Book Preliminary Proposals for Long Term Production Test Subsea Wellhead Completion System for Beaufort Sea

Download or read book Preliminary Proposals for Long Term Production Test Subsea Wellhead Completion System for Beaufort Sea written by Sii McEvoy and published by . This book was released on 1981 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Dome plans to undertake long-term production test for ... delineation wells and selected exploratory wells in the Beaufort Sea in 1982. The well will produce through a subsea tree and flexible riser to a floating vessel equipped with production processing and crude storage facilities during the open water season. Such subsea completions will be tied into any future satellite production systems and subsea manifold. This subsea tree, flexible riser and the associated control systems will be removed once the long term test is finished and used at other wells. The subsea completions is intended to be a universal system that can be used in conjunction with Vetco SG 18 3/8'' 10,000 PSI working pressure wellhead and can easily be adapted to different tubing sizes. This floating vessel, with the possible exception of a wireline unit, does not have any workover and well killing facilities. It is envisaged that a drillship will be used for these purposes. The testing period depends strongly on reservoir characteristics and is estimated to be longer than 2 weeks. ... [Dome intends] to complete one well by September 1981. ... These wells are in water depths ranging from 25 to 90 meters. Ice scour is expected in water depths less than 50 meters and a glory hole will be excavated to protect the wellhead and tree. ... In addition to the [above] telexed enquiry specification, the following details were noted. ... The main points were as follows: - 1. Tree would be run from a drill ship on a conventional guidance wire system. 2. The drill ship would be removed after installation of the Tree and a floating vessel would be positioned to connect riser and extract crude. 3. The floating vessel would probably not have a guidance wire system. 4. Dome Petroleum will supply riser guidance system and riser/tree interface. McEvoy to interface with 13.5/8" - 10,000 API flange face looking up with adjacent control line interface flange. 5. Valve block to contain two production master valves and vertical access through annulus line which would also contain two master valves. No wing valves, side outlets or swab valves required. 6. Because of number of control lines, tubing has to be orientating type but Dome Petroleum are also interested in McEvoy proposed sleeve type tubing hanger which would reduce size of tree and eliminate annulus line from riser. 7. Diver assistance should not be used unless absolutely necessary. 8. Dome Petroleum does not require information for subsea seabed connected production trees at present"--Canmar document.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This document was prepared in response to Dome Petroleum Limited's Tender No. CQ8132-1 and Mr. J.J. Kirk's letter of 07 August 1981, to SEDCO-Hamilton Production Services (SHPS) requesting a bid for the design of a subsea system for a long term production test of a single Beaufort Sea well. SHPS is pleased to present this proposal to Dome since the desired scope of work and project objectives are well within the technical experience and capabilities of SHPS. SHPS has been involved with other early production systems such as Petrobras Enchova II and is the only company with prior full field development experience utilizing FPF concepts and technology. SHPS was directly involved in the Hamilton Brothers' Argyll Field development project and the British Petroleum Buchan Field development project, both of which are operating successfully today. SHPS has also recently been involved in the Occidental North Claymore field development project as system designer and project manager. This project, however, was canceled due to the recent changes in the U.K. Petroleum Revenue Tax. Section 2.0 identifies details of SHPS company structure and past project involvements"--Leaf 1-1.

Book Oil Production and Loading Platfrom

Download or read book Oil Production and Loading Platfrom written by Tokola Offshore (Firm) and published by . This book was released on 1981 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Objectives of the study: 1. To produce a single satisfactory preliminary design for the production and loading platform; the design shall be carried out to the detail necessary to: (a) establish design, fabrication and functional feasibility of major structural and mechanical concept, components and systems; and, (b) permit preliminary cost estimating and scheduling for total implementation of the concept. 2. To perform a scope of work that, as far as proves to be practical and worthwhile, is consistent with the content and breakdown of work requested in Section 2.0 and 4.0 of Dome's "Call for Proposals". 3. To stay within, or close to Dome's budgetary estimate. 4. To complete the work within the pre-agreed study period. Regarding the scope of work to be performed, attention should also be given at this point in our proposal to the question of the number and range for alternate platform design concepts to be analyzed during Phase 1. Due to the limits on money and time, it will be necessary to limit the alternates considered. At present, we expect to consider only variations on the "Existing Production Platform Concept" described in Section 7.9 of the "Call for Proposals". We do not intent to initiate the study of basically different concepts, nor do we expect Dome to ask us to do so without appropriate changes in the total study work scope and/or expansion of the limits on budget and time. [The appendices contain background information on the proposal, company resumes, and commercial and corporate experience of the various companies included in the proposal]"--ASTIS database.

Book Satellite Tree for the Beaufort Sea

Download or read book Satellite Tree for the Beaufort Sea written by Vetco Offshore Inc and published by . This book was released on with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This proposal outlines Subsea Production trees tendered to Dome/CanMar for installation in the Beaufort Sea. Conventional subsea completions featuring both non TFL and TFL are proposed herein for subsea control of a presently drilled production well (called thereafter Well 79). The Vetco solutions for both Well 78 and 79 are summarized ... [below]. For the Well 78, which includes a 7" production casing equipped with a 5" linear, three solutions are proposed: - a 4" x 2" master valve block allowing the well to produce vertically through the completion riser. This solution allows the well to be put on stream most rapidly and offers a very low profile. - a 4" x 2" production tree allowing both production through the completion riser initially and then production to a subsea manifold, via sea bottom flowlines, - a 2" x 2"x 2" production tree allowing TFL servicing down to the subsurface safety valve. For the Well 79, the completion possible will depend on the production casing size: If the production casing is 5", a 3" x 2" non TFL completion is the only possible solution" --ASTIS [online] database.
