Book Physical Testing of Rubber

Download or read book Physical Testing of Rubber written by Roger Brown and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-03-06 with total page 389 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rubber is important in many engineering applications because of its unique properties. These properties must be measured with appropriate test methods developed specifically for this class of materials. This book provides, in one volume, comprehensive coverage of the procedures for measuring the whole range of the physical properties of rubber. This new edition presents an up-to-date introduction to the standard methods used for testing, quality control analysis, product evaluation, and production of design data for rubber and elastomers. Factors to be incorporated in the revision include the effects of newer instrumentation, the cutting back of laboratory staff, increased demands for formal accreditation and calibration, trend to product testing, overlap of thermoplastic elastomers with plastics and increased need for design data.

Book Physical Testing of Rubber

Download or read book Physical Testing of Rubber written by R.P. Brown and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Physical testing of Rubber is an essential reference for anyone concerned with evaluating rubber materials or with using material property data for design. There is much new and updated material, due to improvements made to apparatus by the introduction of advanced instrumentation and automation, and many changes in international standards. A number of subjects common to all areas of physical testing are addressed. These include discussion of the reasons for testing, the trends in test development, the use of statistics and quality control of laboratories.

Book Physical Test Methods for Elastomers

Download or read book Physical Test Methods for Elastomers written by Roger Brown and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-10-18 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides comprehensive coverage of all aspects of physical testing of elastomers (rubbers and thermoplastic elastomers) including mechanical, electrical, thermal and all aspects of durability. Elastomers are an important class of materials used in such products as tyres, seals and hose which have markedly different properties to other materials. The importance of testing of elastomers means that a comprehensive text on the subject is essential. The advantage over general materials testing books is being more specific while the advantage over general rubber technology books is that testing is dealt with in depth.

Book Physical Testing of Synthetic Rubber Products

Download or read book Physical Testing of Synthetic Rubber Products written by LV. Cooper and published by . This book was released on 1944 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Evaluation that will predict with a high degree of accuracy the suitability for service of any product is the object of all physical testing. Over a comparatively short period of about 25 years, the rubber technologists have evolved a series of tests which have reasonably well evaluated natural rubber compounds. When it became necessary to evaluate rubber substitutes, it was only natural that the same tests would be applied. The results obtained convinced everyone that these materials definitely were not equivalent substitutes and to use them involved more than just replacement. Although the background is not as extensive as might be desired, the A.S.T.M. Committee D-11 on Rubber Products has learned enough about these materials to be able to present certain facts and recommendations to industry in general with regard to specifications covering synthetic rubbers and products made from them.
