Book Mission Partnership in Creative Tension

Download or read book Mission Partnership in Creative Tension written by Samuel Cueva and published by Langham Monographs. This book was released on 2015-04-14 with total page 501 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Samuel Cueva has refined his concept of ‘partnership in mission’ by advocating the use of reciprocal contextual collaboration in this important contribution to scholarly reflection on contemporary missiology. Referencing historical, theological and functional aspects of how mission has been carried out, as well as analyzing it’s impact on the evangelical movement, the author identifies that mission always develops with positive and negative tensions. Emphasizing an understanding of current missions which include traditional, networking and emergent models, and how they can be combined, interconnected and interchanged, the author proposes a fresh model that ensures the suitability for every mission context.

This book was released on 1975 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Both versions of this periodical contain brief articles highlighting particular PIM projects. Partners in Mission: FOCUS also included, in most issues, a list of projects needing financial assistance, along with articles and interviews pertaining to mission work. It also ran an article, editorial in nature, regarding a timely issue in mission work. The change to a new format brought additional features as well. Generally, each issue of Focus on People in Mission began with a news item on the front page and then moved on to reports from PIM staff, individual parishes, and any news items contributed by congregations and individuals. The new format retained the specific PIM project updates and spotlights. The final page consisted of PIM project updates or a feature titled, "Pilgrim People, " which highlighted various mission groups at home and abroad. The mission periodicals have complete sets of unbound copies, in addition to the complete sets of bound copies. The unbound copies were kept for purposes of photocopying.

Download or read book Women in Mission written by Lami Rikwe Ibrahim Bakari and published by Langham Monographs. This book was released on 2021-08-02 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Africa and around the world, the church has been established through the faithful effort of men and women working together for the sake of the gospel. However, failure to acknowledge women’s contributions in evangelism and ministry – or to integrate women’s stories into the history of the church – has led to treating women as secondary within the body of Christ. Women in Mission explores the powerful legacy of women in SIM (formerly, Sudan Interior Mission) and the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), demonstrating that from the beginning women have been active and essential participants in the work of God in Nigeria. Dr. Lami Rikwe Ibrahim Bakari examines various theological and cultural frameworks for understanding the role of women in society before delving into the rich historical reality of women’s involvement in Nigerian church history. This study is a powerful reminder that God’s call to partner in the gospel is not limited by sex, and that it is precisely in recognizing women as primary and active participants in God’s mission – maximizing and not suppressing their giftings –that the kingdom of God is best served.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Korean missions movement is perhaps the most signiþcant story of the Church in the world over the past one hundred years. Today Korea can boast of being the leading sender of missionaries per head of population. Yet this movement has not been well integrated into the global mission community and also this community has at times failed to understand and learn from this tremendous work of God. I am excited that God has brought together a unique body of people to wrestle with these issues. This work will help bring about much needed collaboration and develop each other's strengths in an environment of mutual respect. --MALCOLM L. McGREGOR, SIM International Director Accountability in Missions is a remarkable book, exploring the full range of mission accountability issues--strategic, þnancial, and relational--from both Korean and North American perspectives. This is global missiology made practical and accessible to all missions practitioners. The many articles that penetrate the mysteries of Korean and North American interaction especially make it a must-read book for all Koreans and North Americans working together. --STEVE STRAUSS, Professor of Mission and Intercultural Studies, Dallas Theological Seminary This collection of essays provides a biblical and theological basis for accountability and brings voices East and West, demonstrating that accountability--to God and to others--is a universal principle, not linked to one culture or context (i.e., Western). Further, the collection is eminently practical, addressing matters of governance (decision-making), þnance, and personal integrity. To all mission leaders I say: read this book! Actually, read it but also þnd colleagues with whom to discuss and digest these principles and review our mission practices. --GORDON T. SMITH, President, reSource Leadership International

Book Kingdom Partnerships for Synergy in Missions

Download or read book Kingdom Partnerships for Synergy in Missions written by William D. Taylor and published by William Carey Publishing. This book was released on 1994-06-01 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The church/missions community must move beyond superficial fellowship and simple networking to true partnerships, cooperative ventures, and the sharing of resources. This will result in synergy - a phenomenon where the output is greater than the sum of its parts. Twenty-two missions leaders from around the world speak candidly to these issues and call us to reflection, relationship and engagement without which the nations of this world will not be discipled for Christ.

Book Brands on a Mission

Download or read book Brands on a Mission written by Myriam Sidibe and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-05-10 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Winner of the Bronze 2021 AXIOM Business Book Award in the category of Philanthropy / Nonprofit / Sustainability. Brands on a Mission explores the importance of creating a performance culture that is built on driving impact through purpose, and the type of talent required to drive these transformational changes within companies – from CEO to brand developers. Using evidence from interviews and stories from over 100 CEOs, thought leaders and brand managers, the book presents an emergent model that organisations can follow to build purpose into their growth strategy – and shows how to bridge the gap between Brand Say and Brand Do. Readers will learn from the real experts in the field: how Paul Polman, former CEO of Unilever, built purpose into the DNA of his company; what keeps Alan Jope (new CEO, Unilever) and Emmanuel Faber (CEO, Danone) awake at night; and how brand developers from Durex, Dove, Discovery and LIXIL have made choices and the reasons behind them. In this book you will learn how a soap brand Lifebuoy taught one billion people about hygiene, how a beer is tackling gender-based violence, and how a toothpaste is tackling school absenteeism amongst many others. Renowned experts like Peter Piot (Director, London School of Health and Tropical Medicine), Michael Porter (Professor, Harvard School of Business), Jane Nelson (Director, Corporate Responsibility Initiative, Harvard Kennedy School) and Susie Orbach (leading feminist and formerly professor, London School of Economics) also share examples, data and their everyday experiences of helping corporates create a culture of purpose. And leading NGOs and UN experts like Lawrence Haddad (Executive Director, GAIN) and Natalia Kanem (Executive Director of UNFPA) will recount how the public and private sector have worked together to create an accelerated path to reaching the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. The book provides a clear pathway of how to take brands through the journey of developing impactful social missions and driving business growth, and is an essential guide for both managers and students alike.

Download or read book Partnership as Mission written by Kenneth Gray and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2023-11-10 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This uniquely Canadian volume tells stories of Ellie Johnson, missiologist and director of Partnerships at the Anglican Church of Canada from 1994 to 2008. More than that, this book tells of God’s mission, and how the Anglican Church of Canada participated in that mission with our ecumenical partners. Since the Anglican Congress of 1963, through the years of the ecumenical justice coalitions of the 1970s and 1980s, through the drastic organizational restructuring of General Synod in the first decade of the 2000s, change in the church has been continuous and relentless. Ellie’s skill in managing this change remains inspirational today. In standing with residential school survivors, identifying systemic racism, seeking peace and ecojustice, and contributing to global conversations about mission priorities and practices, Ellie shared her experience and insight widely and effectively. Through personal memories and tributes, through detailed historical storytelling, friends, family, and colleagues describe their own rich experience working with Ellie. Others raise questions about the face and context of mission today, recalling Ellie’s favorite dictum: all mission is local. The collection concludes with some of Ellie’s own unpublished words. There is so much to appreciate about this deeply spiritual person, whose legacy lives on, as we draw on her legacy to find resilience and strength for today’s demanding ecojustice journey.
