Esta situacion lleva a la nina a crear amigos imaginarios con los que habla constantemente, confiandoles todo lo que a ella le va aconteciendo durante el transcurso de su corta vida. Ora a Dios para que todo cambie y sea diferente y para que pueda encontrar al amor de su vida, que es su padre. Ademas pide poder tener mas tiempo a su lado a quien tiene cerca que es su madre, ya que la ve muy poco y cuando eso pasa ella no le presta atencion, razon por la cual el vacio de soledad y desamor se hace mas grande y mas constante. Decide entonces buscar la forma de comunicarse con su mama y es cuando se le ocurre la grandiosa idea de entrar en contacto con ella a traves de cartas que siempre dejara sobre su cama. Para esto se va a su lugar preferido de la casa, que es el jardin trasero y es ahi que rodeada de sus "Amigos" escribe la mayoria de las cartas. En ellas plasma y nos hace ver que los hijos no son culpables de los errores que cometemos los padres y que ellos sufren en silencio sin entender que esta pasando.
