Book Modeling and Control of Static Converters for Hybrid Storage Systems

Download or read book Modeling and Control of Static Converters for Hybrid Storage Systems written by Fekik, Arezki and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2021-09-17 with total page 355 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The energy transition initiated in recent years has enabled the growing integration of renewable production into the energy mix. Microgrids make it possible to maximize the efficiency of energy transmission from source to consumer by bringing the latter together geographically and by reducing losses linked to transport. However, the lack of inertia and the micro-grid support system makes it weak, and energy storage is necessary to ensure its proper functioning. Current storage technologies do not make it possible to provide both a large capacity of energy and power at the same time. Hybrid storage is a solution that combines the advantages of several technologies and reduces their disadvantages. Modeling and Control of Static Converters for Hybrid Storage Systems covers the modeling, control theorems, and optimization techniques that solve many scientific problems for researchers in the field of power converter control for renewable energy hybrid storage and places particular emphasis on the modeling and control of static converters for hybrid storage systems. Covering topics ranging from energy storage to power generation, this book is ideal for automation engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, professionals, scientists, academicians, master's and doctoral students, and researchers in the disciplines of electrical and mechanical engineering.

Book Provenance in Data Science

Download or read book Provenance in Data Science written by Leslie F. Sikos and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-04-26 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: RDF-based knowledge graphs require additional formalisms to be fully context-aware, which is presented in this book. This book also provides a collection of provenance techniques and state-of-the-art metadata-enhanced, provenance-aware, knowledge graph-based representations across multiple application domains, in order to demonstrate how to combine graph-based data models and provenance representations. This is important to make statements authoritative, verifiable, and reproducible, such as in biomedical, pharmaceutical, and cybersecurity applications, where the data source and generator can be just as important as the data itself. Capturing provenance is critical to ensure sound experimental results and rigorously designed research studies for patient and drug safety, pathology reports, and medical evidence generation. Similarly, provenance is needed for cyberthreat intelligence dashboards and attack maps that aggregate and/or fuse heterogeneous data from disparate data sources to differentiate between unimportant online events and dangerous cyberattacks, which is demonstrated in this book. Without provenance, data reliability and trustworthiness might be limited, causing data reuse, trust, reproducibility and accountability issues. This book primarily targets researchers who utilize knowledge graphs in their methods and approaches (this includes researchers from a variety of domains, such as cybersecurity, eHealth, data science, Semantic Web, etc.). This book collects core facts for the state of the art in provenance approaches and techniques, complemented by a critical review of existing approaches. New research directions are also provided that combine data science and knowledge graphs, for an increasingly important research topic.

Book Uncertainty and Imprecision in Decision Making and Decision Support New Advances Challenges and Perspectives

Download or read book Uncertainty and Imprecision in Decision Making and Decision Support New Advances Challenges and Perspectives written by Krassimir T. Atanassov and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-10-20 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is composed of selected papers from two conferences held in Warsaw, Poland on October 13-15, 2022: the BOS/SOR’2022 - National Conference on Operational and Systems Research, one of premiere conferences in the field of operational and systems research, and the Twentith International Workshop on Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets and Generalized Nets, IWIFSGN-2022, one of premiere conferences on fuzzy logic, notably on extensions of the traditional fuzzy sets, also comprising a considerable part on the Generalized Nets (GNs). A joint publication of selected papers from the two conferences follows a long tradition of such a joint organization, and – from a substantial point of view – combines systems modeling, systems analysis, broadly perceived operational research, notably optimization, decision making and decision support, with various aspects of uncertain and imprecise information and their related tools and techniques.

Book Image Based and Fractional Order Control for Mechatronic Systems

Download or read book Image Based and Fractional Order Control for Mechatronic Systems written by Cosmin Copot and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-04-10 with total page 211 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book unites two fast-developing forms of control—vision-based control and fractional-order control—and applies them in mechatronic systems. Image-Based and Fractional-Order Control for Mechatronic Systems is presented in two parts covering the theory and applications of the subject matter. The theoretical material presents the concepts of visual servoing and image-based feature extraction for feedback loops and fractional-order control. It discusses a range of systems from the classic monocular camera to new RGB-D sensors. The applications part of the book first discusses practical issues with the implementation of fractional-order control, comparing them with more traditional integer-order PID systems. The authors then introduce real-life examples such as a manipulator robot and a Stewart platform and results generated from such systems. MATLAB® functions and source codes are included wherever relevant to help readers develop simulations based on the theoretical ideas and practical examples in the text. Suggestions for the use of other pertinent open-source software are also indicated with the places where such may be obtained. With its combination of theoretical ideas and practical examples, Image-Based and Fractional-Order Control for Mechatronic Systems will be of interest to academic researchers looking to develop the fields of vision-based and fractional-order control and to engineers who are looking for developments that will help them provide closer control of their plants than can be achieved with integer-order PID. Advances in Industrial Control reports and encourages the transfer of technology in control engineering. The rapid development of control technology has an impact on all areas of the control discipline. The series offers an opportunity for researchers to present an extended exposition of new work in all aspects of industrial control.
