Book An Ensemble of Thoughts Poetic Ramblings

Download or read book An Ensemble of Thoughts Poetic Ramblings written by Angus Callum and published by FriesenPress. This book was released on 2022-04-12 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inside this book are pages of free verse poetry, at least what I consider it as. You on the other hand may not feel the same way, but even though we do not know each other you and I must agree that life is viewed quite different, and the concept of life other than the general idea of course is perceived different depending on who you are. I would like to think that you may also agree with me that life isn't worth living without taking risks, cultivating relationships filled with love and capturing memories truly worth saving. That's the way life should be, the way it should go, but sadly sometimes it goes in the opposite direction. Life can be dark and quite cold. It can shut a person down and rip their soul in two, leaving them pondering everything in existence, even their own. We are all different, we like what we like, we are who we are, so in this case all I can say is that this is a project I had fun with creating, I hold it near and dear. Whatever you may gather from it is entirely up to you.

Book excerpt: There's no denying the years between high school and college can be like a pendulum for a teenage girl, swinging forcefully from good to bad and back again, akin to running an emotional gauntlet day in and day out. Even a novel may not be enough, always, to fully express everything in one's head or one's heart but this collection represents some of the most poignant moments in the author's young life. These poems are just snippets of experiences as comprehended and remarked on by a tumultuous and rambling young mind.Separated into sections centered on Love, Languish, Lament, Environment and Enlightenment, and a bonus section titled Laugh, each is arranged according to the chronological writing of each poem and highlighted by a personal favorite of the author."What a fantastic collection--each piece is a little gem!" - Goodreads review

Exploring themes common to the human experience, these poems leave the reader with an experience not easily forgotten since many times they hit close to home.Rick Stephen invites us to look into the mirror and examine our deepest feelings of desire, love and loss, ecstasy and pain, hope, disappointment and desperation.Honest, frank and often cathartic these poems bring the depth of the human condition to the surface. His unique style manages to capture what is often so difficult to express. It seems he writes about us and to us, transforming our life into a permanent memento of words or as the author calls them, “ramblings”. Beautiful, captivating and intriguing – as only a Poetic Fool can pen.
