Book Transition Metal Arene P Complexes in Organic Synthesis and Catalysis

Download or read book Transition Metal Arene P Complexes in Organic Synthesis and Catalysis written by E.P. Kündig and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2004-06-21 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Metal-arene p-complexes show a rich and varied chemistry. The metal adds a third dimension to the planar aromatic compounds and coordination of a metal to an arene thus not only altering the reactivity of ring-carbons and substituents but also makes possible reactions that lead to chiral non-racemic products. This book, organized in nine chapters and written by leading scientists in the field provides the reader with an up-to-date treatise on the subject organized according to reaction type and use. It covers the wide spectrum of arene activation: from the electrophilic activation of h6-bound areneï⿬ by p-Lewis acid metal complex fragments, to reactions of nucleophilic h2-coordinated arene complexes. The preparation of complexes is detailed, as are the scope, limitations and challenges of reactions in contemporary p-arene metal chemistry with special attention given to asymmetric transformations. The emphasis of the book is on transformations of interest to organic synthesis and on the use of the complexes as catalysts or as chiral ligands. The book is written for academic and industrial researchers in organic, organometallic, and inorganic chemistry as well as for advanced chemistry students

Book Ruthenium II Arene Complexes for Asymmetric Catalysis

Download or read book Ruthenium II Arene Complexes for Asymmetric Catalysis written by Zhenyu Zhu and published by . This book was released on 2019 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Within the last few years, a significant contribution to the discovery of sp2C−H activation processes and useful applications for cross-coupling C−C bond formation has been achieved by the use of ruthenium(II) arene catalysts. The aim of this thesis is to describe a modular approach for the synthesis of several ruthenium(II) arene complexes with the potential for C−H activation. Another cutting-edge field, catalytic enantioselective functionalization of C−H bonds by transitional metal catalysts, has also been realized within the last few years. It represents a highly atom- and step-economic approach toward the generation of structural complexity. However, the majority of current methodologies rely on the usage of late third- row transition metals such as pallidum, iridium and rhodium. There is a need that motivates the search for cheaper, relative earth abundant metals that could have similar catalytic ability. Herein is also represented a preliminary study of a ruthenium(II)-catalyzed enantioselective access to chromane moiety enabled by chiral transient directing group.

Book Chiral Reagents for Asymmetric Synthesis

Download or read book Chiral Reagents for Asymmetric Synthesis written by Leo A. Paquette and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2003-08-01 with total page 618 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Derived from the renowned, Encyclopedia of Reagents for Organic Synthesis (EROS), the related editors have created a new handbook which focuses on chiral reagents used in asymmetric synthesis and is designed for the chemist at the bench. This new handbook follows the same format as the Encyclopedia, including an introduction and an alphabetical arrangement of the reagents. As chiral reagents are the key for the successful asymmetric synthesis, choosing the right reagents is essential, in this handy reference the editors give details on how to prepare, store and use the reagents as well as providing key reactions to demonstrate where reagents have been successfully used. Comprehensive information on 226 reagents Covers 64 reagents which were not included in EROS All information in one easy to use volume – at an affordable price All reagents included will be added to e-EROS – please visit the site where you can gain access to over 50,000 reactions and 3,800 of the most frequently consulted reagents.
