Download or read book The Master Set Universe written by Maxwell Katz and published by Janus Publishing Company Lim. This book was released on 2007 with total page 654 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Master Set Universe is an in-depth investigation, through the realms of Quantum Mechanics and Mathematics, of the concept of the Master Set, an all-encompassing 'every thing', entirely self-referential in nature. Maxwell Katz makes use of a number of analogies to illustrate his themes. The way in which the Master Set projects the illusion of a 'mechanical world', for example, is likened to a computer game, which plays out certain events although, at the same time, it contains infinite possibilities within itself. Meaning and truth are analysed in the light of this Projective Realm. There are no absolutes; meaning is simply a way that we define ourselves, giving us perspective in the way we perceive all 'other'. The overriding feature of the Master Set Universe is its Oneness. From it comes every thing; it is every thing.

The book examines his key theological insights and themes over seventy years and proposes that they are still relevant today for the Christian Community. He was a theologian and poet. He wrote about many theological topics: the significance of Jesus, the experiences of the disciples and their meaning for us, redemption, the Trinity, sexuality and ecclesiology, and original sin. But he is mainly known for being the theologian of desire: self-love to self-gift, desire is love trying to happen, to be myself for another, and the insight that there is no more wonderful reality than to be desired by the one you desire.
Download or read book Lessons of Lifelong Intimacy written by Michael Gurian and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2017-03-28 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From New York Times bestselling author Michael Gurian comes a groundbreaking plan for happiness in love and marriage that shows you how to build healthy boundaries, work through past hurts, and create greater intimacy by maintaining emotional separateness. Become separate from your partner yet also become closer—sounds counterintuitive, doesn’t it? With twenty-five years of family and marital counseling practice, Michael Gurian shows that “intimate separateness” is the key to creating a healthy partnership in life. Recent university studies show that the most frequent reason relationships dissolve is not abuse, alcoholism, money, or even infidelity, but rather a lack of emotional fulfillment. Most books on love and marriage focus on teaching communication and conflict skills, but neglect to help couples with the “other half” of intimacy—separateness. In this practical yet personal guide to love, Gurian details the benefits of creating a lifelong balance of closeness and separateness. He outlines a twelve-stage model created for his own private practice, which provides long-term goals and focal points for dialogue that can help couples work through arguments. Gurian also delves into differences in white and gray matter between the male and female brain (which may explain the varying needs for intimacy and separateness), differences in verbal and emotive development, and the effects these all have on relationships. Rich with examples and case studies, this book presents strategies for communication and conflict that build more emotional balance, while showing how intimate separateness can be the key to lifelong happiness.

Book excerpt: The selection of essays in this volume aims to present Indian philosophy as an autonomous intellectual tradition, with its own internal dynamics, rhythms, techniques, problematics and approaches, and to show how the richness of this tradition has a vital role in a newly emerging global and international discipline of philosophy, one in which a diversity of traditions exchange ideas and grow through their interaction with one another. This new volume is an abridgement of the four-volume set, Indian Philosophy, published by Routledge in 2016. The selection of chapters was made in collaboration with the editors at Routledge. The purpose of this volume is to reintroduce the heritage of ‘Indian Philosophy’ to a contemporary readership by acquainting the reader with some of the core themes of Indian philosophy, such as the concept of philosophy, philosophy as a search for the self, Buddhist philosophy of mind, metaphysics, epistemology, language and logic.
