Book Everyone Can Cook

  • Author : Scott R. Taylor
  • Publisher : Xlibris Corporation
  • Release : 2012-09
  • ISBN : 1479711241
  • Pages : 606 pages

Download or read book Everyone Can Cook written by Scott R. Taylor and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2012-09 with total page 606 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hello my name is Scott R. Taylor. For many years I have wanted a cook book that not only gives me recipes but shows and tells me the things I need to know to make food items I could be proud to serve. So I decided to make my own. One of the things I love in life is to eat good food. When I’m growing up, mom and dad’s along with grandmas cooking was always the world’s best and in my mind nobody could top them. I was born in the early 1950’s in a middle class family on the south side of Chicago. Father was from Tennessee and Mother from Ohio. So that gave me my fi rst look at fusion cooking as I knew it. By the time I hit my early teens, I learned I could not eat out every meal, so I desired to learn to cook. My passion for food grew into a 45 year career. By trial and error, cooking with other chefs, learning from friends and trying many types of cooking jobs, I have learned something new. As many of us do many things in our life, my time in the Navy, working in diners, fi ne food, major hotels, off shore oil rigs and even retirement homes have taught me every aspect of food. I could not afford to go to culinary school so I learned by doing. Read a cook book, taste the spices, ask friends, but if you like to cook and eat - GET UP AND DO IT. Living in Las Vegas to me is the best. World class food and chefs, food from around the world. This is good life for me. I hope you enjoy this book and that it answers what or want to know about cooking. Please enjoy cooking, eating and life the way that I have.

Book The Moms Guide to Meal Makeovers

Download or read book The Moms Guide to Meal Makeovers written by Janice Bissex and published by Harmony. This book was released on 2008-12-10 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the legions of harried moms who have tossed in the dishtowel on cooking healthy meals (or any meals!), the easiest-ever guide for bringing super nutrition back to the kitchen. Getting dinner on the table night after night can be a challenge. So it’s no surprise that busy moms often rely on fast food, takeout, and convenience meals like macaroni & cheese, chicken nuggets, and fries. The kids love it but the drawback is that little twinge of guilt moms feel every time they feed their family another not-so-healthy meal. At the end of the day, many children end up with a poor diet high in sugar, saturated fat, and calories … a major factor in the rising rates of obesity. Finally, here are realistic guidelines designed to give families a healthy meal makeover. The Moms lay out a 5-Step Meal Makeover Plan, explaining how to market good nutrition to kids, establish food rules, and make life easier in the kitchen. In The Best of the Bunch chapter they reveal which brands of kid convenience foods–hot dogs, frozen pizza, and more–are the best tasting and most nutritious ones out there. The Moms show how to stock a healthy pantry and whip up delicious anytime meals using pantry staples. They even serve up 120 reworked recipes for family favorites such as Fast-as-Boxed Macaroni & Cheese, Squishy Squash Lasagna, Cheesy Broccoli Soup, Sweet Potato Fries, and Chocolate Pudding with Toppers.

Book From the Oven to the Table

Download or read book From the Oven to the Table written by Diana Henry and published by Mitchell Beazley. This book was released on 2019-09-19 with total page 486 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER 'For bung-it-in-the-oven cooks everywhere, this is a must-have book: Diana Henry has a genius for flavour.' - Nigella Lawson Whether you're short of time or just prefer to keep things simple, From the Oven to the Table shows how the oven can do much of the work that goes into making great food. Diana Henry's favourite way to cook is to throw ingredients into a dish or roasting tin, slide them in the oven and let the heat behind that closed door transform them into golden, burnished meals. Most of the easy-going recipes in this wonderfully varied collection are cooked in one dish; some are ideas for simple accompaniments that can be cooked on another shelf at the same time. From quick after-work suppers to feasts for friends, the dishes are vibrant and modern and focus on grains, pulses and vegetables as much as meat and fish. With recipes such as Chicken Thighs with Miso, Sweet Potatoes & Spring Onions, Roast Indian-spiced Vegetables with Lime-Coriander Butter, and Roast Stone Fruit with Almond and Orange Flower Crumbs, Diana shows how the oven is the most useful bit of kit you have in your kitchen. Praise for How to Eat a Peach: 'This is an extraordinary piece of food writing, pitch perfect in every way. I couldn't love anyone who didn't love this book.' - Nigella Lawson '...her best yet...superb menus evoking place and occasion with consummate elegance' - Financial Times Food Book of the Year at the André Simon Food & Drink Book Awards 2019
