  • Release : 2000
  • ISBN : 9812795685
  • Pages : 228 pages

Download or read book Subnuclear Physics written by Antonino Zichichi and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2000 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the Galvani Bicentenary Celebrations, the University of Bologna and its Academy of Sciences singled out subnuclear physics as the field of scientific research to be associated with this important event, as it would best illustrate, for the new generation of students, the challenge inherent in fundamental sciences. Subnuclear physics has represented, ever since it was born, the new frontiers of Galilean science. In his opening lecture delivered on the first day of the new academic year, Professor Antonino Zichichi analytically reviewed the basic conceptual developments and main discoveries achieved in subnuclear physics since its birth in the 20th century. Given the importance of this field of fundamental research, Professor Zichichi was invited to expand the contents of his lecture into a book, and the outcome is this volume.

Book Dark Matter in Astro and Particle Physics

Download or read book Dark Matter in Astro and Particle Physics written by H.V. Klapdor-Kleingrothaus and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 747 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dark matter in the Universe has become one of the most exciting and central fields of astrophysics, particle physics and cosmology. The lectures and talks in this book emphasize the experimental and theoretical status and perspectives of the ongoing search for dark matter, and the future potential of the field into the next millennium, stressing in particular the interplay between astro- and particle physics.

Book Multiparticle Dynamics Proceedings Of The Xxxii International Symposium

Download or read book Multiparticle Dynamics Proceedings Of The Xxxii International Symposium written by Alexey N Sissakian and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2003-07-14 with total page 469 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers a wide range of problems in elementary particle production physics — particle fluctuations and correlations, diffractive processes, soft and hard processes in quantum chromodynamics, heavy ion collisions, etc. Of the utmost importance are inclusion-theoretical papers devoted to the problems associated with high and even very high multiplicity particle production, making proposals for experiments at existing and forthcoming colliders of elementary particles.

Book Multiparticle Dynamics

    Book Details:
  • Author : V. Simák
  • Publisher : American Institute of Physics
  • Release : 2006-04-25
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 696 pages

Download or read book Multiparticle Dynamics written by V. Simák and published by American Institute of Physics. This book was released on 2006-04-25 with total page 696 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The ISMD 2005 conference reviewed and updated the theoretical and experimental understanding of multiparticle production in high energy collisions. About half of the papers discussed collisions of ultra-relativistic nuclei with recent results from RHIC. In addition, some intriguing results from HERA and Tevatron colliders were presented and future experiments were discussed as well. Following the ISMD conference, the Workshop on Particle Correlations and Femtoscopy was held for the first time. This new series of regular workshops presents a critical and thorough analysis of the latest results on particle interferometry in high energy heavy ion collisions. Thefocus on this rather narrow subject was stimulated by a wealth of new data arriving steadily from the RHIC and SPS experiments.
