Download or read book Managing Psychic Abilities written by Mary Mueller Shutan and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2016-12-13 with total page 187 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Approximately 20% of the population is sensitive or in some way psychic. Being sensitive or psychic can allow you to understand the world in a way that most people can’t, and to see beyond what others are able to. But for many of you sensitivities are a burden, causing overwhelm or even physical ailments. Most information about psychic abilities on the market is aspirational, meaning that all of the books out there focused on “opening your third eye” or “becoming psychic” are not meant for the highly sensitive person. You don’t want to become more sensitive, you may in fact be holding on for dear life because you are overwhelmed, panicked, have issues with sleep, body pain, headaches, digestive issues, and constantly shifting emotions. Or you might be mildly sensitive, but still need skills to manage going to work, or want to know more about how to become more functional while still being sensitive in this world. Learn how psychic abilities and sensitivities develop, where you are on the spectrum of these abilities and sensitivities, and most importantly, the basic and intermediate skills and techniques needed to be healthier, more functional, and to feel in control of your sensitivities and psychic abilities, so that you can live in the world more joyfully again.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An unputdownable, thoroughly enjoyable, cozy mystery by USA Today Bestselling Author Renee George. Featuring an middle-aged heroine, strong friendships, and romance with a younger detective...oh, and a mystery that only this heroine's nose can sniff out. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My name is Nora Black, and I'm fifty-one-years young. At least that's what I tell myself, when I'm not having hot flashes, my knees don't hurt, and I can find my reading glasses. I’m also the proud owner of a salon called Scents & Scentsability in the small resort town of Garden Cove, where I make a cozy living selling handmade bath and beauty products. All in all, my life is pretty good. Except for one little glitch... Since my recent hysterectomy, where I died on the operating table, I’ve been experiencing what some might call paranormal activity. No, I don’t see dead people, but quite suddenly I’m triggered by scents that, in their wake, leave behind these vividly intense memories. Sometimes they’re unfocused and hazy, but there’s no doubt, they are very, very real. Know what else? They’re not my memories. It seems I've lost a uterus and gained a psychic gift. When my best friend's abusive boyfriend ends up dead after a fire, and she becomes the prime suspect, I end up a babysitter to her two teenagers while she's locked up in the clink. Add to that the handsome detective determined to stand in my way, my super sniffer’s newly acquired abilities and a rash of memories connected to the real criminal, and I find myself in a race to catch a killer before my best friend is tried for murder. ***** "Sense and Scent Ability by Renee George is a delightfully funny, smart, full of excitement, up-all-night fantastic read! This book was released on 1989-09-30 with total page 470 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As is made plain in the critical apparatus and editorial matter appended to the original German publication of Hussed's Ideas II, I this is a text with a history. It underwent revision after revision, spanning almost 20 years in one of the most fertile periods of the philosopher's life. The book owes its form to the work of many hands, and its unity is one that has been imposed on it. Yet there is nothing here that cannot be traced back to Hussed himself. Indeed, the final" clean copy" for publication, prepared by an assistant, was completely reviewed by the master three times and emended by him in detail on each occasion. Nevertheless, in the end the work was in fact not submitted for publication, and after Hussed's pen last touched the manuscript in 1928 it was set aside until posthumously edited and published by the Hussed-Archives in 1952. The story of the composition of Ideas II begins with the "pencil manuscript" of 1912. This is the ultimate textual source for both Ideas II and Ideas III. 2 It has been preserved as a folio of 84 sheets in very dense shorthand of the Gabelsberger system, written mostly with a pencil. It was composed by Hussed "in one stroke" immediately after the completion of I Edmund Husser!: Ideen zu einer reinen Phiinomenologie und phiinomenologischen Philosophie. Zweites Buch: Phiinomenologische Untersuchungen zur Konstitution. Edited by Marly Biemel. The Hague: Martinus NijhofT, 1952 (Husserliana IV).

