Book excerpt: Cette thèse a consisté à réaliser par ablation laser (PLD) des films d’oxydes en couches minces tels Ga2O3 et ITO dont les conditions de croissance et les propriétés ont été étudiées en regard des applications qu’ils suggèrent. En effet, Ga2O3 et ITO ne possèdent pas de cations à valence mixte et de sous-oxydes stables. Leurs propriétés sont directement dépendantes des conditions de croissance telles que la pression d’oxygène dans l’enceinte et de la puissance laser. Ainsi, des films soustoechiométriques d’oxyde de gallium Ga2OX, amorphes transparents et isolants, ou cristallisés absorbants et conducteurs ont été obtenus. Pour de fortes déficiences en oxygène (X ~ 2,3 pour l’oxyde de gallium et X ~ 2,4 pour l’ITO), ces composés sont hétérogènes et nanocomposites. Une séparation de phase, contrôlée par une forte soustoechiométrie et la cristallisation de l’oxyde, en est à l’origine. Elle conduit à la formation de clusters métalliques dans une matrice stoechiométrique cristallisée. Des mesures de résistivité, en fonction de la température ont montré une hystérésis caractéristique de la fusion et de la solidification des nanoparticules, associée à une transition supraconductrice à basse température. Les propriétés de transport de ces films associées à la présence de clusters dans une matrice isolante stoechiométrique pourraient faire l’objet d’applications comme la réalisation, sous atmosphère réductrice, de lignes conductrices dans des films homogènes. Dans ces conditions, l’enregistrement irréversible (stockage) de données par ce processus est envisageable

With the growth of the collection to over 70,000 documents and the increase in the demand for more general background information, it has been necessary to compile bibliographies on an increasing variety of subjects. These have been used as indexes to the microfilmed documents for more efficient searching, and in the past distributed in response to individual requests. However, their size and number no longer permit so casual and uneconomic a method of distribution. The "ORNL Solid State Physics Literature Guides" is a practical alternative. Organization The subject organization of the bibliography is given by the Table of Contents. Each section is preceded by a collection of reviews, bibliographies, and "general" papers (i.e., those dealing with methods or equipment rather than single materials, or with such a wide variety of materials that no subsection was appropriate). Coverage is generally from 1960 to mid-1970. Emphasis is on inorganic materials.
