Book Parisians in the Country Esprios Classics

Download or read book Parisians in the Country Esprios Classics written by Honoré de Balzac and published by . This book was released on 2023-05-11 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Honoré de Balzac; born Honoré Balzac 20 May 1799 - 18 August 1850) was a French novelist and playwright. The novel sequence La Comédie humaine, which presents a panorama of post-Napoleonic French life, is generally viewed as his magnum opus. Owing to his keen observation of detail and unfiltered representation of society, Balzac is regarded as one of the founders of realism in European literature. He is renowned for his multi-faceted characters; even his lesser characters are complex, morally ambiguous and fully human. Inanimate objects are imbued with character as well; the city of Paris, a backdrop for much of his writing, takes on many human qualities. His writing influenced many famous writers, including the novelists Émile Zola, Charles Dickens, Marcel Proust, Gustave Flaubert, and Henry James, and filmmakers François Truffaut and Jacques Rivette.

Sidonie's right hand Clasps an important adjunct of the homely game - a little cluster of red raspberries. In the absorbed ardor of pursuit the Little Crook, as they call her, holds it quite mechanically, and from her tightly clinched fingers trickle drops of the crimson juice as she runs. Good, little one, good, cries the little old man, who is highly amused at the endeavors of the unfortunate lame girl. Book The Parisians Vol 2 of 2 Classic Reprint

Download or read book The Parisians Vol 2 of 2 Classic Reprint written by Lord Lytton and published by . This book was released on 2015-07-26 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Parisians, Vol. 2 of 2 The Parisians and Kenelm Chillingly were begun about the same time, and had their common origin in the same central idea. That idea first found fantastic expression in The Coming Race; and the three books, taken together, constitute a special group distinctly apart from all the other works of their author. The satire of his earlier novels is a protest against false social respectabilities; the humour of his later ones is a protest against the disrespect of social realities. By the first he sought to promote social sincerity; and the free play of personal character; by the last, to encourage mutual charity and sympathy amongst all classes on whose inter-relation depends the character of society itself. But in these three books, his latest fictions, the moral purpose is more definite and exclusive. Each of them is an expostulation against what seemed to him the perilous popularity of certain social and political theories, or a warning against the influence of certain intellectual tendencies upon individual character and national life. Download or read book Paul and Virginia Esprios Classics written by Bernadin de Saint-Pierre and published by Blurb. This book was released on 2020-12-12 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Paul et Virginie (or Paul and Virginia) is a novel by Jacques-Henri Bernardin de Saint-Pierre, first published in 1788. The novel's title characters are friends since birth who fall in love. The story is set on the island of Mauritius under French rule, then named Île de France. Written on the eve of the French Revolution, the novel is recognized as Bernardin's finest work. It records the fate of a child of nature corrupted by the artificial sentimentality of the French upper classes in the late eighteenth century. Bernardin de Saint-Pierre lived on the island for a time and based part of the novel on a shipwreck he witnessed there.
