Book excerpt: During their sophomore year at highschool, two teen boys conducted a physics experiment for a final grade in physics class. They created a full size replica of the old testament’s “Ark of the Covenant.” Unknowingly, the boys sent a message across the universe. God’s angles intercepted the message and understood it to mean that the earth was finally ready for the “second coming” or the “rapture.” They returned to earth to gather the “faithful” where they collided with earth’s space program on the moon. When the angels received the innocent babies, earth thought it was an alien kidnaping. When they received the innocent children, they suspected they took them for food. When the faithful adults disappeared and the graves of their ancestors were opened, earth concluded that aliens were searching for a specific human DNA chain. The angles were fulfilling one prophecy after another, yet not one soul on earth recognized it as the “rapture.” When it was over, it was a priest, left behind, who made the faithful discovery . . . crying out “Oh my God . . . my God!” “Pioneers of Hell” is a story describing the final days of our earth and the beginning of time in Hell.

Book Pioneers of the Heavenly Way

Download or read book Pioneers of the Heavenly Way written by Theodore Austin-Sparks and published by Book Ministry. This book was released on 2011-09-13 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some time before these messages were given, desiring to be quiet and away from many things, I went down into the country with my heart very much to the Lord for His word. In the early hours of the morning it seemed as though the heavens opened and everything became alive: it all opened up wonderfully, and centered in one phrase – “Pioneers of the Heavenly Way.” That really does sum up the verses (Hebrews 11:13-16)..., and, while we are going to think and perhaps say much about the heavenly way, it is this matter of pioneering the heavenly way that will be our main concern. It is necessary, to begin with, for us to consider to some extent the heavenly way itself, but I repeat that it is this whole tremendous business of pioneering that way that I believe to be the main concern of the Lord, and hence of ourselves, at this time. T.A-S.

Book I Dreamed I Was a Very Clean Tramp

Download or read book I Dreamed I Was a Very Clean Tramp written by Richard Hell and published by Ecco. This book was released on 2014-02-18 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From an early age, Richard Hell dreamed of running away. He arrived penniless in New York City at seventeen; ten years later he was a pivotal voice of the age of punk, cofounding such seminal bands as Television, The Heartbreakers, and Richard Hell and the Voidoids—whose song "Blank Generation" remains the defining anthem of the era, an era that would forever alter popular culture in all its forms. How this legendary downtown artist went from a bucolic childhood in the idyllic Kentucky foothills to igniting a movement that would take over New York and London's restless youth culture—cementing CBGB as the ground zero of punk and spawning the careers of not only Hell himself, but a cohort of friends such as Tom Verlaine, Patti Smith, the Ramones, and Debby Harry—is a mesmerizing chronicle of self-invention, and of Hell's yearning for redemption through poetry, music, and art. An acutely rendered, unforgettable coming-of-age story, I Dreamed I Was a Very Clean Tramp evokes with feeling, lyricism, and piercing intelligence both the world that shaped him and the world he shaped.

Book Pioneer Doctor

Download or read book Pioneer Doctor written by Lewis J. Moorman and published by University of Oklahoma Press. This book was released on 2015-07-01 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pioneer Doctor is the story of a half-century of medical practice, from the early days in Oklahoma Territory to metropolitan conditions. Lewis J. Moorman, M.D., once told a patient who apologized for calling him out late at night, “You must remember, I started with a team of Indian ponies twenty miles from a railroad.” Moorman’s experiences run the gamut of human ills and situations—of childbirth in a barn loft, the “faith healer” who infected a whole community with an “itch,” the mother who was sure her child had a case of the “go-backs.” He tells of encounters with Indians who needed medical help; the horrifying effects of gunshot and knife wounds; and the spiritual response of patients stricken with tuberculosis. In the literature of medical practice, Dr. Moorman’s association with Old Billy, his horse, approaches near-classic proportions. Obtained as payment for a long-overdue medical bill, Old Billy had a balky disposition—until the good doctor decided to talk things over with him one day. What follows offers a rare account of the relationship between a man and his horse. Pioneer Doctor stands as an entertaining and informative memoir, but its social and cultural significance is clear. For here is apparent a tremendous transformation as countless young physicians like Moorman went out from Louisville Medical College, covering the plains with horse-and-buggy doctors.