Download or read book Reason Ego the Right Minded Teamwork Myth written by Dan Hogan and published by Dan Hogan. This book was released on 2021-07-21 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Right-Minded Teamwork (RMT) is an intelligent and empowering teamwork system. It is for everyone, everywhere, forever. Apply RMT, and you will improve your work processes and strengthen your relationships. Apply RMT, and your team will achieve 100% customer satisfaction. Apply RMT, and you make the world a better place. It is an honor to introduce you to this unique, real-world, continuous improvement method. RMT has already improved the lives and teams of thousands of people worldwide. Apply this process in your team, and you, too, will reap its benefits. Is this book for you? This book is primarily intended as a resource for leaders and facilitators. But it is also much more than that. The content you will find here can positively benefit everyone, everywhere, on any team. RMT is a universal, self-evident, self-validating process with the power to transform even the most challenged team. What is this book about? This book teaches two significant Right-Minded Teamwork (RMT) concepts: The RMT Myth, a short tale that presents the underlying teamwork philosophy, and 2) The RMT team-building process. The RMT Myth is a short, simple story. It follows three characters: Reason, Ego, and you, the Decision-Maker. The Myth illustrates the Right-Minded Teamwork philosophy, sort of like an aspirational thought system. The RMT Myth advocates for teammates to follow Reason’s path to oneness and shared interest instead of following Ego’s disastrous advice to seek separateness and prioritize selfishness. In other words, the Myth illustrates what “right-minded” thinking and behaving look and feel like. Once you have read and understood the RMT Myth, you and your team are ready for the Right-Minded Teamwork process. Unlike the story about Reason, Ego, and the Decision-Maker, the RMT process is no myth. It is practical, deliberate, and reliable. The RMT process is a set of interconnected, team-building methods that together form a self-perpetuating, continuous improvement system. It allows you to integrate the aspirations of the RMT Myth into your team in a way that helps you achieve your business goals. This book will teach you the RMT process, including seven of RMT’s proven team-building methods that lead to continuous improvement. Why Consider RMT? There are three common team-building practices: education, games, and social events. As far as real team building goes, none of these approaches is effective. Not one of them produces proven, reliable results. If you have participated in them, you know what I mean. Still, many well-meaning team leaders continue to use these ineffective tactics, trying to make them work. Usually, this is because they do not realize there is a better way. A real-world approach to team building is the better way. It is also the most reliable way to achieve and sustain high-performance teamwork. Right-Minded Teamwork is a real-world, team-building process. Applied intentionally, it has the power to transform your team, bringing you together to work as one. That is why RMT is worth considering for your team. The future of RMT… As I write this, RMT is, to my knowledge, the only model of its kind. However, I pray that it is not unique and that real-world methodologies become the prevailing team-building approach around the world one day. I'm optimistic this future is on its way. I believe that as more people like you understand and embrace this superior approach to creating stronger teams, we will see less and less of those ineffective approaches. I also believe in a better future for teams because I know I’m not alone in wishing for it. For decades, my clients expressed the same desire. They were changed by our work together and what they learned, and they went on to share RMT’s concepts and principles with others. Through them, the ripple effect began. Through you, it will continue. Together, we will build better teams: teams that do no harm, get work done and work as one. Dan Hogan
Download or read book Living Worth written by Stefan Ecks and published by Duke University Press. This book was released on 2022-02-04 with total page 179 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Living Worth Stefan Ecks draws on ethnographic research on depression and antidepressant usage in India to develop a new theory of value. Framing depressive disorder as a problem of value, Ecks traces the myriad ways antidepressants come to have value, from their ability to help make one’s life worth living to the wealth they generate in the multibillion-dollar global pharmaceutical market. Through case studies that include analyses of the different valuation of generic and brand-name drugs, the origins of rising worldwide depression rates, and the marketing, prescription, and circulation of antidepressants, Ecks theorizes value as a process of biocommensuration. Biocommensurations—transactions that aim or claim to make life better—are those forms of social, medical, and corporate actions that allow value to be measured, exchanged, substituted, and redistributed. Ecks’s theory expands value beyond both a Marxist labor theory of value and a free market subjective theory, thereby offering new insights into how the value of lives and things become entangled under neoliberal capitalism.
Download or read book The One Truth written by Jon Gordon and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2023-05-24 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Wall Street Journal Bestseller The One Truth is the One Thing that Explains Everything The One Truth, by 14x best-selling author and thought leader Jon Gordon, guides you on a path to discover revolutionary insights, ancient truths and practical strategies to elevate your mind, unlock your power and live life to the fullest. The One Truth is that our state of mind, the thoughts we think, the words we say, the life we live, the power we have and everything we experience is ultimately influenced by oneness and separateness. As you learn about the unseen forces that lower your state of mind, separate and weaken you and the hidden power that elevates your mind, unites and strengthens you, you’ll see life through a new lens, think with more clarity, confidence and act at higher level. Once you know the One Truth, you’ll see how it impacts leadership, teamwork, mindset, performance, relationships, addictions, social media, anxiety, mental health, healing and ultimately determines what you create and experience. For example, a team that is divided is disconnected and powerless. A team that is united is connected and powerful. The same applies to you. When you feel a sense of oneness, connection, and unity you feel strong. When you feel separate, you feel disconnected and weak. The truth is, we are not meant to go through life feeling anxious, disconnected, insecure, cluttered, chronically stressed, worried and sad most of the time. We are meant to heal the hole in our soul and become whole. We are meant to live with hope, clarity, power, purpose, and confidence. The One Truth will show you how!
