Book excerpt: Lance needs a vacation from DC and his job. He’s lost his passion to work there now that shifters and humans have equal rights, and he’s thinking about retiring, even though he’s only forty-seven. Of course, that means he has to deal with the people who want him to run for president—something he has no intention of doing. Matt was only supposed to stay in Hope for a few weeks, but he ends up accepting the sheriff job, even though the station isn’t even finished yet. He was looking for a change from his job as a detective anyway, and he likes Hope, the friends he has there—and the two men he just met. Monty has a lot to deal with as the only healer in Hope, but that doesn’t stop him from deciding he wants to see where things go when he meets Matt and Lance. He knows being in a relationship with two men isn’t usual and that it’s not going to be easy, but he wants it to work. Matt, Monty, and Lance have hurdles to get over, though. Lance’s job means he can’t come out, especially not as being in a threesome when one of his men is a shifter. Humans still aren’t accepting of them, no matter what the law says. And even though he’s been thinking about retiring, Lance has to make a hard choice between the possibility of making other peoples’ lives better or making his better. He has a hard time accepting the possibility of being in a throuple, but once he lets go of his fears, the stakes rise. Will Lance choose happiness over duty? Will Matt and Monty be willing to give him time to work things out? And what will happen when he is outed against his will?

Book excerpt: From the author of the “breathtaking, bone-chilling work of psychological suspense” (Cristina Alger, USA TODAY bestselling author) Her One Mistake, comes a riveting new suspense novel about three ambitious women whose lives are turned upside down after a horrifying fire threatens to expose a tangled web of lies. Laura has returned to work at Morris and Wood after her maternity leave, only to discover that the woman she brought in to cover for her isn’t going anywhere. Despite her close relationship with the agency’s powerful CEO, she feels sidelined—and outmaneuvered—as she struggles to balance the demands of work and motherhood. Mia was only supposed to be a temporary hire at Morris and Wood, but she’s managed to make herself indispensable to everyone. Everyone, that is, except Laura. If people only knew why she was so desperate to keep her job, they might not want her to stay. Janie gave up everything to support her husband and the successful agency he runs. But she has her own dark secret to protect…and will go to any lengths to keep it safe. With her signature “chilling, captivating” (Megan Miranda, New York Times bestselling author) prose, Heidi Perks weaves another bone-chilling and unputdownable thriller in the vein of Watching You and The Couple Next Door.

Book Three Nuances of the Perfect Indicative in the Greek New Testament

Download or read book Three Nuances of the Perfect Indicative in the Greek New Testament written by Hanbyul Kang and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2021-10-12 with total page 211 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book analyzes the existence of the three nuances of the perfect tense occurring in the Greek New Testament: resultative-stative, anterior (current relevance), and simple past. The ancient Greek perfect expresses a resultative-stative nuance, with intransitivity dominant. Some of these archaic perfects survived up to the Koine period and appear in the Greek New Testament. In Classical Greek, the perfect went through a transition from resultative to anterior (current relevance) with increasing transitivity. In the Koine period, the Greek perfect shows another semantic change from the anterior to simple past. In the end, the perfect merged with the aorist, ending up in decay. It disappeared until the modern Greek development of a perfect forming using the auxiliary ἔχω.

Book excerpt: #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts completes the Inn BoonsBoro trilogy with a novel of starting over and star-crosed love. Ryder is the hardest Montgomery brother to figure out—with a tough-as-nails exterior and possibly nothing too soft underneath. He’s surly and unsociable, but when he straps on a tool belt, no woman can resist his sexy swagger. Except, apparently, Hope Beaumont, the innkeeper of his own Inn BoonsBoro… The former manager of a D.C. hotel, Hope is now where she wants to be—except for in her love life. Her only interaction with the opposite sex has been sparring with the infuriating Ryder, who always seems to get under her skin. Still, no one can deny the electricity that crackles between them…a spark that ignited with a New Year’s Eve kiss. While the inn is running smoothly, thanks to Hope’s experience and unerring instincts, her big-city past is about to make an unwelcome—and embarrassing—appearance. Seeing Hope vulnerable stirs Ryder’s emotions and makes him realize that while Hope may not be perfect, she just might be perfect for him… Don't miss the other books in the Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy The Next Always The Last Boyfriend
