Book Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Shift Reagents

Download or read book Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Shift Reagents written by Robert Sievers and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 425 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nuclear Magnetic Shift Reagents presents the proceedings of the Symposium on the Chemistry of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Shift Reagents, held in Dallas, Texas, on April 9–11, 1973. This book discusses the fundamental aspects of shift reagent chemistry as well as the physical and chemical properties of shift reagents. Comprised of 16 chapters, this compilation of papers starts with an overview of the deuterium isotope effect in lanthanide shifts. This text then examines the variations in coordination geometries for chemically equivalent molecules of shift reagent-substrate complexes in the solid state, which illustrate the ease with which changes occur in the coordination sphere of lanthanide complexes. Other chapters discuss the dipolar nature of proton resonance shifts in lanthanide shift reagent systems. This book considers as well the feasibility of using chiral shift reagents. The final chapter deals with the effects of chemical equilibrium and adduct stoichiometry in studies of shift reagent. Chemists, biochemists, and molecular physicists will find this book useful.

Now in his fourth decade of branding and marketing for such companies as Samsung, Reebok, DKNY, GNC, and Pepsi, Arnell explains how you can use some of the same strategies that famous brands do, in order to improve your own image, life, and career. Arnell knows this firsthand because he applied many of these same strategies to transform his own life by losing 256 pounds. How did he do it? Arnell created an idea he calls Shift. With Shift, you’ll discover the steps you need to take in order to become the best you. Creating and revitalizing brands happens every day in business. Shift shows how you can make it happen for yourself and your personal brand. Innovative insights such as “go helium” are used by Arnell to explain how he reached his ultimate goal of 150 pounds—you can apply his techniques to reach for your own goals. You will see—through Arnell’s description of how he “went tiger”—how to exercise your own discipline and commitment, without apology, even if that means bucking the norm. And by learning to reach out to your brand audience, you will come to understand the importance of your network of friends, acquaintances, colleagues, and family—your fan club— in keeping you motivated and providing the feedback you need for success. Download or read book It Happened on My Shift written by Thomas J. Cortez and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2016-06-30 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book shows sixty-two stories plus of events that occurred during the forty years of being a nurse. Some of the stories can be happy and funny events, while others can be sad and heart-breaking. The stories started to occur to a young man who went into nursing during the Vietnam War in 1967, and these ended in 2008. It talks about so many people suffering and dying and the employees who opened up their hearts to comfort the patients and their families. Many cried with them in the final hours of life. I was a nurse and hospital supervisor for a total of forty years. And I often cried with the patients, their families, and the staff. I was glad to be able to be there to support all of them who needed my support. However, it left me scared for life. Every time I see a happy movie or sad movie with a happy ending, I find myself crying. I became a crying man when I left nursing. My heart goes out to all who are still supporting the very critical and dying patients. God bless them all.

Book Carbon 13 NMR Shift Assignments of Amines and Alkaloids

Download or read book Carbon 13 NMR Shift Assignments of Amines and Alkaloids written by M. Shamma and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of this book is to gather under one cover most of the data presently available on the carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (cmr) spectra of alkaloids. The term "alkaloids" is used here in a very broad sense to include synthetic analogues of the natural products. Simple model amines are also incorporated since these often supply the basic information required in the assignment of chemical shifts for the more complex compounds. The literature on alkaloid cmr spectroscopy has been covered through 1977, but the collec tion of compounds presented here is illustrative rather than exhaustive. The papers included in the reference list afford further information not only on the cmr assignments of the particular compounds provided here, but also incorporate data on additional related structures. Only a few dimeric indole alkaloids are included since to a large extent their cmr spectra can be corre lated directly with those of their monomeric analogues. The present volume is thus a representative empirical compendium of cmr assignments focusing upon alkaloids and model amines, and is intended to aid cmr research in heterocyclic and alkaloid chemistry. The compounds and data presented in this book are classified and organized according to structural similarity. The purpose of such a presenta tion is to demonstrate the common cmr characteristics of a given structural type, while also facilitating an empirical evaluation of the cmr spectral changes specifically reSUlting from relatively minor variations in oxidation level, substitution, or stereochemistry.
