Book Operators Functions and Systems An Easy Reading

Download or read book Operators Functions and Systems An Easy Reading written by Nikolai K. Nikolski and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 2010-10-06 with total page 458 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Together with the companion volume by the same author, Operators, Functions, and Systems: An Easy Reading. Volume 1: Hardy, Hankel, and Toeplitz, Mathematical Surveys and Monographs, Vol. 92, AMS, 2002, this unique work combines four major topics of modern analysis and its applications: A. Hardy classes of holomorphic functions, B. Spectral theory of Hankel and Toeplitz operators, C. Function models for linear operators and free interpolations, and D. Infinite-dimensional system theory and signal processing. This volume contains Parts C and D. Function models for linear operators and free interpolations: This is a universal topic and, indeed, is the most influential operator theory technique in the post-spectral-theorem era. In this book, its capacity is tested by solving generalized Carleson-type interpolation problems. Infinite-dimensional system theory and signal processing: This topic is the touchstone of the three previously developed techniques. The presence of this applied topic in a pure mathematics environment reflects important changes in the mathematical landscape of the last 20 years, in that the role of the main consumer and customer of harmonic, complex, and operator analysis has more and more passed from differential equations, scattering theory, and probability to control theory and signal processing. This and the companion volume are geared toward a wide audience of readers, from graduate students to professional mathematicians. They develop an elementary approach to the subject while retaining an expert level that can be applied in advanced analysis and selected applications.

Book Factorization of Matrix Functions and Singular Integral Operators

Download or read book Factorization of Matrix Functions and Singular Integral Operators written by Prof. Kevin F. Clancey and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2013-11-21 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A few years aga the authors started a project of a book on the theory of systems of one-dimensional singular integral equa tions which was planned as a continuation of the monograph by one of the authors and N. Ya. Krupnik ~~ concerning scalar equa tions. This set of notes was initiated as a chapter dealing with problems of factorization of matrix functions vis-a-vis appli cations to systems of singular integral equations. Working systematically onthischapter and adding along the way new points of view, new proofs and results, we finally saw that the material connected with factorizations is of independent interest and we decided to publish this chapter as aseparate volume. In fact, because of recent activity, the amount of material was quite large and we quickly learned that we cannot cover all of the results in complete detail. We have tried to include a represen tative variety of all kinds of methods, techniques, results and applications. Apart of the current work exposes results from the Russian literature which have never appeared in English translation. We have also decided to reflect some of the recent results which make interesting connections between factorization of matrix functions and systems theory. The field remains very active and many results and connec tions are still not weIl understood. These notes should be viewed as a stepping stone to further development. The authors hope that sometime they will return to complete their original plan.

Book excerpt: An Essential Reference for Intermediate and Advanced R Programmers Advanced R presents useful tools and techniques for attacking many types of R programming problems, helping you avoid mistakes and dead ends. With more than ten years of experience programming in R, the author illustrates the elegance, beauty, and flexibility at the heart of R. The book develops the necessary skills to produce quality code that can be used in a variety of circumstances. You will learn: The fundamentals of R, including standard data types and functions Functional programming as a useful framework for solving wide classes of problems The positives and negatives of metaprogramming How to write fast, memory-efficient code This book not only helps current R users become R programmers but also shows existing programmers what’s special about R. Intermediate R programmers can dive deeper into R and learn new strategies for solving diverse problems while programmers from other languages can learn the details of R and understand why R works the way it does.

Book Generalized Functions Operator Theory and Dynamical Systems

Download or read book Generalized Functions Operator Theory and Dynamical Systems written by I Antoniou and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1998-12-23 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nobel prize winner Ilya Prigogine writes in his preface: "Irreversibility is a challenge to mathematics...[which] leads to generalized functions and to an extension of spectral analysis beyond the conventional Hilbert space theory." Meeting this challenge required new mathematical formulations-obstacles met and largely overcome thanks primarily to the contributors to this volume." This compilation of works grew out of material presented at the "Hyperfunctions, Operator Theory and Dynamical Systems" symposium at the International Solvay Institutes for Physics and Chemistry in 1997. The result is a coherently organized collective work that moves from general, widely applicable mathematical methods to ever more specialized physical applications. Presented in two sections, part one describes Generalized Functions and Operator Theory, part two addresses Operator Theory and Dynamical Systems. The interplay between mathematics and physics is now more necessary than ever-and more difficult than ever, given the increasing complexity of theories and methods. Here the topics include:

Book Systems Approximation Singular Integral Operators and Related Topics

Download or read book Systems Approximation Singular Integral Operators and Related Topics written by Alexander A. Borichev and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 536 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is devoted to some topical problems and applications of operator theory and its interplay with modern complex analysis. It consists of 20 selected survey papers that represent updated (mainly plenary) addresses to the IWOTA 2000 conference held at Bordeaux from June 13 to 16, 2000. The main subjects of the volume include: - spectral analysis of periodic differential operators and delay equations, stabilizing controllers, Fourier multipliers; - multivariable operator theory, model theory, commutant lifting theorems, coisometric realizations; - Hankel operators and forms; - operator algebras; - the Bellman function approach in singular integrals and harmonic analysis, singular integral operators and integral representations; - approximation in holomorphic spaces. These subjects are unified by the common "operator theoretic approach" and the systematic use of modern function theory techniques.

Book Complex Function Theory Operator Theory Schur Analysis and Systems Theory

Download or read book Complex Function Theory Operator Theory Schur Analysis and Systems Theory written by Daniel Alpay and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-09-19 with total page 578 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is dedicated to Victor Emmanuilovich Katsnelson on the occasion of his 75th birthday and celebrates his broad mathematical interests and contributions.Victor Emmanuilovich’s mathematical career has been based mainly at the Kharkov University and the Weizmann Institute. However, it also included a one-year guest professorship at Leipzig University in 1991, which led to him establishing close research contacts with the Schur analysis group in Leipzig, a collaboration that still continues today. Reflecting these three periods in Victor Emmanuilovich's career, present and former colleagues have contributed to this book with research inspired by him and presentations on their joint work. Contributions include papers in function theory (Favorov-Golinskii, Friedland-Goldman-Yomdin, Kheifets-Yuditskii) , Schur analysis, moment problems and related topics (Boiko-Dubovoy, Dyukarev, Fritzsche-Kirstein-Mädler), extension of linear operators and linear relations (Dijksma-Langer, Hassi-de Snoo, Hassi -Wietsma) and non-commutative analysis (Ball-Bolotnikov, Cho-Jorgensen).
