Brick City’s infamous kingpin known as the Mayor is shockingly released after serving twelve consecutive summers of the lifelong incarceration that he was originally sentenced to. He owes all thanks to his larger than life, ghetto fabulous attorney, Tony Austin. The twelve year layoff has the Mayor feeling as if the streets miss him and his prosperous hustle game. He feels that the game is in dire need of his expertise to pump life back into it. His hood politics are in order as he embarks on a new and improved campaign. He’s been studying his blueprint for well over a decade and it’s now time to go to work. His mission is simple and smooth, so he thinks, as he puts the wheels and soldiers in place to regain control of the city. The Mayor’s plan seems to be hater and snitch proof for the moment, but that moment doesn’t last very long. His primary goal is to restore the city and lift the recession his way. Nothing will stop him; not even the gang leaders who are now in control or the Feds who trail him step by step. He will stop at nothing until his operation takeover mission has been completed. Will his mission be completed or will he go down in history as just another used-to-be-kingpin whose time has run out?

Just as the SPIRIT of the Revolutionary solder at Valley Forge Was not crushed, so I wish and pray they will join and be come our American Spirit that will preserver and defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. That their spirit will be the same as every crisis and war we faced and every war we won since our forefathers pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor. The same spirit that created the best country in the world that we now in. A reminder, Abraham Lincoln said "We will never be destroyed by a foreign enemy, will be defeated by the enemy from within. I hope and pray this is not prophetic. President Kennedy said when we faced another crisis, "Ask not what your country can co for you, and ask what you can do for your country". My challenge to all is, what are you willing to stick your neck out for? Is it Liberty and freedom or the slavery of Socialism?

Download or read book Zhao Ziyang and China s Political Future written by Guoguang Wu and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-05-13 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What legacies have previous reformers like Zhao Ziyang left to today’s China? Does China have feasible political alternatives to today’s repressive ‘market Leninism’ and corrupt ‘state capitalism’? Does Zhao’s legacy indicate an alternative to the past and for the future? For those who are familiar with the development of Chinese politics since the reform years, Zhao is now widely regarded as a major architect of the nation’s profound transition. His contributions to China’s post-Mao development are rich and multi faceted, including those on rural and urban economic reforms extending to accountable governance, liberal policies concerning domestic affairs and China’s foreign relations. Featuring contributions from leading experts in the field such as Richard Baum and Xiaonong Cheng this book explores the historical development of China’s political reform issues, and how his political legacies are relevant to China’s political development since the 1980s to the future. Using recently translated recollection articles by veteran reformers who worked with Zhao in the 1980s, like Du Runsheng, An Zhiwen, Li Rui, Bao Tong, Zhao Ziyang and China's Political Future is a valuable contribution for students and researchers interested in the Chinese politics, Asian politics and political development in Asia.
Download or read book From Jail to Jail written by Tan Malaka and published by Ohio University Press. This book was released on 2020-03-10 with total page 906 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From Jail to Jail is the political autobiography of Sutan Ibrahim gelar Tan Malaka, an enigmatic and colorful political thinker of twentieth-century Asia, who was one of the most influential figures of the Indonesian Revolution. Variously labeled a communist, Trotskyite, and nationalist, Tan Malaka managed to run afoul of nearly every political group and faction involved in the Indonesian struggle for independence. During his decades of political activity, he spent periods of exile and hiding in nearly every country in Southeast Asia. As a Marxist who was expelled from and became a bitter enemy of his country’s Communist Party and as a nationalist who was imprisoned and murdered by his own government’s forces as a danger to its anticolonial struggle, Tan Malaka was and continues to be soaked in contradiction and controversy. Translated by Helen Javis and with a new introduction from Harry A. Poeze, this edition of From Jail to Jail contextualizes the life and political accomplishments of Tan Malaka in one of the few known autobiographies by a Marxist of this political era and region.

Download or read book Democracy within Parties written by Reuven Y. Hazan and published by OUP Oxford. This book was released on 2010-07-01 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Can too much participation harm democracy? Democratic theory places great importance upon the conduct of elections, but it is not often recognized that the electoral game takes place in two arenas, not only between parties but also within them. This pioneering book presents a new approach to understanding political parties. It sheds light on the inner dynamics of party politics and offers the first comprehensive analysis of one of the most important processes any party undertakes - its process of candidate selection. Candidate selection methods are the mechanisms by which a party chooses its candidates for the general elections. It may be the function that separates parties from other organizations. For such an important function, this field has certainly faced a dearth of serious investigation. Hazan and Rahat, the leading scholars on this topic, conduct an in-depth analysis of the consequences of different candidate selection methods on democracy. This book is a culmination of almost two decades of research and defines the field of candidate selection. Part I of the book delineates candidate selection methods based on four major dimensions: candidacy; the selectorate; decentralization; and voting versus appointment systems. Part II analyses the political consequences of using different candidate selection methods according to four important aspects of democracy: participation; representation; competition; and responsiveness. The book ends with a proposed candidate selection method that optimally balances all four of the democratic aspects concurrently, and answers the question 'Is the most participatory candidate selection method necessarily the best one for democracy?' Comparative Politics is a series for students, teachers, and researchers of political science that deals with contemporary government and politics. Global in scope, books in the series are characterised by a stress on comparative analysis and strong methodological rigour. The series is published in association with the European Consortium for Political Research. For more information visit www.essex.ac.uk/ecpr The General Editor is Professor David M.
