Book For Profit College Loans Ruined My American Dreams

Download or read book For Profit College Loans Ruined My American Dreams written by Ahmed Ceegaag and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2017-03-20 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book will be talking about for-profit college admissions and their professors revolutions in the future. I would like to stop discrimination from for-profit colleges. And what is happening to innocent students like me? They have ruined the American Dreams of young people such as new immigrants from African Union, African American minorities, and students who have studied at for-profit colleges. In this book, I am going to discuss the main problems of for-profit colleges. Why were they harmed by these for-profit colleges own student money or other problems? However, I am looking for a different idea, such as exchanging our current higher education system for a for-profit college charter system. While its true that our current for-profit schools offer a charming variety of courses with very convenient class times, they are typically unfriendly and inexperienced. For-profit college professors are not patient with their students. It was also true that there are many services available to students if they need help.

Book The Road to Ruin

Download or read book The Road to Ruin written by James Rickards and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2016-11-15 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The bestselling author of The Death of Money and Currency Wars reveals the global elites' dark effort to hide a coming catastrophe from investors in The Road to Ruin, now a National Bestseller. A drumbeat is sounding among the global elites. The signs of a worldwide financial meltdown are unmistakable. This time, the elites have an audacious plan to protect themselves from the fallout: hoarding cash now and locking down the global financial system when a crisis hits. Since 2014, international monetary agencies have been issuing warnings to a small group of finance ministers, banks, and private equity funds: the U.S. government’s cowardly choices not to prosecute J.P. Morgan and its ilk, and to bloat the economy with a $4 trillion injection of easy credit, are driving us headlong toward a cliff. As Rickards shows in this frightening, meticulously researched book, governments around the world have no compunction about conspiring against their citizens. They will have stockpiled hard assets when stock exchanges are closed, ATMs shut down, money market funds frozen, asset managers instructed not to sell securities, negative interest rates imposed, and cash withdrawals denied. If you want to plan for the risks ahead, you will need Rickards’s cutting-edge synthesis of behavioral economics, history, and complexity theory. It’s a guidebook to thinking smarter, acting faster, and living with the comforting knowledge that your wealth is secure. The global elites don’t want this book to exist. Their plan to herd us like sheep to the slaughter when a global crisis erupts—and, of course, to maintain their wealth—works only if we remain complacent and unaware. Thanks to The Road to Ruin, we don’t need to be. "If you are curious about what the financial Götterdämmerung might look like you’ve certainly come to the right place... Rickards believes -- and provides tantalizing snippets of private conversations with those who dwell in the very eye-in-the-pyramid -- that the current world monetary and financial system is on the verge of insolvency and that the world financial elites already have a successor system for which they are laying the groundwork." --Ralph Benko, Forbes

Book How to Ruin Your Life

Download or read book How to Ruin Your Life written by Ben Stein and published by ReadHowYouWant.com. This book was released on 2010-07 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How to Ruin Your Life is a powerful self-help tool in the form of a work of humor. It is sardonic advice, presented with tongue in cheek, explaining how people can ''ruin' their lives. The essays cover topics such as ''Convince Yourself That Youre All That Matters,' Think the Worst of Everyone,' ''Pour Salt on Those Wounds,' and ''You Can Change People.' Seriously, though, to anyone who reads this book, it is an earnest warning about falling into traps of self-destructive behavior that can ruin any man or womans life. More than that, it comprises 35 steps that - if read and understood - provide a road map to making life work in the most effective way possible. It is humor and self-help all in one, delivered by Ben Stein, a man who has witnessed more than his share of people who did ruin their lives - as well as those whose lives have been wildly successful.

Download or read book Health in Ruins written by César Ernesto Abadía-Barrero and published by Duke University Press. This book was released on 2022-09-09 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Health in Ruins César Ernesto Abadía-Barrero chronicles the story of El Materno—Colombia’s oldest maternity and neonatal health center and teaching hospital—over several decades as it faced constant threats of government shutdown. Using team-based and collaborative ethnography to analyze the social life of neoliberal health policy, Abadía-Barrero details the everyday dynamics around teaching, learning, and working in health care before, during, and after privatization. He argues that health care privatization is not only about defunding public hospitals; it also ruins rich traditions of medical care by denying or destroying ways of practicing medicine that challenge Western medicine. Despite radical cuts in funding and a corrupt and malfunctioning privatized system, El Materno’s professors, staff, and students continued to find ways to provide innovative, high-quality, and noncommodified health care. By tracking the violences, conflicts, hopes, and uncertainties that characterized the struggles to keep El Materno open, Abadía-Barrero demonstrates that any study of medical care needs to be embedded in larger political histories.
