Book Discrete H Optimization

Download or read book Discrete H Optimization written by Charles K. Chui and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 271 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discrete H¿ Optimization is concerned with the study of H¿ optimization for digital signal processing and discrete-time control systems. The first three chapters present the basic theory and standard methods in digital filtering and systems from the frequency-domain approach, followed by a discussion of the general theory of approximation in Hardy spaces. AAK theory is introduced, first for finite-rank operators and then more generally, before being extended to the multi-input/multi-output setting. This mathematically rigorous book is self-contained and suitable for self-study. The advanced mathematical results derived here are applicable to digital control systems and digital filtering.

Book Discrete Systems

Download or read book Discrete Systems written by Magdi S Mahmoud and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 686 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: More and more digital devices are being used for informa tion processing and control purposes in a variety of systems applications, including industrial processes, power networks, biological systems and communication networks. This trend has been helped by the advent of microprocessors and the consequent availability of cheap distributed computing power. For those applications, where digital devices are used, it is reasonable to model the system in discrete-time. In addition there are other application areas, e.g. econometric systems, business systems, certain command and control systems, environmental systems, where the underlying models are in discrete-time and here discrete-time approaches to analysis and control are the most appropriate. In order to deal with these two situations, there has been a lot of interest in developing techLiques which allow us to do analysis, design and control of discrete-time systems. This book provides a comprehensive treatment of discrete time dynamical systems. It covers the topics of modelling, optimization techniques and control design. The book is designed to serve as a text for teaching at the first year graduate level. The material included is organized into eight chapters.

Book Optimal Control Methods for Linear Discrete Time Economic Systems

Download or read book Optimal Control Methods for Linear Discrete Time Economic Systems written by Y. Murata and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As our title reveals, we focus on optimal control methods and applications relevant to linear dynamic economic systems in discrete-time variables. We deal only with discrete cases simply because economic data are available in discrete forms, hence realistic economic policies should be established in discrete-time structures. Though many books have been written on optimal control in engineering, we see few on discrete-type optimal control. More over, since economic models take slightly different forms than do engineer ing ones, we need a comprehensive, self-contained treatment of linear optimal control applicable to discrete-time economic systems. The present work is intended to fill this need from the standpoint of contemporary macroeconomic stabilization. The work is organized as follows. In Chapter 1 we demonstrate instru ment instability in an economic stabilization problem and thereby establish the motivation for our departure into the optimal control world. Chapter 2 provides fundamental concepts and propositions for controlling linear deterministic discrete-time systems, together with some economic applica tions and numerical methods. Our optimal control rules are in the form of feedback from known state variables of the preceding period. When state variables are not observable or are accessible only with observation errors, we must obtain appropriate proxies for these variables, which are called "observers" in deterministic cases or "filters" in stochastic circumstances. In Chapters 3 and 4, respectively, Luenberger observers and Kalman filters are discussed, developed, and applied in various directions. Noticing that a separation principle lies between observer (or filter) and controller (cf.

The systems proposed are applied to realistic models of unmanned systems and missiles, and digital implementation.

Book Discrete Time Inverse Optimal Control for Nonlinear Systems

Download or read book Discrete Time Inverse Optimal Control for Nonlinear Systems written by Edgar N. Sanchez and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-12-19 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discrete-Time Inverse Optimal Control for Nonlinear Systems proposes a novel inverse optimal control scheme for stabilization and trajectory tracking of discrete-time nonlinear systems. This avoids the need to solve the associated Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equation and minimizes a cost functional, resulting in a more efficient controller. Design More Efficient Controllers for Stabilization and Trajectory Tracking of Discrete-Time Nonlinear Systems The book presents two approaches for controller synthesis: the first based on passivity theory and the second on a control Lyapunov function (CLF). The synthesized discrete-time optimal controller can be directly implemented in real-time systems. The book also proposes the use of recurrent neural networks to model discrete-time nonlinear systems. Combined with the inverse optimal control approach, such models constitute a powerful tool to deal with uncertainties such as unmodeled dynamics and disturbances. Learn from Simulations and an In-Depth Case Study The authors include a variety of simulations to illustrate the effectiveness of the synthesized controllers for stabilization and trajectory tracking of discrete-time nonlinear systems. An in-depth case study applies the control schemes to glycemic control in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, to calculate the adequate insulin delivery rate required to prevent hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia levels. The discrete-time optimal and robust control techniques proposed can be used in a range of industrial applications, from aerospace and energy to biomedical and electromechanical systems. Highlighting optimal and efficient control algorithms, this is a valuable resource for researchers, engineers, and students working in nonlinear system control.

Book Optimization and Multiobjective Control of Time Discrete Systems

Download or read book Optimization and Multiobjective Control of Time Discrete Systems written by Dmitrii Lozovanu and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-04-21 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Richard Bellmann developed a theory of dynamic programming which is for many reasons still in the center of great interest. The authors present a new approach in the ?eld of the optimization and multi-objective control of time-discrete systems which is closely related to the work of Richard Bellmann. They develop their own concept and their extension to the optimization and multi-objective control of time-discrete systems as well as to dynamic networks and multilayered structures are very stimulating for further research. Di?erent perspectives of discrete control and optimal dynamic ?ow problems on networks are treated and characterized. Together with the algorithmic solutions a framework of multi-objective control problems is - rived. The conclusion with a real world example underlines the necessity and - portance of their theoretic framework. As they come back to the classical Bellmann concept of dynamic programming they stress and honor his basic concept without debase their own work. Multilayereddecisionprocessesaspartofthedesignandanalysisofcomplexsystems and networks will be essential in many ways and ?elds in the future.

Book Discrete Time Higher Order Sliding Mode

Download or read book Discrete Time Higher Order Sliding Mode written by Nalin Kumar Sharma and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-09-10 with total page 107 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph investigates the existence of higher order sliding mode in discrete-time systems and propounds a new concept of discrete-time higher order sliding mode. The authors propose a definition of discrete-time higher order sliding mode and a control law is designed by means of a concept for an uncertain linear-time invariant system, as well as the behavior of the closed-loop system is analyzed. Moreover, the book includes a thorough treatment of the probabilistic and non-deterministic case, i.e. stochastic discrete-time higher order sliding mode. The target audience primarily comprises research experts in control theory but the book may also be beneficial for graduate students alike.
