participation by the reader. Numerous stimulating topics from the literature are considered in the book.

Book Fundamentals of Gas Reservoir Engineering

Download or read book Fundamentals of Gas Reservoir Engineering written by J. Hagoort and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1988-06-01 with total page 341 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gas reservoir engineering is the branch of reservoir engineering that deals exclusively with reservoirs of non-associated gas. The prime purpose of reservoir engineering is the formulation of development and production plans that will result in maximum recovery for a given set of economic, environmental and technical constraints. This is not a one-time activity but needs continual updating throughout the production life of a reservoir. The objective of this book is to bring together the fundamentals of gas reservoir engineering in a coherent and systematic manner. It is intended both for students who are new to the subject and practitioners, who may use this book as a reference and refresher. Each chapter can be read independently of the others and includes several, completely worked exercises. These exercises are an integral part of the book; they not only illustrate the theory but also show how to apply the theory to practical problems.Chapters 2, 3 and 4 are concerned with the basic physical properties of reservoirs and natural gas fluids, insofar as of relevance to gas reservoir engineering. Chapter 5 deals with the volumetric estimation of hydrocarbon fluids in-place and the recoverable hydrocarbon reserves of gas reservoirs. Chapter 6 presents the material balance method, a classic method for the analysis of reservoir performance based on the Law of Conservation of Mass. Chapters 7-10 discuss various aspects of the flow of natural gas in the reservoir and the wellbore: single phase flow in porous and permeable media; gaswell testing methods based on single-phase flow principles; the mechanics of gas flow in the wellbore; the problem of water coning, the production of water along with the gas in gas reservoirs with underlaying bottom water. Chapter 11 discusses natural depletion, the common development option for dry and wet gas reservoirs. The development of gas-condensate reservoirs by gas injection is treated in Chapter 12.Appendix A lists the commonly used units in gas reservoir engineering, along with their conversion factors. Appendix B includes some special physical and mathematical constants that are of particular interest in gas reservoir engineering. Finally, Appendix C contains the physical properties of some common natural-gas components.
