Chiefly, it covers a range of universal ideas, beliefs, values, behaviors, criterion, and measures which may be both explicit and implicit. The study on organizational culture has gained much attention among scholars in many areas of study, just like in educational field. Institutions have a model of behavior--a series of beliefs, attitudes, traditions, perspectives, principles and dogmas. The culture of an institution, which has a thorough effect on the performance, determines arrangements, decisions, human resources, and individuals' response to circumstantial challenges. Since the features of organizational culture are complicated and hard to assess as a terminology, a qualitative research design is commonly used for the studies on organizational culture. Yet, several research studies have displayed that it is quite possible to work on organizational culture by employing a quantitative research design. With all these in mind, based upon both quantitative and qualitative research designs, the purpose of this research is to determine the perceptions of the directors and staff of educational institutions on the organizational culture of the schools they work at. In order to obtain information on the mentioned aspect, a questionnaire and an interview were administered to primary, secondary, middle, and high school managers and their personnel. The findings of the study suggested a spectrum of perspectives on the mentioned terminology.

The study used PSL SEM for analysis and found that the organisational culture explain 35.9% the knowledge sharing practices of the teachers working in the higher education sector of the state. Out of the factors of organisational culture, communication, trust and organizational structure influence significantly the knowledge sharing practice of teachers.

Book excerpt: The present study exploratively investigated the role of organizational culture in performance management practices in Kenyan higher education institutions. Specifically, the influence of organizational culture on the purpose and extent to which performance information is used was explored. Qualitative interviews were conducted followed by quantitative surveys, which were filled out by teaching and non-teaching staff in various universities in Kenya. The findings provide evidence of linkages between performance information use, diversity of measure and organizational culture. It has been established that, depending on whether flexibility or control values are dominant in the culture of an institution; performance information is used in varying ways. Institutions where flexibility values were dominant in their organizational cultures used performance information for attention focus, monitoring and decision making to a higher extent than universities where control values were dominant. Institutions where Flexibility values were dominant also showed a more diverse set of performance measures than in those where control values were dominant.

Book excerpt: This study determined the impact of organizational culture on institutional effectiveness in a local higher education institution. It utilized a cross sectional, explanatory design with the questionnaire as the main data gathering tool. Seventy-five (75) personnel participated in the study. Cameron-Ettington's Typology of Organizational Culture and Cameron's nine dimensions of institutional effectiveness were used to determine the organizational culture and institutional effectiveness. Pearson r and partial correlation were used to test the degree of relationship between organizational culture and institutional effectiveness of local HEI when moderated by profile variables. Findings show that adhocracy and bureaucracy culture are the dominant cultures manifested. Respondents rated student educational satisfaction, faculty and administrator employment satisfaction, professional development and quality of faculty, organizational health and rewards, recognitions and communication as Somewhat Agree. The study confirmed that organizational culture manifested a strong positive relationship with institutional effectiveness. Market culture manifested high or strong relationship with institutional effectiveness while the adhocracy, bureaucracy and clan cultures manifested only a moderate relationship. All profile variables included in the study strongly influence organizational culture's impact on institutional effectiveness.
