Book Light in Our Dwellings

Download or read book Light in Our Dwellings written by Julius A. Von Poseck and published by Irving Risch. This book was released on 2015-04-10 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A brother in the Lord sometime ago remarked to me, how little, in writings and oral ministry, the subject of Christian family relationships was touched upon, although, as to practical truth, there could be scarcely a more important subject than this, seeing the alarming progress of rationalism and infidelity in England as well as on the Continent, and its baneful effect upon family life, in blighting natural affections and undermining, especially in the rising generation the sense of reverence for all divinely instituted authorities. Being impressed with the truth of his remarks, I have since in some places, given a course of Lectures on the Christian's family relationships. But in doing so, the immense importance of the subject has grown so much upon me, that I resolved to commit them to print, only in an entirely new form and very much enlarged. The reason of the reticence on this subject seems to lie partly in the delicate nature of family relationships, and the shrinking from even the appearance of an intrusion upon their privacy, and partly in our natural inclination to think more of our claims upon the fellow members of our family, than of our duties towards them, and thus to emphasise portions of truth which appear to support the former, whilst less heeding those which refer to the latter. As to the first reason, I can but repeat what I have said in these pages, that nothing is farther from my intention than to trespass upon the sacred confines of family relationships, which none respects more than the writer. And as to the second reason, we must not be wiser than God and His Word. Divine truth is alwayssimple, absolute, and general. It applies with equal force and authority to sinners and saints of all nationalities. For "there is no difference." Both the old and the new nature are the same in every country. On the other hand, divine truth is intensely individual, and has not been given us to read and apply it to others, but to ourselves. I need not fear, therefore, that the honest Christian reader will turn the truths sought to be expounded, to a different use to what they are intended, and commit these pages, however imperfect their contents, to Him, Who is "The God of love and peace," for His own blessing that we may "be perfect, of good comfort, of one mind, and live in peace;" adorning by our walk at home, in the world, and in the Church, the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things, for the glory of His Name. Amen.

Book excerpt: Reproduction, Multiplication and Fruitfulness are all part of God's plan for mankind. How well we have followed that plan has raised concerns in heaven. God is calling us to return to His perfect way of being parents and children, receiving and stewarding our inheritances, and leaving legacies that will benefit future generations. This book reminds us and urges us to return to the foundational principles, morals and values that are slowly disappearing from among many family units and ultimately from within our societies. The more we advance the greater emphasis must be placed on upholding established standards, teachings and ways of fostering good human relations so that we can live and prosper according to God's Will.Today's generation is a reflection of what was caught from the last generation. What will the future generations look like? That will be determined by the decisions you and I make today. Choose God's way!

Book My Family Through My Heavenly Father s Eyes

Download or read book My Family Through My Heavenly Father s Eyes written by Lori J. Moss and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2011-03 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Melanie Moss Mangum, Donald Moss, Jr., Donald Moss, Sr. Stephanie Moss BattleInspiration for this book came from my mother's comments about my children's eyes. She often remarks, "your children have eyes just like Donald" (their Father). Stephanie, my oldest daughter, has lashes that are very long and silky, complementing her beautiful brown skin. Melanie, my middle child, has dark smooth brows that perfectly accent her stunning dark eyes. DJ, my handsome son has gorgeous eyes that seem as if they don't even belong on such a robust young man. While my children do have various traits of mine, it amazes me how they all have their father's eyes. As I pondered on this comment early one Thursday morning, this natural reality became a spiritual truth. I thought about the importance of having your father's eyes-your Heavenly Father's eyes. It is important to be able to look at people and situations and see them the way God sees them. We do not see them with our natural eyes but with our hearts. We see them with hearts indwelled with the loving Spirit of Jesus Christ. Seeing them the way our Heavenly Father sees them is the only way to establish and to maintain loving relationships.Husbands with their Heavenly Father's eyes see their wives as a precious jewel; wives see their husbands as the spiritual leaders in the home. Parents see their children as special gifts from God. Children see their parents as people of honor. Family members see each other as spiritual support systems. Pastors see their members as precious souls. Congregations see their Pastors as leaders appointed by God.This study is designed to build relational bonds that are so strong in marriages, in our families and in our church families that Satan does not stand a chance at destroying them.

This book was released on 2011 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the first meeting of the Relief Society, Sister Emma Smith said, “We are going to do something extraordinary.” She was right. The history of Relief Society is filled with examples of ordinary women who have accomplished extraordinary things as they have exercised faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Relief Society was established to help prepare daughters of God for the blessings of eternal life. The purposes of Relief Society are to increase faith and personal righteousness, strengthen families and homes, and provide relief by seeking out and helping those in need. Women fulfill these purposes as they seek, receive, and act on personal revelation in their callings and in their personal lives. This book is not a chronological history, nor is it an attempt to provide a comprehensive view of all that the Relief Society has accomplished. Instead, it provides a historical view of the grand scope of the work of the Relief Society. Through historical accounts, personal experiences, scriptures, and words of latter-day prophets and Relief Society leaders, this book teaches about the responsibilities and opportunities Latter-day Saint women are given in Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness.

Book The Storm Tossed Family

Download or read book The Storm Tossed Family written by Russell D. Moore and published by B&H Publishing Group. This book was released on 2018-09-15 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christianity Today "Beautiful Orthodoxy" Book of the Year in 2019. Why do our families have so much power over us? In The Storm-Tossed Family, bestselling author Russell Moore (Onward, Christianity Today's 2016 "Book of the Year Award Winner") teaches readers whether you are married or single, whether you long for a child or shepherding a full house, you are part of a family. Family is difficult because family—every family—is an echo of the gospel. Family can be the source of some of the most transcendent human joy, and family can leave us crumpled up on the side of the road. Family can make us who we are, and family can break our hearts. Why would this social arrangement have that much power, for good or for ill, over us?
