Book Patty s Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology Toxicology

Download or read book Patty s Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology Toxicology written by George D. Clayton and published by Wiley-Interscience. This book was released on 1994-12-06 with total page 768 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Leadership in Safety Management James R. Thomen "I thoroughly recommend this book as a must for all managers interested in improving safety standards and quality levels." —Safety at Work Using techniques that made DuPont a leader in worker safety, the chief architect of that highly successful program shows how to make safety a company wide task—one that unites every echelon and department and raises the safety consciousness of each worker. Complete with explicit guidelines and case studies, the book is a blueprint for creating an optimally safe work environment, with tips on: how management can transform itself into a leader in issues of health and safety; standards of performance, including safety and standard operating procedures as well as engineering design standards; constructive safety auditing; and injury/incident investigations, emphasizing management’s role in accident prevention. 1991 (0-471-53326-2) 400 pp. Patty’s Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology Volumes 1A and 1B: General Principles Fourth Edition Edited by George D. Clayton and Florence E. Clayton "(These) are works that all workers in the field of industrial health should have access to.…" —Annals of Occupational Hygiene In the tradition that has made these volumes an industry classic, the Fourth Edition has now widened its focus on environmental safety and hazard control to include conditions beyond the industrial workplace. Featuring important new information on visual display terminal safety, biological agents in the workplace, and indoor air pollution, Volume 1A of the new two-volume edition also contains up-to-date discussion of legislation and legislative trends; occupational health concerns in the health care field; designing an industrial hygiene laboratory; potential exposures in the manufacturing industry; and agricultural hygiene. Enlarging on the discussion begun in 1A, Volume 1B examines occupational epidemiology; asbestos management in buildings; lighting for seeing and health; ergonomics; and more. Volume 1A: 1991 (0-471-50197-2) 1,079 pp. Volume 1B: 1991 (0-471-50196-4) 1,120 pp. Handbook of Health Hazard Control in the Chemical Process Industry Sydney Lipton and Jeremiah Lynch The ultimate guide to keeping your chemical plant operation safe and up to standard in the ‘90s, this "bible" on hazard control for the process industry examines the impact of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990, the new allowable release rates for "air toxic" chemicals, as well as the latest technological innovations in exposure control. This authoritative reference lays out the basic procedures for exposure evaluation, emissions measurement and estimation, sampling, and exposure assessment, and catalogs the full range of exposure sources from fugitive emissions and major process hazards. In addition, the handbook’s user-friendly format includes criteria for purchasing the most cost-effective control options as well as easy-to-understand descriptions of equipment and installation procedures. 1994 (0-471-55464-2) 1,168 pp.

Book Patty s Toxicology 6 Volume Set

Download or read book Patty s Toxicology 6 Volume Set written by and published by Wiley. This book was released on 2024-04-23 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Patty’s Toxicology was originally published as Patty’s Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology in 1948. Patty's Toxicology has long been recognized as the premier reference for toxicological information on a large number of industrial chemicals that pose potential health hazards to workers and, by extension, consumers of products containing such chemicals. Patty’s Toxicology includes comprehensive toxicological data for industrial compounds, including CAS numbers, physical and chemical properties, exposure limits, and biological tolerance values for occupational exposures, making it an essential reference. The 7th edition reorganizes the book to place the key introductory topics in Volume 1. The first volume provides the basic concepts, approaches and vocabulary that recur throughout the rest of the book. There are several new sections to the introductory volume including biotransformation of xenobiotics, toxicokinetics, mitochondrial toxicology, genetic toxicology, cancer risk assessment reproductive and developmental, and the setting of occupational exposure levels. Other topics added to subsequent volumes include fluorinated compounds used in food packaging such as for non-stick pans as well as for making upholstered furniture, carpets, shoes, mattresses and clothing that are resistant to soil, stains, and water. Other new chapters include flavoring chemicals, flame retardants and engine lubricants. The 7th edition also contains information on plasticizers/phthalates, and exhaust from diesel engines. The section in Patty’s pertaining to agricultural chemicals is reorganized and expanded, including more coverage of pesticides. Topics where there is substantial new research, such as nanomaterials, are significantly enhanced. To retain the focus on toxicology, chapters that cover topics that address occupational hazards that are not toxicologic in nature, such as tuberculosis, have been removed.

Book Patty s Toxicology Cumulative Index

Download or read book Patty s Toxicology Cumulative Index written by Eula Bingham and published by Wiley-Interscience. This book was released on 2001-02-05 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: PATTY'S has become one of Wiley's flagship publications in occupational health and safety, and the toxicology volumes give proof to the growth and development of the field of toxicology. What began as a single volume devoted to the field with the first edition (1948) of Patty's has now mushroomed into eight. This Fifth Edition will permit us to bring about many badly needed changes to the format and organization of the toxicology volumes. In addition to standardizing the format and sequence in which toxicologic data is presented for all of the compounds, the compounds will be organized according to logical groupings, e.g., the metals will be covered in 23 separate chapters making up Volumes II and III; Vol. IV will contain four chapters on aromatic hydrocarbons and 7 chapters on organic nitrogen compounds; Vol. V will contain eight chapters on organic halogenated hydrocarbons and four on aliphatic carboxylic acids; Vol. VI will feature three chapters on ketones, two on alcohols, and five on esters; and Vol. VII will include four chapters on epoxy compounds, two on gycol ethers, and eight on synthetic polymers. The reorganization of chapters in Volumes II through VI by itself will vastly facilitate information searching and retrieval. Volume VIII, like Volume I, does not cover compounds but rather other major issues in toxicology assessment or other forms of toxic agents.