Download or read book The Stages of Life written by Hugh Crago and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2016-08-11 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is personality "in the genes"? Do our infant experiences matter, even though we can’t remember them? Why do patterns repeat within the lives of individuals and families? The Stages of Life provides answers to these and other intriguing questions, and presents a refreshingly readable introduction to human development from birth to death. The book synthesises those theories and research findings that are most helpful in explaining the paradoxes and complexities of human personality and human problems. The book provides a thought-provoking discussion of several important topics, including: how personality evolves in response to both genetic and social influences how individuals differ and what this means for them how some problems tend to develop at particular stages of the life course, from early childhood through to midlife and old age. Throughout the book, Hugh Crago relates both ‘nature’ and ‘nurture’ to the challenges individuals must face from early childhood through to old age. He draws attention to often-ignored clinical findings about ‘cross generational repetition’ in families, and shows how recent developments in epigenetics may supply an explanation for such mysterious phenomena. Written without jargon, and full of new and provocative ideas, the book will be of great interest to students of counselling and psychotherapy, and it is also has much to offer the general reader. With its engaging examples from history, literature and the author’s own life, readers will find that The Stages of Life illuminates puzzles in their own lives and opens a road to self-acceptance.

Download or read book Marcuse written by John Bokina and published by University Press of Kansas. This book was released on 1994-04-29 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Marcuse brings back to center stage one of the most celebrated and controversial philosophers of the turbulent 1960s, the man Time magazine called the "guru of the New Left." In Reason and Revolution, Eros and Civilization, One-Dimensional Man, and other notable works, Herbert Marcuse crystallized the essence of counterculture philosophy. His neo-Marxist critique of Western capitalism was widely embraced by revolutionaries, "hippies," and an entire generation of academics who condemned political, economic, and sexual repression in Amerian society. So complete was Marcuse's identification with the New Left that, with its demise, he and his works fell out of favor. But, as this volume persuasively demonstrates, Marcuse remains vitally relevant for us today. Returning to Marcuse may recall the clash of idealistic exhuberance and tragic violence associated with Woodstock, Haight-Ashbury, the Vietnam War, 1968 Democratic Convention, Kent State, and Earth Day, as well as the passionate voices of anti-war and civil rights protesters, environmentalists, feminists, and free love advocates. But this volume does not cater to the simplistic nostalgia of aging baby-boomers. Fifteen leading Marcuse scholars, including Marcuse's son Peter, assess the philosopher's ideas in the radically different theoretical and political contexts of the 1990s. The range of topics covered is distinctly contemporary--Foucault and postmodern theories, analytical Marxism and the demise of the Soviet Union, women's studies and feminist psychoanalytic theory, aesthetic consciousness and postmodern art, radical ecology and cybernetic technology-and includes Douglas Kellner's revealing first look at the unpublished manuscripts in the Marcuse Archives in Frankfurt. Sure to excite liberal as well as irritate conservative culture warriors, these provocative essays illuminate the outlines of a Marcuse revival and the Next Left as both emerge to confront the complex challenges of our times.
Download or read book Right Minded Teamwork written by Dan Hogan and published by Lord & Hogan LLC. This book was released on 2022-02-19 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Successful teams who consistently create and sustain teams that work as one integrate the essence of the nine, Right-Minded choices into their team. There is no one right way to apply them I suggest you start by reading and understanding each choice and then follow the instructions found in the Leader & Teammate Actions section that show specific actions you can take to apply each choice. Hi there! I’m Dan Hogan. I have been in your shoes, wondering how in the world to lead teammates towards greater collaboration and team effectiveness. In this book, you will find specific actions you can take to achieve better teamwork, or as we call it, Right-Minded Teamwork (RMT). Successful team leaders who consistently create and sustain teams that work as one integrate the essence of the nine, Right-Minded choices into their team. You "collectively" taught me these choices. I started facilitating team-building workshops in 1986. Much has changed since then, but I worked with many talented leaders and teammates, quite like you, even in the early days. After my first few years, I began to notice these Right-Minded choices emerging in my awareness. I did not invent them. I learned them from people like you. Observing their effectiveness, I dedicated my career to promoting them and helping teams learn to apply these choices successfully. Today, so many years later, they are still self-evident, self-validating, and universal best practices. When I published the first edition of this book in 2013, I gave copies to many of my team leader clients. Robin Hensley was one of those talented leaders, and, after reading it, she shared her review: [RMT’s 9 Right Choices is] a fast read that takes you straight to the root of team dysfunctions and gives you proven, step-by-step tools to improve team function and deliver results. I have paid