Book Pneuma from the Spiritual Condition of Christ to the Holy Spirit Agent

Download or read book Pneuma from the Spiritual Condition of Christ to the Holy Spirit Agent written by John Sunday Adimula and published by . This book was released on 2021-04-23 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Was the identity of the Holy Spirit as a personal agent already obvious in the expressions of faith at the pre-literary stage of Christianity? This book traces the evolution of the expression of the early Christian faith in relation to the notion of pneuma (spirit). It shows that, first of all pneuma, as long as it can be traced from three passages in antithesis with sarks (1 Tim 3:16; 1 Pet 3:18,22 and Rom 1:3-4) reflecting the Christian theology prior to the early New Testament writings, referred to the spiritual condition to which Christ had access as a result of his resurrection, in contrast to his previous earthly condition. Then in a more in-depth examination of Rom 1:4 from the angle of identifiable redactions, it continues to show how the passage/transition from this representation of the pneuma-condition to that of the pneuma (Spirit) designating the Holy Spirit took place.

Book excerpt: The Holy Spirit is a personal agent acting in collaboration with the Father and the Son in the New Testament writings. This idea was not obvious at the oral stage of the followers of Christ. This work challenges the authors who see in the oral stage the usage already of the concept of the Holy Spirit as an agent. It critically analyses the controversial texts which have been interpreted in that regard. It then shows that the term πνεῦμα evolved to incorporate the idea of personal agent. In other words, this work aims at demonstrating the gradual evolution and development of the use of the term πνεῦμα to its later designation as πνεῦμα-agent. It investigates into the oral tradition's usage of πνεῦμα which happens to be used in antithesis with σάρξ in relation to the mystery of Christ to portray his spiritual condition. The term was not used to designate the Holy Spirit as a personal agent but rather as a condition of Christ after his resurrection.

  • Pages : 198 pages

Download or read book Pneumaticos written by Prince Mensah and published by . This book was released on 2020-08-29 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pneumaticos is made up of the Greek word "Pneuma" which means a current of air, breath or breeze. It is used to refer to the Spirit of God. The word "ticos" also means activity of. Therefore Pneumaticos means "of the Activities of the breath of God" or "the Activities of the Spirit of God" or "the Manifestation of the Holy Spirit". The Father and Our Lord Jesus Christ sent the Holy Spirit to complete the work and the purpose of God on earth. The Holy Spirit came fully to stay, do and complete His work on earth from the day of Pentecost as stated in Acts chapter two. It is worth noting that when the Holy Spirit came, He came upon the disciples of Jesus Christ, living in them and working in/with them through various manifestations. The earliest manifestations or activities of the Holy Spirit the disciple took note of was that the Holy Spirit manifested as rushing wind and tongues of fire. As the disciples were filled with the Spirit, they learnt and then ride on the wind of the Holy Spirit and this is known as Pneumaticos. Riding on the wind of the Holy Spirit means manifesting the Holy Spirit in every area of our Christian lives. Riding on the wind of the Spirit includes;-Being full of the Spirit (Acts 6:3) (Eph 5:18)-Living by the Spirit (Galatians 5:17)-Walking in the Spirit. (Galatians 5:25) (Galatians 5: 16)-Speaking by the Spirit (1 Cor 12:3)-Being led of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:18)-Operating with the gifts of the Spirit (1 Cor 12:7)-Bearing the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22)-Worshipping the Father in spirit by Spirit (John 4:24) The purpose of this book is introduce readers and seekers to the Holy Spirit with the aim of creating an avenue for them to encounter the Holy Spirit and develop an intimate relationship that will serve as their foundation for riding the wind of the Spirit and manifesting the Holy Spirit in every area of their lives.Did you know that the entire creation is waiting for us to manifest as God's sons?Romans 8:19 says "For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God".Yes, the earth is eager for us to bring to fruition our godly identities. The book is tailored to help readers find their identity in Christ so they can reflect their godly identities in the world being the cities set on a hill that Jesus said cannot be hidden. If you are interested not only to be baptize by the Holy Spirit but desire to lead people to receive Spirit baptism with evidence of speaking in tongues or interested in being equipped to clearly hear the voice of the Lord, flow with the gifts of the Spirit and operate in the supernatural realm. If you are interested in receiving impartation and become activated for impactful ministry, then this book is a must read for you.I pray that you will encounter the Holy Spirit through this book as you read and your life and ministry will never be the same again.