Book excerpt: OPUS POSTSCRIPTUM differs from John O'Loughlin's official written oeuvre in that it is comprised of revised and reformatted weblogs from the author's site at spweblog.com and is therefore supplementary to the works which came to a head with 'The Yang and Anti-Yin Quartet' (2005). Most of the essay-like supernotes of the two books that constitute this estimable e-book were written during 2005-6, and are therefore amongst Mr O'Loughlin's most up-to-date projects, supplementing his ideological approach to philosophy with fresh ideas and new logical permutations.

Book excerpt: I fell in love with Emma Eckstein the moment I saw her from the fourth gallery of the Carl Theater, and this was also the night I met Sigmund Freud.” So goes the life, times, and loves of Dr. Jakob Sammelsohn, a fairly incurable romantic venturing optimistically through modern history. In this inventive and satiric tour de force, Joseph Skibell, award-winning author of A Blessing on the Moon, presents a picaresque novel of exile that could spring only from the imagination of a virtuoso.

Download or read book Queering the Border written by Emma Perez and published by Arte Publico Press. This book was released on 2022-11-30 with total page 171 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “You will never know how it feels to have brown skin and a Mexican name. You will never know what it is like to watch your mother struggle with white words.” In this collection of prose pieces, author and scholar Emma Perez explores the intersection of race, class, gender and sexuality. A Chicanx queer lesbian “who honors my mother and her plight within patriarchal institutions” that limit women’s choices and opportunities, Perez writes about issues—including sexual politics and power relations between Anglo and Hispanic men—that have impacted her Tejano family for generations. A historian by training, her work aims to decolonize the Southwest by uncovering voices from the past that validate multiple experiences. Essays reveal the influence of Gloria Anzaldua’s scholarship; recount the controversy surrounding artist Alma Lopez’s digital print, “Our Lady,” in which the Virgin of Guadalupe appears in a provocative bikini; and evaluate interviews with 25 LGBTQ people in the El Paso/Ciudad Juarez area to expose life on the border as a queer of color. This collection also includes short fiction and an epistolary love poem to the first feminist of the Americas, Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, or in this case, Sor Juanx. Bringing together the work of a noted Chicanx writer and academic, this volume reinforces the body of work by LGBTQ people of color dealing with racism and sexism, conquest and colonization, power and privilege, all with a particular emphasis on the Southwest borderlands.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: VALUATIONS OF A SOCIAL TRANSCENDENTALIST is the sequel to 'Alpha and Omega - Diabolic Beginning and Divine End' (2002) and, like that worthy e-book, it has been divided into several parts, viz. 'Revaluations', 'Valuations', and 'Transvaluations', which further advance the ideological philosophy of Social Transcendentalism in relation to the respective parts and their numerical spiralling through several cycles, as before. As regards the various modes of 'valuating', the only omission on my part is in regard to devaluating, which I, as a pro-godly individual, preferred not to categorically embrace, since it is manifestly diabolic.

Download or read book The Psychic Hold of Slavery written by Soyica Diggs Colbert and published by Rutgers University Press. This book was released on 2016-07-20 with total page 399 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What would it mean to “get over slavery”? Is such a thing possible? Is it even desirable? Should we perceive the psychic hold of slavery as a set of mental manacles that hold us back from imagining a postracist America? Or could the psychic hold of slavery be understood as a tool, helping us get a grip on the systemic racial inequalities and restricted liberties that persist in the present day? Featuring original essays from an array of established and emerging scholars in the interdisciplinary field of African American studies, The Psychic Hold of Slavery offers a nuanced dialogue upon these questions. With a painful awareness that our understanding of the past informs our understanding of the present—and vice versa—the contributors place slavery’s historical legacies in conversation with twenty-first-century manifestations of antiblack violence, dehumanization, and social death. Through an exploration of film, drama, fiction, performance art, graphic novels, and philosophical discourse, this volume considers how artists grapple with questions of representation, as they ask whether slavery can ever be accurately depicted, trace the scars that slavery has left on a traumatized body politic, or debate how to best convey that black lives matter. The Psychic Hold of Slavery thus raises provocative questions about how we behold the historically distinct event of African diasporic enslavement and how we might hold off the transhistorical force of antiblack domination.
