Book Poems of Human Struggle and God S Love

Download or read book Poems of Human Struggle and God S Love written by Margaret Freeman and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2014-10-16 with total page 109 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Poems of Human Struggle and Gods Love, Margaret Freeman explores the theme of salvation: release from bondage to self-consciousness through the awakening of Christ-consciousness. She believes that this awakening to the glory of God is increasing on earth and she considers aspects of this through her poetry as she tells biblical and contemporary stories and shares personal revelation of the one who holds you dear. Freemans poetry gives voice to our insecurities, doubts and questions and the work of the spirit of Christ to awaken our own spirits to the fullness of the life God has for us, body and soul clothed in light and glory. Transfiguration Adam and Eve were naked; No shame they had to hide: Clothed in light and splendour, A delight to Gods eyes. Until Satan tempted them To believe his lie. He said God couldnt be trusted; Good things he withheld. He said they should seek out the truth The apple would reveal. And so through their own efforts They were bound to self-rule, To striving for perfection- All men became its fool. Their spirits now bound within the soul, And animal skins for clothing, They tried their best to work the soil As Satan stood by laughing. But God has not been outplayed; He came to earth, you see, To tell us he is the way For our spirits to be freed: Bound by grace to Truth and Light- Our transfiguration.

Book Poetic Stepping Stones of Faith

Download or read book Poetic Stepping Stones of Faith written by Brenda Greene and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-07-30 with total page 63 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Poetic Stepping-Stones Of Faith is a book of poetry written and created over three decades. It includes a variety of poems such as " The Beauty Of God", "Woman", "The Hands Of A Man" and "Stop This World" to name a few. The poems speak to the human experience and how that experience intersects and connects to Jesus Christ. From the beginning of time, words have been found to be a powerful element; that started with God speaking this universe into existence. Disagreements and more have occurred because of ill spoken words between people. However, the words of Poetic Stepping-Stones Of Faith are meant for the reader's enjoyment. It is the writer's belief that the poems will aid in connecting people with a thread of humanity that is common to all human beings. We all may have had experiences that bring joy, sadness, loss, etc. The poetry in the book is to help us get a greater glimpse of Jesus Chris and what He offers us as we live this life on earth. These poems reflect the day to day struggling, living, and overcoming to obtain the victory. Christ is ever near, standing by ready to give us that extra courage and energy to take that next leap to the stepping stone. Stepping Stones Of Faith is a book that reflects to us the encouragement of Christ when we feel overwhelmed whether we're a believer or unbeliever. I believe this book will lift the human spirit and impart the love of Jesus Christ through the poems. This book includes poems that relate to our past, expressions of our present, and hints related to our future. May all who read this book gain insights into the precious love that God has for all human beings; and. May people come to know a little more about the goodness of Christ through the reading of Poetic Stepping-Stones Of Faith!

Download or read book FAITH HOPE AND LOVE REMAIN written by Norman Hicks III and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-11-01 with total page 73 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Often we lose sight of the enormity of everything around us: the stars, the galaxies, nebulae, and the vastness of space in general. We need to appreciate the sobering beauty and magnificence that we have been afforded, as well as the experience of existing. Though we may not consider how all of these came about, we need to look beyond ourselves. Surely, something or someone is majestic enough to have brought this about. Many humans believe in a supreme force or being called God. We also attempt to honor Him through various religions. This book's focus is on Christianity. Christian virtues cover a lot of positive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors considered morally and spiritually correct for enhancing one's development. It may be debatable as to whether faith, hope, and love are virtues. Yet they are very significant in the lives of the followers of Jesus Christ. These three attributes remain just as important in the lives of people today as they were to people of past generations, and to the existence of people in subsequent generations. They complement human existence. It is hard to imagine their exclusion in the daily activities of human life. The poems in Faith, Hope, and Love Remain attempt to emphasize the importance of faith, hope, and love in coping with life as it relates to interacting with other people and with the fluctuating experiences of daily living, and the spiritual enhancement of the human-God relationship. I have included my own good and bad life experiences as testimony and my personal understanding of those experiences in a spiritual context. I pray that these poems bring you enjoyment, as well as peace and a degree of discernment. I hope they will motivate the desire to read The Holy Bible more and meditate on those scriptures.