Book The Holy Spirit s Work In Salvation

Download or read book The Holy Spirit s Work In Salvation written by Arthur W. Pink and published by Felipe chavarro. This book was released on with total page 66 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Arthur W. Pink (1886-1952) In this booklet A. W. Pink examines the following aspects of the Holy Spirit’s work in salvation: regenerating, quickening, enlightening, convicting, comforting, drawing, and working faith. His biblical insights regarding the first (regeneration) and the last (faith) are particularly valuable today because these two areas are frequently misunderstood by modern evangelicals. Regeneration, for example, is believed by many to be the result of one’s “decision for Christ.” But as Pink shows, regeneration precedes repentance and belief. Likewise—and also unlike what many believe today—faith is not something that can be produced at will, but is a gift of God given by the Holy Spirit. It is sometimes lamented that the Holy Spirit is the “forgotten” member of the Trinity; but forgotten or not, it is always profitable to study the Spirit’s work, especially His role in salvation as presented in this booklet.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On every hand a lack of something is being felt and expressed by God's people. Their Christian experience is not what they expected it would be. Instead of expected victory, it is oft-recurring, dreaded defeat; instead of soul satisfaction it is soul hunger; instead of deep, abiding heart rest, it is disquiet and discontent; instead of advancing, it is losing ground. Is this all Christ meant when He said, "Come unto Me"? Is this life of constant disappointment the normal life of the Bible Christian? To these sad questionings the Divine Word answers with an emphatic "No.,." -from The Spirit-Filled Life This little classic of late-19th-century Protestantism, first published in 1896, is a clearly written introduction to the theology of the Holy Spirit for "born-again" Christians seeking to be "filled with the spirit of Christ." The author explains: . why unity with the Holy Spirit is every Christian's birthright . how to cleanse oneself of sin in preparation for the Holy Spirit's arrival . how to consecrate the soul of sin in order to welcome the Holy Spirit . how to claim communion with the Holy Spirit . what impure motives to avoid when building a new relationship with the Holy Spirit . and more. Book PNEUMA HAGION A Special Study in Holy Spirit

Download or read book PNEUMA HAGION A Special Study in Holy Spirit written by Victor P Wierwille and published by . This book was released on 2019-12-24 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.Jesus Christ said, "Ye worship ye know not what." I believe that is true for most people. Everybody worships. The question is: Are we worshipping rightly? Do we know what, how, or why we worship?Jesus Christ said, about worship, that "the hour cometh ...when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit [the word 'in' is the same Greek word translated 'by'; 'by spirit'] and in truth." Worship the Father how? You shall worship Him not by candles, not by altars, not by Bible reading, not by singing, but by the spirit. "In spirit and in truth" is the figure of speech hendiadys: two nouns used but one thing meant. "Spirit" is a noun and "truth" is a noun, the double noun being used to doubly emphasize that it is spiritually true, or truly spiritual. The Father seeks a true worshipper to worship thus-in spirit and in truth. If we can find out what it is to worship God by the spirit, we know how to truly worship. The question is not what anybody thinks, but what does the Word say? There have been so many ideas brought to Christianity that it is often difficult for even Biblical scholars to distinguish between that which is genuine and that which is counterfeit. In other words, it is hard to separate that which is truly Christianity from that which is religion. Religion is what man has introduced. There is much religion in so-called Christianity, but true Christianity does not have one ounce of religion in it. Unless you know the difference between religion and Christianity, you will become very confused. Christianity, in a nutshell, is what God wrought in Christ. Christianity is Christ in you, the hope of glory. The Bible teaches that God is Spirit and we are to worship Him in spirit and in truth. Jesus declared this truth when he spoke to the Samaritan woman. In John 4:20 the woman said to Jesus, "Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship." Jesus replied in verse 21, "Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father." How then shall He be worshipped?- Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. This is true worship. The called of God are those who "worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus." We rejoice in Christ Jesus, not in Jesus Christ. There is a great difference. We do not rejoice in the humiliated one, Jesus, but in the glorified Christ. Our rejoicing, our worshipping is in the resurrected Christ. Our rejoicing is not in that Jesus who was spit on or slapped or persecuted or derided. We rejoice that be was more than a conqueror, that be overcame and ascended up into heaven, that he is seated at the right hand of God, and that on the day of Pentecost he sent "forth this, which ye now see and bear," as stated in Acts 2:33. Rejoice in Christ Jesus, the humiliated one who has been resurrected and has ascended into glory. To worship is to rejoice in Christ Jesus for what he did, not what we do, because the flesh is weak. Do not judge men by the flesh. Have no confidence, trust, reliance, nor believing in the flesh. The flesh is so weak that John 6:63 says that "the flesh profiteth nothing." When we have confidence in the flesh, we must assess one man to be better than another on the basis of appearance. Yet, if men are born again of God's Spirit, whose children are they? God's! In God's sight they are equally precious. There are many things going on under the guise of Christianity which are nothing more than having "confidence in the flesh." But we truly have our confidence in what God wrought in Christ Jesus.
