Book Antichrist and the End Times

Download or read book Antichrist and the End Times written by Rev. Joseph Iannuzzi and published by . This book was released on with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Perhaps no Christian prophecy carries with it the drama and intrigue than that of the coming of the Antichrist, history’s quintessential demonic tyrant. His brief but terrible reign is to come at the climax of a spiritually dark age in man’s history. Indeed, the 20th century alone saw three popes comment on the appearance and rise of the Antichrist—Pius X, Paul VI and John Paul II—fueling speculation that his reign was near. Today, as the world sinks deeper into moral depravity and intellectual confusion, talk of the Antichrist’s rise again fills the air. Christian leaders believe this is because the signs of his coming—heresy, apostasy, and iniquity—have reached unparalleled levels. So is the coming of the Antichrist right around the corner? In this powerful book, Antichrist and the End Times, Fr. Joseph Iannuzzi takes a hard look at this prophecy, its history, and the conditions necessary to bring about its fulfillment, offering readers a unique glimpse at an eschatological mystery rooted in the Book of Revelation. This is a book you won’t be able to put down!

Revolt cf the Netherlands heretic was to be excluded from both earth and heaven. The decree caused terror and wrath among the people. Nothing else was talked about in the streets, in the homes, at funerals, at weddings. And little by little the sentiment prevailed that it would be better to fall with arms in hand, in battle, than to be tortured and butchered by the Inquisition. The war of independence followed, in which William of Orange became the father and savior of his country, after a long and heroic struggle. The war of extermination waged against Massacre heretics in France is another evidence of the jf?" true nature of the great church of the world. From the first day the Protestants began to multiply in France, the Jesuits prevailed upon the government to persecute them. But the Protestants had influential defenders, such as Admiral Coligny, Prince Conde, and others, and these led their friends in armed conflicts, and for seventy years the country was the scene of bloodshed and all the outrages of a religious war. Catherine de Medici, a niece of Pope Clement VII, was one of the persecutors. She did not hesitate at the use of poison, or any other means of gaining her object. During the religious conflict, Protestants, we must admit, desecrated Catholic churches, destroyed paintings and images, levied contributions upon clergymen, and even murdered some of their tormentors. But the Catholic acts of revenge surpass even the most active imagination. We prefer not to recite the details. The great tragedy of this "war" is the massacre of St. Bartholomew, which was perpetrated as an attempt to exterminate Protestantism by one terrible blow. Charles IX, to satisfy the bloodthirst of Catharine de Medici, gave the command secretly. On the...

Book excerpt: This is an exciting time to be alive on planet earth! It is a time when many of the secrets of the universe will be revealed. When Evil Reignstakes you on a journey to Armageddon and names the world's power players who will carry out the end times' scenario. It tells you the who, what, where, when, and why and points the way to the future. For generations people have been guessing about the identity of the coming antichrist, but only Bible prophecy has accurately illuminated what's to come. Authors John and Katherine Ford have tied the antichrist's life and psychological profile to that of Adolf Hitler's. When this is augmented by scripture, logical deduction, research, historical data, and international politics, a timeline and clear country of origin emerge out of the tangle of prophecies, mysteries, and symbolism surrounding the antichrist. The dates presented may well fall within your lifetime. When Evil Reignsis a wake up call to all sedentary Christians, as well as to those who don't know Christ, a cry from the rooftops that the end is near. Exactly how imminent the tribulation is, is something that only God knows. But one thing is certain; we are living in the days When Evil Reigns.

Book The Antichrist and the Lollards Apocalypticism in Late Medieval and Reformation England

Download or read book The Antichrist and the Lollards Apocalypticism in Late Medieval and Reformation England written by Curtis V. Bostick and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2021-10-11 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study examines expectations of imminent judgment that energized reform movements in Late Medieval and Reformation Europe. It probes the apocalyptic vision of the Lollards, followers of the Oxford professor John Wycliff (1384). The Lollards repudiated the medieval church and established conventicles despite officially sanctioned prosecution. While exploring the full spectrum of late medieval apocalypticism, this work focuses on the diverse range of Wycliffite literature, political and religious treatises, sermons, biblical commentaries, including trial records, to reveal a dynamic strain of apocalyptic discourse. It shows that sixteenth-century English apocalypticism was fed by vibrant, indigenous Wycliffite well springs. The rhetoric of Lollard apocalypticism is analyzed and its effect on carriers and audiences is investigated, illuminating the rise of evil in church and society as perceived by the Lollards and their radical reform program.
