Book Bridge Is a Conversation

Download or read book Bridge Is a Conversation written by Gerard Cohen. and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2011-08-29 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bridge Is a Conversation is a guide to bridge fundamentals for players who already have an understanding of the basics of the game and the desire to improve their competitiveness at the bridge table. The goal is not to teach how bridge systems are built, nor to describe their content, but rather to clarify how to use them the way the best players in the world do and to offer an alternative to simply playing by the book. You will find the game much more interesting, challenging, and enjoyable than you ever dreamed it could be. The principles in this book are valid regardless of the bidding system used. In sixty years of playing bridge, author Gerard Cohen has observed many games of bridge, and he brings that knowledge to this guide. His observations of how his partners, opponents, and others play that make them outstanding are key to the thoughts included here. He looked for patterns, drew conclusions and developed general concepts that those who havent reached the top level yet can learn and apply for a chance at competing with the best. Take your bridge game to the next level with Bridge Is a Conversation.

Book Scientific Auction Bridge

Download or read book Scientific Auction Bridge written by Edward Valentine Shepard and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-11-28 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Scientific Auction Bridge: A Clear Exposition of the Game to Aid Both the Beginner and the Experienced Player, With Explicit and Easy Rules for Bidding and Playing It is quite unnecessary to know anything of either Whist or Bridge to readily learn to play a good game of Auction Bridge. The three games have much in com mon, but some of the principles involved are so radically different that a beginner who knows nothing of the older game can about as readily learn what Whist and Bridge players really know of the new game as the latter players can unlearn what does not apply to it. The closer a player follows the probabilities on sizing up his hand, bidding, doubling, redoubling, leading, and so on, the bigger his score will average. This is the first work on Auction Bridge to enter thoroughly into the mathematical probabilities of the game.' Minor changes have resulted in the rules for the play of the cards to give their holder the benefit of increased chances to win. The great changes from methods commonly used by the average player come in the bidding system which is based upon mathematical facts. Book Slam After Slam with Force Point

Download or read book Slam After Slam with Force Point written by Pawell Boiew and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2016-10-24 with total page 315 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Force Point (Fp) Counting will help you to count your hand directly in contract tricks (the tricks that are above the initial 6 tricks, which are not counted in the game of bridge). The Fp Counting itself is a new low of the Total Tricks, much better than the old one. The sum of both hands contract tricks, yours and your partner, will give to you the game's Play Level (PL). No need evaluations by the time of the initial count, but one of you, who will ask his partner to reveal the exact distribution (between around 500 possible distributions), must apply some tricks' adjustments when a new distribution changes are discovered by the time of the Bidding. When you discover partner's exact shape, you will ask for the exact number of the contract tricks, thus finding your exact PL. Then if the PL = 5.5 you must ask your partner for all of the TOP Honors. With Fp you will be able to discover all of the partner's Aces + Kings + Queens with one only question - one answer! No other bridge system is capable of doing that! Then you have to calculate the final PL, and may ask your partner where are the TOP Honors or directly to choose the final contract. The calculations are for a 7 grader, so the difficult decisions in the game of bridge proved to be a simple arithmetic, not even a math. Using one only SCOR-SCOR Convention for all of your Distribution and Control needs (along with the classical Stayman, of course) will allow to you to see transparently the exact cards and lengths of the suits of your partner before the attack. The Playing is your own responsibility, I can only assist you about the Bidding. On Bidding Contests with 12 TOP Matchpoint scoring, Fp will provide to you no less than 70% (usually close to 80%), but pay attention that on such Contests you will have to bid most difficult distributional games collected around the world. For the love of the Game Force Point Bidding Developer: Mr. Pawell Boiew
