Book Delusion And Logic In Spirituality

Download or read book Delusion And Logic In Spirituality written by Ali Horriyat and published by . This book was released on 2020-04-22 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spirituality is on the rise. Religious tension is on a higher trajectory. Every corner of the world has a tragic memory of religious violence. Spiritual guidance is meant to lead us into a harmonious unity. Religions are spiritual formations meant to embrace virtues. We observe much violence due to upholding religious tenets. We are overcome with religious delusions. We insist we are on the right path to a promised heaven but our imbalanced lives point to misdirection. We keenly follow religions, abide by rituals, adhere to virtues, and perform demands.Spirituality is hijacked by religious institutions. Spirituality is being sold in a marketplace by a cunning clergy to a gullible buyer. We are being manipulated by religious organizations misusing faith for selfish egotistic pursuits. We are met with hypocritical guidance of powerful organized religions. They call for global peace but sacrifice us for religious politics. They ask for donations to eradicate poverty but hide coffers of wealth. They forgive our sins, grant us heaven, and bribe God morally bankrupting us for a greedy pursuance of power through wealth. In this book, Ali Horriyat details a return to a purified spirituality. Delusions formed by the ego have caused a religious diversion from the spiritual path into the state of pure love energy. This book outlines the PLEM model specifically designed to fight the ego's transgressions by redirecting the soul onto a transformative spiritual journey. By adopting this model, delusions shall be dismissed on a logical path of purposeful effort transferring energy to pure love form.

Book Hearing Voices Demonic and Divine

Download or read book Hearing Voices Demonic and Divine written by Christopher C. H. Cook and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-12-07 with total page 462 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Open Access version of this book, available at www.taylorfrancis.com/books/9781472453983, has been made available under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial-No Derivative 4.0 license. Experiences of hearing the voice of God (or angels, demons, or other spiritual beings) have generally been understood either as religious experiences or else as a feature of mental illness. Some critics of traditional religious faith have dismissed the visions and voices attributed to biblical characters and saints as evidence of mental disorder. However, it is now known that many ordinary people, with no other evidence of mental disorder, also hear voices and that these voices not infrequently include spiritual or religious content. Psychological and interdisciplinary research has shed a revealing light on these experiences in recent years, so that we now know much more about the phenomenon of "hearing voices" than ever before. The present work considers biblical, historical, and scientific accounts of spiritual and mystical experiences of voice hearing in the Christian tradition in order to explore how some voices may be understood theologically as revelatory. It is proposed that in the incarnation, Christian faith finds both an understanding of what it is to be fully human (a theological anthropology), and God’s perfect self-disclosure (revelation). Within such an understanding, revelatory voices represent a key point of interpersonal encounter between human beings and God.
