This book was released on 1985 with total page 594 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The International Tribology Conference held in Tokyo marked the 30th Anniversary of the foundation of the Japan Society of Lubrication Engineers and was attended by researchers and engineers from many different countries. The topics covered ranged from basic surface characterization and contact problems to the new concept biotribology. The full texts of both the invited and contributed papers are published in this 3-volume proceedings. They also include all the papers presented at the three symposia which were held during the conference on Hydrodynamic Lubrication of Rough Surfaces, Wear Fundamentals, and Lubricant Additives. Together, they present the latest research results and report on the remarkable progress that has been made in the technology, research and development of tribology in recent years.
Download or read book Tribology of Miniature Systems written by Z. Rymuza and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1998-06-01 with total page 577 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The tribology of miniature systems is quite different from the tribology of large machinery. This is the first publication to cover on an academic level both the basic concepts of the tribology of miniature systems and some areas of its practical application. A comprehensive survey is given on the specific problems encountered in this field, providing a volume that will be useful in solving professional engineering problems in the fast growing field of precision engineering and microtechnology. The suitability of various materials and lubricants for the tribological systems in miniature mechanisms is discussed. The tribological properties and the friction and wear properties which occur in such systems are analysed. Specific lubrication problems are examined in detail; in particular, the use of special tribological coatings to solve many difficult lubrication problems and to obtain high wear resistance of the rubbing elements is considered. The special investigation techniques used to characterize miniature tribological systems and their elements (e.g. lubricants) are reviewed. The tribological aspects of many of the most common assemblies found in miniature mechanism and electromechanism design are analysed and some practical suggestions are put forward for the rational design of such systems. Also special tribological problems such as those met in computer technology, bioengineering, etc. are presented. The book is intended for tribologists (both seasoned researchers and newcomers) studying the problems of this specific branch of tribology and also for practising engineers active in the design, manufacture and exploitation of various miniature systems.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the second volume of a two-volume work which summarizes in an edited format and in a fairly comprehensive manner many of the recent technical research accomplishments in the area of Elastomers. “Advances in Elastomers” discusses the various attempts reported on solving these problems from the point of view of the chemistry and the structure of elastomers, highlighting the drawbacks and advantages of each method. It summarize the importance of elastomers and their multiphase systems in human life and industry, and covers all the topics related to recent advances in elastomers, their blends, IPNs, composites and nanocomposites. This second volume is deals with composites and nanocomposites of elastomers.

Download or read book Grease Lubrication in Rolling Bearings written by Piet M. Lugt and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-02-18 with total page 472 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The definitive book on the science of grease lubrication for roller and needle bearings in industrial and vehicle engineering. Grease Lubrication in Rolling Bearings provides an overview of the existing knowledge on the various aspects of grease lubrication (including lubrication systems) and the state of the art models that exist today. The book reviews the physical and chemical aspects of grease lubrication, primarily directed towards lubrication of rolling bearings. The first part of the book covers grease composition, properties and rheology, including thermal and dynamics properties. Later chapters cover the dynamics of greased bearings, including grease life, bearing life, reliability and testing. The final chapter covers lubrications systems – the systems that deliver grease to the components requiring lubrication. Grease Lubrication in Rolling Bearings: Describes the underlying physical and chemical properties of grease. Discusses the effect of load, speed, temperature, bearing geometry, bearing materials and grease type on bearing wear. Covers both bearing and grease performance, including thermo-mechanical ageing and testing methodologies. It is intended for researchers and engineers in the petro-chemical and bearing industry, industries related to this (e.g. wind turbine industry, automotive industry) and for application engineers. It will also be of interest for teaching in post-graduate courses.
