Book The assistant manager of football

Download or read book The assistant manager of football written by Denis Silva Puig and published by Wanceulen Editorial S.L.. This book was released on 2020-04-15 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The assistant manager has existed for decades, and is a standard figure within the coaching staff, with specific roles, functions and responsibilities. However, I find it strange that nobody has yet described this profession formally. I used to only be a team manager, until one day I was proposed to be the assistant manager of U18 team of FC Barcelona. That is when I started thinking about writing this book, moved by my desire to continue learning. If I wanted to train in my new role I could only do it by asking others and observing training sessions. But I was missing one of the pillars that has forever supported my training: studying and reading. With this book I hope to cover that lack of information. The book is divided into two parts: the first is based on describing the assistant manager in professional football and I have not found a more practical way to do it than through interviews with assistant managers. Each interviewee has contributed his experiences from working with the most recognized football team managers: I am talking about people who have worked with Vicente del Bosque, Ernesto Valverde, Luis Enrique, Pep Guardiola, Mauricio Pochettino, Sergio González, Quique Sánchez Flores, and Paulo Sousa. The second part of the book is related to Youth football, which I have experienced in clubs like Atlético de Madrid and FC Barcelona. I propose the role of the assistant manager working in Youth football to be more formative and educational than what is currently given, and I want to direct their effort towards two dimensions: the team's sporting performance (which the vast majority do) and the individualized analysis of the young player (which very few do). This second dimension is described in the last chapter, to demonstrate a new vision of assistants in Youth football, who in my view have to dedicate their time to improving the players as an athlete and as a person in a more personalized and integral way.

Book Ask a Manager

Download or read book Ask a Manager written by Alison Green and published by Ballantine Books. This book was released on 2018-05-01 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the creator of the popular website Ask a Manager and New York’s work-advice columnist comes a witty, practical guide to 200 difficult professional conversations—featuring all-new advice! There’s a reason Alison Green has been called “the Dear Abby of the work world.” Ten years as a workplace-advice columnist have taught her that people avoid awkward conversations in the office because they simply don’t know what to say. Thankfully, Green does—and in this incredibly helpful book, she tackles the tough discussions you may need to have during your career. You’ll learn what to say when • coworkers push their work on you—then take credit for it • you accidentally trash-talk someone in an email then hit “reply all” • you’re being micromanaged—or not being managed at all • you catch a colleague in a lie • your boss seems unhappy with your work • your cubemate’s loud speakerphone is making you homicidal • you got drunk at the holiday party Praise for Ask a Manager “A must-read for anyone who works . . . [Alison Green’s] advice boils down to the idea that you should be professional (even when others are not) and that communicating in a straightforward manner with candor and kindness will get you far, no matter where you work.”—Booklist (starred review) “The author’s friendly, warm, no-nonsense writing is a pleasure to read, and her advice can be widely applied to relationships in all areas of readers’ lives. Ideal for anyone new to the job market or new to management, or anyone hoping to improve their work experience.”—Library Journal (starred review) “I am a huge fan of Alison Green’s Ask a Manager column. This book is even better. It teaches us how to deal with many of the most vexing big and little problems in our workplaces—and to do so with grace, confidence, and a sense of humor.”—Robert Sutton, Stanford professor and author of The No Asshole Rule and The Asshole Survival Guide “Ask a Manager is the ultimate playbook for navigating the traditional workforce in a diplomatic but firm way.”—Erin Lowry, author of Broke Millennial: Stop Scraping By and Get Your Financial Life Together

Book An Allie Fortune Mystery Set

Download or read book An Allie Fortune Mystery Set written by Sara Mills and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2009-03-01 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This package includes the complete two-volume set of An Allie Fortune Mystery series: Miss Fortune and Miss Match. In Miss Fortune, Allie Fortune is the only female (and probably the best) private investigator in New York City in 1947 . They call her the "P.I. Princess." Her work is a welcome distraction from her own past, and she’s just been hired on by a client who isn’t telling the whole truth. Mary Gordon’s claims of innocence don’t fit with her ransacked apartment, being shot at, and the two Soviet agents hot on her trail. Meanwhile, the FBI is working the case because a legendary and mysterious treasure has gone missing...again. The only catch for Allie is her new “partner” Jack, an attractive, single agent who knows how to make her smile. As Allie and Jack chase after the gold, they must contend with the Soviets, who also want the priceless treasure back--after all, they stole it fair and square. In Miss Match, the motivating factor is the relationship of the main character, Allie Fortune, with a man who may or may not be dead. She fell in love with him before he went off to fight in WWII, and perhaps even worse, before she realized she loved him. Now he has disappeared and she can't move on with her life, romantically at least. Meanwhile, she has become a private investigator and has developed a stellar reputation in the business. As Miss Fortune came to an end, Allie had learned that her old flame was indeed still alive but missing, somewhere in Europe. Meanwhile, she has become good friends with an attractive, single FBI agent (Jack O'Connor), complicating the situation. Jack O’Connor receives a letter from Maggie, a woman he used to love, saying she’s in trouble in Berlin. The FBI refuses to get involved, so Jack asks Allie Fortune to help him investigate. Allie and Jack pose as a missionary couple who want to bring orphans back to the United States. A child finds important documents that everyone in the city--Soviets and allies alike--want for themselves. Maggie refuses to tell Jack what the documents are, saying if things go wrong, they are better off not knowing. Through the course of the search, Allie’s past is brought back to her, half a world away from home.

Book My Name is Jhon

Download or read book My Name is Jhon written by John Brennan and published by Gill & Macmillan Ltd. This book was released on 2021-10-15 with total page 285 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a child, John Brennan wasn't an obvious candidate for success. School was a difficult, upsetting place and he was always at the bottom of the class. His battle with dyslexia meant that he felt stigmatised by a society that didn't understand him. Yet his determination to not be defined by his dyslexia created an ambition that has been matched by his business acumen. Now in his mid-fifties, John's optimism is still flowing. It is a measure of his character that, on being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, the first thing he did was to buy a very run-down Dromquinna Manor on 46 acres of overgrown grounds. Ten years later, in the midst of a world pandemic that saw hotels closed all over the world, John again bought a new hotel. This is a fascinating account of a man with the vision to create his own life against the odds that will inspire people everywhere to find their own way too.

Book Kennedy Wives

Download or read book Kennedy Wives written by Amber Hunt and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2014-12-02 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Kennedys endure as American icons because of the mix between power and vulnerability that so many of them embodied. Our fascination and connection to them comes most strongly through the wives, whose pain, heartbreak, and grief seemed immensely public and lonely and personal at the same time. The Tragic Lives of the Kennedy Wives examines five of the Kennedy matriarchs: Rose, Jackie, Ethel, Joan, and Vicki through the lens of their marriages, their religion, their families, their activism and most of all, their tragedies. An important and fascinating exploration into the side of Camelot that was never quite kept from the public eye.
