Book One Christian s Perspective of Man s Dilemma God s Solution

Download or read book One Christian s Perspective of Man s Dilemma God s Solution written by Steve Lampman and published by Book Hub Inc. This book was released on 2013-04-01 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many people today would list many different things as being man’s dilemma—such things as health problems, unemployment, poverty, crime, war, and so on. Each, of course, is a problem found in every society, excluding none. One could say man’s dilemma is universal and they would be correct. However, each of the things listed above are actually the result of man’s dilemma, not the cause. The cause is found in man’s depravity. In that depravity, every un-regenerated human being sets his own standard as to his or her conduct of life. Man has rejected the absolute standard of his creator and as a result is alienated toward not only God, but from one another. Man has no solution for this and therein lays the dilemma. God, on the other hand, has the solution; it is found in His provision, the Lord Jesus Christ. In the pages of this work the author considers man’s dilemma God’s solution from eleven different perspectives. Each chapter is a study in itself, but fits nicely as one completed work.

Book One Christian s Perspective of Man s Dilemma

Download or read book One Christian s Perspective of Man s Dilemma written by Steve Lampman and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2008-06-01 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ephesians 2: 1-10 1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. 4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you hav e been saved. 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. May each one who reads this work experience the Grace of God

It made a deep impression upon Ronald Fangen, a young novelist and dramatist. Thereafter, as a Christian humanist, he attempted to persuade the Church to appreciate and learn from the Arts since such efforts would support the proclamation of its message. His writings beckon readers to sense with him the constant tension to communicate in the best way the Christian message in each generation; with this tension Fangen wrestled. The challenge continues today.

Book A Christian Theology of the Cross

Download or read book A Christian Theology of the Cross written by Allen George and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-07-29 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A CHRISTIAN THEOLOGY OF THE CROSS presents three basic standards for discussing the subject and object "God." It underscores the connection between God's approval of Abel's offering and the establishment of the priesthood and names Genesis 4:7 as the foundation of the principal doctrines of Christian Salvation. It stresses the importance of Christian freedom and argues that the doctrine of existentialism is rooted in Genesis 4:9b. This book speaks directly to those who are spiritually hungry and thirsty for the Word of God in the twenty-first century. The reader will discover that the author is an analytical thinker. George asserts that the ambiguities of Abel's offering don't negate the concept of his priesthood. He champions the belief that the doctrine of the universality of salvation is a crucial divide between Judaism and Christianity. He insists that the Gospel demands that Christians renounce their hate and intolerance.

Book Karl Barth and Christian Ethics

Download or read book Karl Barth and Christian Ethics written by William Werpehowski and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-04-22 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This critical study of Karl Barth's Christian theological ethics discusses Barth's controversial and characteristically misunderstood ethics of divine command. The surprising relation of his 'divine command ethics' to contemporary 'narrative theology' and 'virtue ethics' and specific moral themes concerning bonds between parents and children, the nature of truth telling, and the meaning of Christian love of God and neighbor are all discussed. This book reveals Barth's richness, depth, and insight, and places his work in constructive connection with salient themes in both Catholic and Protestant ethics. Attentive to the fullness of Barth's Christological vision and to the purposes and limits of his reflections on the Christian life in pursuit of the good, William Werpehowski also advances conversations in Christian ethics about the nature of practical deliberation and decision, the orientation and dispositions that embody moral faithfulness, and the question and features of 'natural morality.'

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Anglican Communion must address a central issue: that of the postmodern worldview growing in its midst and the corresponding development of a One World Religion. It is an issue of theological meaning and interpretation, of right doctrine and right practice. It is an issue of Christian identity. The crisis has only just begun. Anglicans are the canary in the coal mine, gasping for air while worldwide Christianity looks on to see how much oxygen is left. The One World Religion is actively coming into being. Many Christian churches are grappling with forces and pressures from within and without to yield, to change, or to embrace this phenomenon, which can be oh-so-appealing. The time has come for all who would call themselves Christians to decide which set of beliefs and practices will be adhered to and taught in the church, and which vision will be offered to the world as the Christian faith. Anglican Manifesto seeks to ignite a reformation of Anglicanism in order to set the stage for a global reunification and revival of Christian churches worldwide.

Book The Ancient Church as Family

Download or read book The Ancient Church as Family written by Joseph H. Hellerman and published by Fortress Press. This book was released on 2001 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author explores the literature of the first three centuries of the church in terms of group identity and formation as surrogate kinship. Why did this become the organizing model in the earliest churches? How did historical developments intervene to shift the paradigm? How do ancient Mediterranean kinship structures correlate with church formation? Hellerman traces the fascinating story of these developments over three centuries and what brought them about. His focus is the New Testament documents (especially Paul's letters), second-century authors, and concluding with Cyprian in the third century. Kinship terminology in these writings, behaviors of group solidarity, and the symbolic power of kinship language in these groups are examined.