thousands of dollars for team trainings and workshops that are better summarized here. I am glad to be reminded to choose Reason over Ego and stay in my right mind. Robin Hensley, VP IT, UPS Robin’s was just one endorsement I received. Her response, along with others, spoke about the real-world value of these nine concepts and choices. They affirmed what I had already seen through my years of team building and facilitation efforts: When you persistently include these choices into your team through team-building workshops, your team will improve. You become a successful Right-Minded Teamwork leader and facilitator. Truly. With these choices in your mind, you no longer have to wonder what you should do. The answer is always, “Do no harm, and work as one.” Application: Start by understanding all nine choices. Find a Leader & Teammate Actions section that outlines specific actions you can take. By the time you finish reading the last choice, you will know how to apply them. Remember: It Is About the Dialogue. These nine choices are undoubtedly important. But they are secondary to your team’s dialogue about them. They will serve as catalysts for your teammate discussions and the eventual creation of team Work Agreements. Regardless of your approach, every application will include a healthy, functional, and empowering dialogue that moves your teammates towards acting and behaving as one unified team. Now that you have a clearer sense of the RMT journey, I want to take a moment to congratulate you on your new role. Incorporating these 9 Right Choices into your team-building repertoire means you are now a Right-Minded Teamwork Leader and Facilitator. Your specialty is team transformations. My support: It took countless workshops, a 35-year career in active team-building facilitation, and the collective wisdom of so many teammates and leaders to conceptualize and build RMT into the robust model it is today. Though I no longer facilitate actively, choosing to pass that torch on to the next generation of leaders and facilitators, I will always continue to promote Right-Minded Teamwork. The reason for my continued passion is quite simple. I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that RMT is right for every team, everywhere, forever. If you use RMT, it will help make your teams and the world a better place. Let’s get started now. Dan Hogan
Download or read book Working with Oneness written by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee and published by The Golden Sufi Center. This book was released on 2002-05-02 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Humanity has been given access to the secrets of oneness, but we need to learn how to work with them. Working with Oneness brings mysticism into the center of the marketplace, into the world of business and technology, and shows how we can work with it in everyday life. The dynamic energy of oneness has the potential to heal the planet and revolutionize life more than we can imagine, but it requires our individual participation and awareness to become fully alive. The energy of oneness is already present but waiting to be lived, and Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee provides a blueprint for working consciously with this energy. As we understand how our consciousness affects the whole fabric of life, the potential for real global change comes alive. Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee stresses the need to change from hierarchical, patriarchal power structures to organic patterns that allow for the free flow of energy and ideas. Through these patterns the dynamic energy of oneness can become part of everyday life. Working with Oneness includes a number of additional important topics, including: the changing energy structure of the planet and how to work with it; the power of individual consciousness; the danger of the desire for spiritual security; the return of joy to everyday life; the awakening of the heart of the world; a new understanding of magic; the use of the imagination; and mystical participation in life with the energy of oneness. Working with Oneness offers guidance on how to work with the energy of oneness, to learn how to participate in life free of the patterns of the past, so that the divine can come alive in every moment of every day. Working with Oneness is mystical activism at its most potent. “There is a growing and eager audience waiting for a vision of unity consciousness... Working with Oneness offers a salutary antidote to worn-out antagonisms. It challenges readers to join other kindred souls in a mystical activism that can bring new hope to humanity.” —Spirituality & Health “A book filled with wonder and the kind of insights that can leap out to your heart and gladden you for having read them. It's words are simple and straightforward—always a blessing—but its message it the most vital and important for the time in which we live. I recommend it.” —David Spangler, author, Blessings: the Art and the Practice

A Note from Dan Hogan, Co-Creator of RMT As I write this, RMT is, to my knowledge, the only model of its kind. However, I pray it is not unique. I hope one day real-world methodologies like RMT become the prevailing team-building approach around the world. I'm optimistic this future is on its way because I know I’m not alone in wishing for it. Though I’m now retired from active facilitation, for decades, I served teams around the globe as a Certified Master Facilitator. I repeatedly heard my clients express the same desire I had: That this kind of approach to team-building would become commonplace, for the betterment of everyone. They were changed by our work together and what they learned, and many of them went on to share RMT’s concepts and principles with others. Through them, the ripple effect began. Through you, it can continue. Together, with the help of RMT, we will build teams that do no harm, get work done, and work as one. Dan Hogan, CMF
