Do personal disasters destroy you, or do they make you stronger? And are your eyes open to behold the wonder and the beauty of life, even as you grieve? In Our Visible God, author Patricia Aldridge-Hinkle shares her own touching and heartfelt life narrative—a narrative about a very happy woman whose life has been filled with both grief and intense joy and thanksgiving. Her love for God and for others has enabled her to see God’s hand and guidance leading her through tough times with courage and with confidence in her Lord. Through her journey, God teaches her how to praise Him even in her darkest days. With faith, we can see God revealed both in ordinary and extraordinary situations, and seeing God is not necessarily a supernatural event—though it can be if God chooses to make it one. Most of the time seeing God is an exciting state of mind and an attitude. It can put a smile on our faces and a bounce in our strides as we are led daily into ministry to others, for “blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8).

  • Author : Jonathan King
  • Publisher : Lexham Press

Download or read book The Beauty of the Lord written by Jonathan King and published by Lexham Press. This book was released on 2018-05-30 with total page 452 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why is God's beauty often absent from our theology? Rarely do theologians take up the theme of God's beauty—even more rarely do they consider how God's beauty should shape the task of theology itself. But the psalmist says that the heart of the believer's desire is to behold the beauty of the Lord. In The Beauty of the Lord, Jonathan King restores aesthetics as not merely a valid lens for theological reflection, but an essential one. Jesus, our incarnate Redeemer, displays the Triune God's beauty in his actions and person, from creation to final consummation. How can and should theology better reflect this unveiled beauty? The Beauty of the Lord is a renewal of a truly aesthetic theology and a properly theological aesthetics.

Book Seeing and savouring Jesus Christ

Download or read book Seeing and savouring Jesus Christ written by JOHN PIPER and published by Inter-Varsity Press. This book was released on 2020-05-21 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who is Jesus Christ? You've never met Him in person, and you don't know anyone who has. But there is a way to know who he is. How? Jesus Christ - the divine Person revealed in the Bible - has a unique excellence and a spiritual beauty that speaks directly to our souls and says, "Yes, this is truth." It's like seeing the sun and knowing that it is light, or tasting honey and knowing that it is sweet. The depth and complexity of Jesus shatter our simple mental frameworks. He baffled proud scribes with his wisdom but was understood and loved by children. He calmed a raging storm with a word but would not get himself down from the cross. Look at the Jesus of the Bible. Keep your eyes open, and fill them with the portrait of Jesus in God's Word. Jesus said, "If anyone's will is to do God's will, He will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority." Ask God for the grace to do His will, and you will see the truth of His Son. John Piper has written this book in the hope that all will see Jesus for who he really is and will come to enjoy him above all else.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Does God exist? When God took me, the author, into the countless heavens, He said to me, “Come inside of me. Let's fly vertically. You shall experience how my existence and everything else began in detail.” At this point of dark eternity, God revealed and promised me, “Where you are standing now, there has never been any being, nor any human soul, before. You will be called my eternal heart. Return to mankind and reveal to them: Who I am. Reveal everything you have heard, seen and experienced. I will always be with you. A few thousand years ago, I appeared as a visible God on Mount Sinai. But My own chosen people did not recognize My value. Tell humanity and the German nation: I swear by your name, Zahid, that if you call my name and ask me to come to earth, I will appear on a mountain in Germany. Everyone who is on the mountain on that day will see me with their own eyes as a visible God. Prepare my children for this most supreme event.” God

Book The Invisible God

Download or read book The Invisible God written by Ray C. van Tassell Jr and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2018-06-20 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: John 1:18, "No man has seen GOD at any time; the Only Begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him." GOD is a spirit and is therefore invisible to all human creatures unless He opens our eyes to see Him as He did to Abraham in Gen. 18. However, He has a plan to make Himself visible through the highest member of His creation, and that is Man. The one and only man who has been brought forth in the image of GOD was Jesus, His Only Begotten Son, the firstborn of every creature. The men who had the privilege of being discipled by GOD's son testified that they had seen and felt and heard the invisible word of life walking among them. "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life." (1 John 1:1) However, this was merely the beginning of the plan of GOD to make Himself visible to all of creation. The door would be opened to many more sons after Jesus' death and resurrection. "But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of GOD, even to them that believe on His name." (John 1:12) This book addresses the mystery of how ordinary men and women can also be made into the image of the invisible GOD. "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Cor. 3:18) And we find that the whole creation is eagerly awaiting this manifestation of the sons of GOD whose mission is to deliver all things from the bondage of corruption.

Book Unseen

    Book Details:
  • Author : Sara Hagerty
  • Publisher : Zondervan
  • Release : 2017-08-29
  • ISBN : 0310339987
  • Pages : 240 pages

Download or read book Unseen written by Sara Hagerty and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2017-08-29 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How do we find contentment in God when we feel so hidden? Sara Hagerty unfolds the truths found in the biblical story of Mary of Bethany to discover the scandalous love of God and explore the spiritual richness of being hidden in him. Every heart longs to be seen and understood. Yet most of our lives is unwitnessed. We spend our days working, driving, parenting. We sometimes spend whole seasons feeling unnoticed and unappreciated. In Unseen, Sara Hagerty suggests that this is exactly what God intended. He is the only One who truly knows us. He is the only One who understands the value of the unseen in our lives. When this truth seeps into our souls, we realize that only when we hide ourselves in God can we give ourselves to others in true freedom--and know the joy of a deeper relationship with the God who sees us. Our culture applauds what we can produce, what we can show, what we can upload to social media. Only when we give all of ourselves to God--unedited, abandoned, apparently wasteful in its lack of productivity--can we live out who God created us to be. As Hagerty writes, "Maybe my seemingly unproductive, looking-up-at-Him life produces awe among the angels." Through an eloquent exploration of both personal and biblical story, Hagerty calls us to offer every unseen minute of our lives to God. God is in the secret places of our lives that no one else witnesses. But we've not been relegated to these places. We've been invited. We may be "wasting" ourselves in a hidden corner today: The cubicle on the fourth floor. The hospital bedside of an elderly parent. The laundry room. But these are the places God uses to meet us with a radical love. These are the places that produce the kind of unhinged love in us that gives everything at His feet, whether or not anyone else ever proclaims our name, whether or not anyone else ever sees. God's invitation is not just for a season or a day. It is the question of our lives: "When no one else applauds you, when it makes no sense, when you see no results--will you waste your love on Me?"

Book God Has a Wonderful Plan for Your Life

Download or read book God Has a Wonderful Plan for Your Life written by Ray Comfort and published by Living Waters. This book was released on 2010-05-17 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why do 9 out of 10 children raised in Christian homes leave the Church? Why do many professing Christians show little or no evidence for their faith? Why do 80-90% of those making decisions for Christ fall away from the faith? For decades, the world's most popular gospel message has been drawing the lost by promising God's wonderful plan for their life. But behind the facade of the "wonderful plan" message is the reality of the trials, temptation, and persecution that Jesus promised. How can we reconcile the two? In this life-changing book, best-selling author Ray Comfort explores whether this common gospel approach aligns with real life--and with Scripture. The vital biblical principles he reveals will force you to reexamine your ideas about the gospel--and will teach you how to reach unbelievers the way God intended. A must-read for all who care about the lost. Over a quarter million copies in print!
