It has to be shared or it destroys the very carrier of it. That’s when I, the writer, the carrier of these messages, began this journey to write my first book.” – Simmer Bhatia Passage from the book: He finally finished, stared into her, and spoke, “Amazed? Have no words?” She looked at him and replied, “Have no time. What I will show you now, will be beyond what you ever thought of creating or have created. The journey I will take you on now is the journey leading to just one destination for mankind, and that is the end of mankind in mere human existence.” Timeline: 2022 She stared at him in a hypnotic way and a pool of energy started forming in the space between them, until it grew larger and larger and sucked both of them into it.

Book excerpt: This handbook reveals those aspects of hacking least understood by network administrators. It analyzes subjects through a hacking/security dichotomy that details hacking maneuvers and defenses in the same context. Chapters are organized around specific components and tasks, providing theoretical background that prepares network defenders for the always-changing tools and techniques of intruders. Part I introduces programming, protocol, and attack concepts. Part II addresses subject areas (protocols, services, technologies, etc.) that may be vulnerable. Part III details consolidation activities that hackers may use following penetration.

Book Opportunistic Networks

Download or read book Opportunistic Networks written by Anshul Verma and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-08-19 with total page 409 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The opportunistic network is an emerging and recent area of research. To make this research area more adaptable for practical and industrial use, there is a need to further investigate several research challenges in all aspects of opportunistic networks. Therefore, Opportunistic Networks: Fundamentals, Applications and Emerging Trends provides theoretical, algorithmic, simulation, and implementation-based research developments related to fundamentals, applications, and emerging research trends in opportunistic networks. The book follows a theoretical approach to describe fundamentals to beginners and incorporates a practical approach depicting the implementation of real-life applications to intermediate and advanced readers. This book is beneficial for academicians, researchers, developers, and engineers who work in or are interested in the fields related to opportunistic networks, delay tolerant networks, and intermittently connected ad hoc networks. This book also serves as a reference book for graduate and postgraduate courses in computer science, computer engineering, and information technology streams.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thepresentvolumewasdevotedto thethirdeditionofthe InternationalSym- sium on Algorithmic Game Theory (SAGT), an interdisciplinary scienti?c event intended to provide a forum for researchers as well as practitioners to exchange innovative ideas and to be aware of each other's e?orts and results. SAGT 2010 took place in Athens, on October 18–20, 2010. The present volume contains all contributed papers presented at SAGT 2010 together with the distinguished invited lectures of Amos Fiat (Tel-Aviv University, Israel), and Paul Goldberg (University of Liverpool, UK). The two invited papers are presented at the - ginning of the proceedings, while the regular papers follow in alphabetical order (by the authors' names). In response to the call for papers, the Program Committee (PC) received 61 submissions.Amongthesubmissionswerefour paperswith atleastonecoauthor that was also a PC member of SAGT 2010. For these PC-coauthored papers, anindependent subcommittee (EliasKoutsoupias,PaulG. Spirakis, andXiaotie Deng) made the judgment, and eventually two of these papers were proposedfor inclusion in the Scienti?c Program. For the remaining 57 (non-PC-coauthored) papers, the PC of SAGT 2010 conducted a thorough evaluation (at least 3, and on average 3.9 reviews per paper) and electronic discussion, and eventually selected 26 papers for inclusion in the Scienti?c Program. An additional tutorial, “Games Played in Physics”, was also provided in SAGT 2010, courtesy of the academic research network Algogames (A??o?a????o) of the University of Patras.

Book Automating Open Source Intelligence

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Algorithms for Automating Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) presents information on the gathering of information and extraction of actionable intelligence from openly available sources, including news broadcasts, public repositories, and more recently, social media. As OSINT has applications in crime fighting, state-based intelligence, and social research, this book provides recent advances in text mining, web crawling, and other algorithms that have led to advances in methods that can largely automate this process. The book is beneficial to both practitioners and academic researchers, with discussions of the latest advances in applications, a coherent set of methods and processes for automating OSINT, and interdisciplinary perspectives on the key problems identified within each discipline. Drawing upon years of practical experience and using numerous examples, editors Robert Layton, Paul Watters, and a distinguished list of contributors discuss Evidence Accumulation Strategies for OSINT, Named Entity Resolution in Social Media, Analyzing Social Media Campaigns for Group Size Estimation, Surveys and qualitative techniques in OSINT, and Geospatial reasoning of open data. - Presents a coherent set of methods and processes for automating OSINT - Focuses on algorithms and applications allowing the practitioner to get up and running quickly - Includes fully developed case studies on the digital underground and predicting crime through OSINT - Discusses the ethical considerations when using publicly available online data

Book Combinatorics

    Book Details:
  • Author : Nicholas Loehr
  • Publisher : CRC Press
  • Release : 2017-08-10
  • ISBN : 1498780261
  • Pages : 618 pages

Download or read book Combinatorics written by Nicholas Loehr and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-08-10 with total page 618 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Combinatorics, Second Edition is a well-rounded, general introduction to the subjects of enumerative, bijective, and algebraic combinatorics. The textbook emphasizes bijective proofs, which provide elegant solutions to counting problems by setting up one-to-one correspondences between two sets of combinatorial objects. The author has written the textbook to be accessible to readers without any prior background in abstract algebra or combinatorics. Part I of the second edition develops an array of mathematical tools to solve counting problems: basic counting rules, recursions, inclusion-exclusion techniques, generating functions, bijective proofs, and linear algebraic methods. These tools are used to analyze combinatorial structures such as words, permutations, subsets, functions, graphs, trees, lattice paths, and much more. Part II cover topics in algebraic combinatorics including group actions, permutation statistics, symmetric functions, and tableau combinatorics. This edition provides greater coverage of the use of ordinary and exponential generating functions as a problem-solving tool. Along with two new chapters, several new sections, and improved exposition throughout, the textbook is brimming with many examples and exercises of various levels of difficulty.