Download or read book Little Flowers for God written by Joshua Elzner and published by Collected Poetry. This book was released on 2019-01-31 with total page 728 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "You are precious in my eyes, and beautiful, and I love you" (Is 43:4).In these words I touch upon the central theme of all that follows. What I have tried to express, from many different angles and in contact with many different struggles, desires, and sorrows of the human heart, is the encounter with God's loving and healing gaze. Indeed, the deepest desire of each one of us, which lies at the root of every other desire, is the thirst for intimacy. It is this thirst to which I have tried to speak in these poems. We bear deep within us an insatiable yearning to be seen, known, and loved as we really are--and in being seen in this way, also to be held, to be gently and lovingly cradled in the arms of another. In the poems that follow, I bring to expression in prayer my own journey deeper into the perfect loving gaze and the most tender embrace of God, and also my experience of seeing, receiving, and holding others from within this place of his own Love.My hope is that in my words you may find points of access, touches of gentle love, which awaken in you the desire and the confidence to open your heart vulnerably to God, so that, gazing upon him in faith, you may experience his loving gaze upon you, and may feel the sheltering embrace of his Love from which nothing, nothing can separate you.+ + +The poetry contained in this book has been gathered from my other published works and "bound together" here in a single place. The collection is unabridged (I have only removed "repeats," when a poem appears in multiple places), and the poems are given mostly in the order in which they were written. Therefore, this collection shows with spontaneity the development and deepening of my thought and prayer over the last few years; and indeed it bears in itself the flowering of the many seeds of grace which were planted in the soil of my heart and my life before the writing of all that is contained here.My prayer is that you may experience his tender gaze while you read and reflect upon my words--that in some small way they may help you to encounter the immensity of God's love for you. This is a love that is unique, unrepeatable, and unspeakably close, a love through which he yearns ardently to enfold you in his embrace and to unite you to himself in an intimacy that surpasses all hope and imagination, and which endures throughout life until it finds its consummation in eternity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Each of us has experienced difficult times when we question our self-worth or perhaps battle with confusion, disappointment, despair, or frustration. Are you going through a struggle that makes you feel like you are stuck in murky quicksand, unable to break free or begin anew? I’ve lived through times when days seem to be painted a dull drab gray, and it appeared I’d closed myself off in a human capsule, unable to relate to the world around me. Many times, I’ve come to realize that my perceptions of things have created nonexistent monsters like those created in our minds as children. However, I am learning that God doesn’t leave me alone to work through difficult situations by myself like a shipwrecked sailor on a deserted island. I find that my poor judgment or bad decision often further complicates the dilemma I’m confronting. Relief comes to me when I stop blaming God for whatever nightmare I am facing and devote quiet time in prayer with Him. God’s response doesn’t come like a light streaming from the heavens or a bright, colorful rainbow shining outside my window; it’s more like an Alaskan ice cap that slowly begins to thaw and break up with the warmth of the spring rain. As I pour out my heartfelt problems to God, creative solutions spring forth in my mind like an arrow shot from the quiver of a bow, destined to find its mark in the very heart of my problem. A new idea and hope emerges that propels me to make a sound decision to rejoin the imperfect human race, fight the good fight, and run the race of life. Through the years I have come to know that God loves us more deeply than we love ourselves. God never abandons us but waits patiently and lovingly for us to call out for His help. I admit there are times I don’t understand His ways. However, as I put my trust in God by earnestly and honestly seeking His guidance and grace for my life, all the difficulties I’m having seem to become easier with which to deal. Complex issues seem to melt like ice cream on a hot summer day. By inviting God to be the rudder of my ship each day, my life has taken on a bright new meaning. It can be like the excitement of starting to read an exciting new novel, wondering what wonderful surprise and blessing God has in store for me in the next pages. In sacred scriptures, we read that God inhibits the praises and answers the prayers of His people. He can and will move the mountains and obstacles that often feel like handcuffs upon our wrists. God will bring us comfort, peace, and joy as we put our trust in Him and give God the freedom to work in our lives. May this collection of poems be a source of inspiration to each reader and foster renewed hope in your heart.

Book Expressions of Love from the Mountaintop

Download or read book Expressions of Love from the Mountaintop written by Judith Beverly-Webb and published by . This book was released on 2016-08-10 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Expressions of Love from the Mountaintop is not your ordinary book of poems. It is an expression of the difficult and rocky climb up the spiritual mountain of God. It's about many of my own experiences. As Christians, we hurt, we suffer, we struggle, we cry. And, yes, sometimes we slip down the slippery slope of the mountain when we make mistakes and, at times, we give up and even fall away from God. In this book, you'll read of the human struggles it takes to be spiritually fit for God's will. You'll identify with the climb of the mountain and you'll recognize the mercy and grace of God. You will see yourself in these pages. It is when you trust God to help you climb your mountain that you know you couldn't have climbed to the top without Him. But, when you get to the top, "Oh, the expressions of love for God, from your mountain top." The climb is hard . . . The rewards are out of this world. Each heartfelt poem comes with a second copy that is a detachable poem. Give or send a copy to loved ones, family, friends, or a stranger. A unique idea, because you care enough to share. "Have a praiseworthy climb."

Book From My Mouth to God s Ear

Download or read book From My Mouth to God s Ear written by Olanda Carr Jr. and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The pages of my book tell not only of my journey, but also of the journeys of those that have crossed my path along the road of life. Each poem presented tells a unique story --stories of great pain, suffering, and disappointment; stories of magnificent joy, peace, and triumph. I ask you to pause and reflect as you read each poem, and follow the road that has led me to where I am today. Many of the poems included were written years ago and describe times that are no more. They were included for a specific reason: to help someone going through similar times today to find peace. Others were written quite recently and speak of modern-day events and challenges. It is my thought that others will find themselves embedded in these works as well. Some are quite personal and deal solely with my experiences, thoughts, beliefs, life, and times. Others are written through the eyes of those around me, as I allowed myself to craft words to imagine and describe the thoughts and feelings of others. All were written with great emotion, time, energy, and care. I pray that all poems touch readers in ways that bring peace and encourage love.

