Book Turbulent Impinging Jets into Porous Materials

Download or read book Turbulent Impinging Jets into Porous Materials written by Marcelo J.S. de Lemos and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-04-23 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This short book deals with the mathematical modeling of jets impinging porous media. It starts with a short introduction to models describing turbulences in porous media as well as turbulent heat transfer. In its main part, the book presents the heat transfer of impinging jets using a local and a non-local thermal equilibrium approach.

Book Survey of Literature on Flow Characteristics of a Single Turbulent Jet Impinging on a Flat Plate

Download or read book Survey of Literature on Flow Characteristics of a Single Turbulent Jet Impinging on a Flat Plate written by James W. Gauntner and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Flow characteristics of single jets impinging on flat surfaces have been studied by many investigators. The results of some of the numerous studies are summarized herein. Suggested methods for determining velocities and pressures on which to base heat-transfer correlations for use in impingement cooling design are presented.

Book excerpt: The handbook has been composed on the basis of processing, systematization and classification of the results of a great number of investigations published at different time. The essential part of the book is the outcome of investigations carried out by the author. The present edition of this handbook should assist in increasing the quality and efficiency of the design and usage of indutrial power engineering and other constructions and also of the devices and apparatus through which liquids and gases move.

Book Advances in Heat Transfer

Download or read book Advances in Heat Transfer written by George A. Greene and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2006-10-17 with total page 668 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advances in Heat Transfer fills the information gap between regularly scheduled journals and university level textbooks by providing in-depth review articles over a broader scope than in journals or texts. The articles, which serve as a broad review for experts in the field, will also be of great interest to non-specialists who need to keep up-to- date with the results of the latest research. It is essential reading for all mechanical, chemical and industrial engineers working in the field of heat transfer, graduate schools or industry. Provides an overview of review articles on topics of current interest Bridges the gap between academic researchers and practitioners in industry A long-running and prestigious series

Book A Study on Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics of Geometrically Innovative Impinging Jets

Download or read book A Study on Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics of Geometrically Innovative Impinging Jets written by Kazuyoshi Nakabe and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 6 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It was found in the case of the former nozzle that main and secondary peaks of the Nusselt number distributions around the stagnation region were merged into a single peak as the extension collor length was increased, regardless of the oscilllating frequency. The latter case was found to enhance heat transfer from a spanwisely much wider area, compared with the case of the conventional impinging jet nozzle normal to the target wall. The enhanced area of heat transfer corresponds very well to the behaviors of the longitudinal vortices. [Authors' abstract].
