Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Growing interest in the formulation of pressure-sensitive adhesives as described in the first edition of this book ( Pressure-Sensitive Formulation, VSP, 2000) required a new, enlarged edition including the design of pressure-sensitive adhesives as a separate volume. Developments in the understanding of pressure sensitivity were necessary to use ma

Book Rubber Nano Blends

Download or read book Rubber Nano Blends written by Gordana Markovic and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-11-25 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book summarizes the preparation, characterization and applications of rubber based nano blends. Rubbers from natural and synthetic polymers and their blends are discussed in the individual chapters, including nitrile, polyurethane, chlorosulphonated, polybutadiene, styrene butadiene, polychloroprene rubbers. In each chapter, contributors from academia and industry describe the preparation and characterization of the rubber blends. Therefore, a variety of characterization methods like tensile testing, differential scanning calorimetry, dynamical mechanical analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, electron microscopy, scattering and diffraction techniques, and rheology measurements are utilized. The authors evaluate the properties of the different materials and discuss numerous fields of application, ranging from biomedicine, packaging, coatings and automobile to aerospace.

Book Pressure Sensitive Formulation

Download or read book Pressure Sensitive Formulation written by Istvan Benedek and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-06-07 with total page 373 pages. Developments in the understanding of pressure sensitivity were necessary to use macromolecular chemistry for pressure-sensitive design. Such developments include polymer physics and contact mechanics. Progress in coating technology, especially in in-line coating- and synthesis, opened new ways for the design of pressure-sensitive adhesives and products as well. Actually, pressure-sensitive-products with and without adhesives compete requiring a broad variety of material formulations and the corresponding manufacturing technology. The first volume of the book examines the theoretical aspects of pressure-sensitive design, based on macromolecular chemistry, macromolecular physics, rheology and contact mechanics. The second volume describes the practical aspects of pressure-sensitive design and formulation, related to product application. The advances in the various domains are described by specialists.

Book The Structure of Modular Lattices of Width Four with Applications to Varieties of Lattices

Download or read book The Structure of Modular Lattices of Width Four with Applications to Varieties of Lattices written by Ralph S. Freese and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 1977 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A variety (equational class) of lattices is said to be finitely based if there exists a finite set of identities defining the variety. Let [capital script]M [infinity symbol] [over][subscript italic]n denote the lattice variety generated by all modular lattices of width not exceeding [subscript italic]n. [capital script]M [infinity symbol] [over]1 and [capital script]M [infinity symbol] [over]2 are both the class of all distributive lattices and consequently finitely based. B. Jónsson has shown that [capital script]M [infinity symbol] [over]3 is also finitely based. On the other hand, K. Baker has shown that [capital script]M [infinity symbol] [over][subscript italic]n is not finitely based for 5 [less than or equal to symbol] [italic]n [less than] [lowercase Greek]Omega. This paper settles the finite bases problem for [capital script]M [infinity symbol] [over]4.

Book Positive Definite Unimodular Lattices with Trivial Automorphism Groups

Download or read book Positive Definite Unimodular Lattices with Trivial Automorphism Groups written by Etsuko Bannai and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 1990 with total page 79 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The existence of lattices with trivial automorphism group was shown by O'Meara, who gave an algorithm to construct such a lattice starting from any given lattice. In this process, the discriminants of the lattices increase in each step. Biermann proved the existence of a lattice with trivial automorphism group in every genus of positive definite integral lattices of any dimension with sufficiently large discriminant. In his proof the fact that the discriminant is very large is crucial. We are, instead, interested in lattices with small discriminant.

Book A Lattice of Chapters of Mathematics Interpretations between Theorems

Download or read book A Lattice of Chapters of Mathematics Interpretations between Theorems written by Jan Mycielski and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 1990 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What are mathematical theories? What mathematical objects should correspond to this informal concept? The classical and most important answer to these questions is: Theories formalized in first order logic. But this answer has also some undesirable features. One of theme is the dependence of such theories upon the language or the choice of primitive concepts, whereas a slightly deeper view would identify theories interpretable in each other. The purpose of the present memoir is to investigate further, to survey the former work and to point out a number of open problems about local interpretability.