Book Life s Ever Changing Emotions

Download or read book Life s Ever Changing Emotions written by Ronald Black and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2013-02-26 with total page 301 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Poetry is something that we all share, each time that we think a thought. We think in poetry, only some of us are not able to put it in words but thoughts of poetry live in our hearts. We are filled with emotions and that is what poetry is. You need to just open your heart to the words written for they are the words coming from a heart just like you. From our pain and our sacrifices to our joy and happiness, when you read this we will be able to see that we are all the same seeking love and a dream that we can claim. There are times when we may feel lost and there is nothing that we can do. The truth is that there will always be options for us to choose. Only with our ever changing emotions at the time we are blind to see. For every action there is an opposite reaction. There are things that we know that we can do yet we get caught up in the things that we are going through. There are times when we are happy and times when we are sad. It is a delicate balance in the lives that we live. Each of us will need to come to grips with the way that we feel. We are never alone although we think at the time that we are alone. We need to find the courage to reach out and say that we are here. Is there anyone out there that care about the lives that we live? At the end of the day if we listen closely we will be able to hear a voice saying that I am here, you are not alone. Ever changing emotions is what will live in our hearts. We just have to decide the things that we want to do and find the courage to follow them through. The Life that I have had to live has been very difficult but the love in my heart kept me strong even when I sometimes may have felt alone. I have cried my share of tears and I have suffered many years but I kept the love in my heart. We are human and we make mistakes but as long as we live there will always be another road for us to take. I pray that the poems that you are reading help you to understand that we all go through lifes ever changing emotions. We have to live in the moment and if that moment continues to last then we should remember that our lives are made up of our past, present and our future. For as long as we live we can change the way that we feel. Love and forgiveness is what we should always hold most precious in our lives. Love and forgiveness can forever live in our hearts. Poetry is something that we all share, each time that we think a thought. We think in poetry, only some of us are not able to put it in words but thoughts of poetry live in our hearts. We are filled with emotions and that is what poetry is. You need to just open your heart to the words written for they are the words coming from a heart just like you. Book Heaven in Ordinary

Download or read book Heaven in Ordinary written by David Jasper and published by Lutterworth Press. This book was released on 2018-11-29 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heaven in Ordinary is like a love affair with poetry that engages with religious questions, for good or ill, concerned with five poets who are haunted by God. Poets, in times of great faith and times of doubt, have expressed for us their sense of both the presence and the absence of God in language that is sometimes almost sacramental in its weight of beauty, love, fear, anger or despair. The poets considered here all relate, in some way, to the traditions of Anglicanism through the centuries, reflecting both a common humanity and a wide breadth of human experience as it struggles with God. Heaven in Ordinary is deliberately autobiographical in approach, as it is grounded in David Jasper's own lifetime experience of reading poetry since his school years, and over four decades as a priest. The poets he so beautifully discusses have related both positively and negatively to the Christian faith and the Anglican tradition. Some are deeply religious, others are haunted by God and the divine mystery.

Download or read book Gentle and Lowly written by Dane C. Ortlund and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2020-03-18 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christians know that God loves them, but can easily feel that he is perpetually disappointed and frustrated, maybe even close to giving up on them. As a result, they focus a lot—and rightly so—on what Jesus has done to appease God’s wrath for sin. But how does Jesus Christ actually feel about his people amid all their sins and failures? This book draws us to Matthew 11, where Jesus describes himself as “gentle and lowly in heart,” longing for his people to find rest in him. The gospel flows from God’s deepest heart for his people, a heart of tender love for the sinful and suffering. These chapters take readers into the depths of Christ’s very heart for sinners, diving deep into Bible passages that speak of who Christ is and encouraging readers with the affections of Christ for his people. His longing heart for sinners comforts and sustains readers in their up-and-down lives.

Download or read book Profound written by Arthur Freeman and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-06-05 with total page 89 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As you radiate peace and goodwill, you open up the channels for Gods love to come in. Every day, we have to blot out noises and chatter and listen for the voice of God and respond accordingly. The acceptable time is not the length of time. It is the due time God has alloted for his children. The choices we make are the ones we have to live with. Choose well. With a strong arm, God will bring us to a place of surrender. The Holy Spirit desires that we walk in integrity and humility in order to have an encounter with God. He must be properly introduced. Many know of him, yet they do not know him as the giver of life. The enemy has cast a spirit of seduction and self-destruction on this generation and this peoplea generation that has been written off as hopeless and lost, plagued with fear, addiction, and abuse. What we fail to see is the invisible cry from within. Somebody help me with this. Is there hope for me? Sometimes words are difficult to express. And sometimes there is no one to listen. Questions: Will God accept me in my sin? Is there a place for me in the church? What if Im a homosexual or lesbian and struggling, searching for a way out? Can you look past my dress code and see whats in my heart or at least ask? This is not working for me. I really need some help over here.
