Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If the human soul's physical essence were discovered it would affect every aspect of modern society. Religious, corporate, scientific and medical communities would be forced to deal with the revelation. How would they know what to do? Could you make the right choices? Would it make you rich? Powerful? Famous? God's messenger? Or would it make you dead? That is the monumental test facing sailor and physicist Jason Mason and his research team in Pelagic Soul. David George is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and an Aquinas College alumnus. He lives in southwest Michigan with his wife and son where he divides his time between family, writing and sailing. Pelagic Soul is David George's second novel.

Download or read book The Soul Catcher s Calling written by Nigel J. Jamieson LLD and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2020-01-08 with total page 1119 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are hot-spots, sink-holes, and hell-holes all over the earth. They move around a bit. Baghdad in Iraq has been often a hot-spot, Kabul in Afghanistan is another. Then there's the sink-hole of Tehran in Iran, together with the recently war-torn Damascus in Syria. Don't blame the places, nor even the folks. New York in the USA, London in the UK, and Brussels in the EU are no different for being sometimes politically-sinking hot-spots or terrorist-targeted hell-holes. In terms of prophetic history, a welter of the world's biggest cities are everyday battlegrounds from which governmental academics compartmentalise their own specialist solutions. Most of these solutions, whether military or civic, fall so far short of the cosmic solution as to escalate the existing state of world disorder. Sure enough, without a barebones history of hell there's no point to fixing up hell-holes. Without the briefest history of heaven, it's also pointless to shore-up sink-holes. And as for the world's hot-spots, you have to look as deep into the souls of the good-guys as you do into the souls of the bad-guys. But you can't just walk off from compartmentalising a problem and expect it to sort itself out. For a workable solution you've got to bring back all the component parts together again that you first took apart and make them work together. That's exactly why this Soul-Catcher's Calling stops at nothing short of dealing with all things both under the sun and beyond the sun. Soul-catching is a military operation, at first under command, and then undertaken entirely by personal commitment. All such tours of duty overseas will be carefully monitored and guided by the most experienced of guardian angels. However perilous the front-line travel, none who seriously commit themselves to this soul-catching operation shall get left behind.
Download or read book Soul of a People written by Norman M. Chansky and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2022-08-16 with total page 559 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Soul of a People is the creative retelling of the Odyssey of the Jewish people traversing the expanse and vicissitudes of their history from the Creation through the Prophets to the birth of a new nation and an Ingathering of a dispersed people. This collection of verses and stories, as seen through a modern eye, provides access to the ongoing struggles of the Jewish people to remain alive and to preserve, embody, and pass down God's message from Mount Sinai. Connecting past with present and future, and anchored in the Jewish imperative to remember, this collection creates a tapestry through time documenting the injustices and the extraordinary acts of courage of everyday heroes. The reader is transformed in the process of remembering through the great struggles of our history--linking each of us one by one from the personal to the collective. Ultimately the triumph of the Jewish people to prevail through adversity is preserved over and over again through our striving to find The Creator in us and in all that we do. Soul of a People invites each of us to recognize and live that connection in our daily lives. In the author's words: "Incomplete we will always be. Striving for the ideal is our destiny."

Download or read book In Search For The Gift Of The Holy Spirit written by Gaylon West and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2016-07-24 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Not only is Acts 2:38 a controversial text because of the mention of baptism "for the remission of sin" but also because of the second independent clause. The audience asks, "What shall we do?" Peter answers in two clauses. The second is, "You shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." What does that mean? West has taken a fresh look at the many passages dealing with the Holy Spirit. He revisits Acts 5:32 where much misunderstanding has arisen. West deals with the English and Greek grammar in the passages in the context of the entire Bible. The major views of the gift of the Holy Spirit are dealt with: (1) the gift is salvation; (2) the gift is supernatural signs; (3) the expression is metaphorical; (4) the gift is the Spirit Himself. Major problems that influence beliefs are (a) learned scholars use their theology instead of their scholarship, (b) the grammar is treated as a complex sentence instead of a compound one, and (c) passages such as Acts 5:29-32 are misused to prove what the gift is.
Download or read book The Spirit Bird written by Kent Nelson and published by University of Pittsburgh Press. This book was released on 2014-10-25 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The flight path of The Spirit Bird traces many landscapes and different transitory lives. A young man scratches out a living from the desert; a woman follows a rarely seen bird in the far reaches of Alaska; a poor single mother sorts out her life in a fancy mountain town. Other protagonists yearn to cross a racial divide, keep developers from a local island, explore their sexuality, and mourn a lost loved one. The characters in this collection are compelled to seek beyond their own horizons, and as the stories unfold, the search becomes the expression of their desires. The elusive spirit bird is a metaphor for what we've lost, for what we hope for, and for what we don't know about ourselves.
