Book Unstable Twisted Tales Tasty Entrails

Download or read book Unstable Twisted Tales Tasty Entrails written by Barbara Blanks and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-11-18 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Barbara Blanks is equally adept at both horrific blood-thirsty stories and humorous blood-thirsty stories. She is, in fact, a little afraid to turn her back on herself because she doesn't know from what sinister brain vault some of these story ideas escaped. This mixture of mystery, crime, horror, and humor will leave you off-balance, which is-perhaps-better than being unbalanced. Or Unstable. But don't press the issue with the author. Really. Don't. Suggestions: Stay away from power tools. Avoid parks, cemeteries, zoos, farms, malls, stores, theaters, and ... your own home. And don't go toward the light at the end of the tunnel. Parental Guidance Advised only because some subject matter may be disturbing to youngsters.

Book Flesh of the Sun Life Above the Ground

Download or read book Flesh of the Sun Life Above the Ground written by Barbara Blanks and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2016-05-31 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of prize-winning poems by Barbara Blanks carries the reader through the range of human experiences. Perhaps a normal, sensible sequence would begin with Dawn, and end with Dusk or Eclipse, but she chooses to start with light and a kiss from the gods, move through the dark eclipse that sears like dragon's breath, then feel a joyous pulse at the pinnacle of light-and have some fun along the way. Her feet might be "wet from not quite leaping over puddles" but Barb is still willing to "pull the husk away from heaven, and bite into the flesh of the sun."

Book The Not Quite Series Box Set

Download or read book The Not Quite Series Box Set written by Kaye Draper and published by Kaye Draper. This book was released on 2021-04-11 with total page 770 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Not quite human, not quite beast. Not quite female, not quite male. Sometimes hunter, sometimes prey. Always alone. Until them. Fiend hunter Sam “Sabertooth” Forest is used to being on the outskirts. Being a cur with a mix of shifter and human blood, Sam can’t fully shift to beast but can’t fully pass as human. Through sheer determination, and a desire to protect the broken shifter woman who raised them, Sam has managed to eek out a place of their own in a world devastated by the rift that allowed monsters to spill into the earth plane. Sam hunts monsters, sometimes curs and mongrels just like Sam. The work might be dangerous, and the humans might want to put the mixed breed hunter on their hitlist, but it’s a job. It’s freedom. Sam works alone and trusts no one. The next hunt should bring in a big bounty—big enough to pay the pack extortion fee and keep Sam’s adoptive mother safe through winter. But when a Leprechaun horns in on Sam's unicorn hunt and tricks Sam into forming a hunter’s guild, Sam is suddenly burdened by an overabundance of people. Setting off to hunt one-horned murder beasts with an annoying leprechaun and a nerdy half-ogre is bad enough. But when you add in a betrayal by the seductive siren Sam has loved since childhood, and the machinations of a rich human politician, well…Sam’s simple, lonely little life just got a whole lot more complicated. Author’s Note: I love reverse harem, but I got sick of reading the same old tropes. In my books you will find atypical characters and varied sexuality. In general, you probably won’t find many alpha males or fainting females. The Not Quite series is a harem/reverse harem urban fantasy series of novellas (between 35,000-45,000 words) and contains the following: *adult language, and lots of it *moderate levels of violence/gore/action *graphic sexual situations *polyamory/ multiple lovers *LBGTQ and straight themes (the main character is intersex and will have both male and female lovers, and this is a harem, so expect M/F, M/M, F/F, MMMFF etc.) *as usual, my characters all have their own emotional scars. This means the book MAY contain mentions of abuse, unpleasant situations, etc. Please do not read if you are triggered by things like this.

Book The Maltese Agent and Trois

Download or read book The Maltese Agent and Trois written by Robert Overhall and published by eBook Partnership. This book was released on 2013-02-21 with total page 219 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Maltese Agent is Robert Overhall's story inspired by an investigation in the 1960's into a lost ship off Malta. The narrator, a loss adjuster working in Lausanne, Switzerland, handed a file which had never been closed, sets out to discover the facts and in the process unearths a scandal. The story gathers pace as the truth unfolds, ending in a tense and chilling climax in Venice. On one level The Maltese Agent is the straightforward narration of search and discovery; into it, however, are interwoven all Robert Overhall's major themes, betrayal, innocence and guilt, and the shadow of destiny over all our lives. For these reasons The Maltese Agent is rightly described as a psychological thriller.Trois is the story of three young anarchists who conspire to blow up a building in an unspecified North African country. The date is equally unclear, but perhaps the first two decades after the Second World War span the period concerned. It is the reasons why the perpetrators should bring about such a terrible incident which eventually becomes the theme of the novel soon after the facts of their conspiracy have been established. But the reasons the three offer are false, not only to the outside world but to each other, and like all false reasons they falter and change and fall away until we are left with something destructive in the human psyche which ought surely in some way to be matched by something beautiful and worthwhile. It is the reconciliation of these opposites, if it be possible, which lies at the heart of the human condition, and becomes the foundation stone of the story as well.Robert Overhall was an awarded writer in 2012, Oxford Today competition.

He is betting you have been hankering for a little courage and love, spiced with pride and faithfulness, and that you might find a turn to nobility and truth more to your tastes. This book of movie reviews samples the classics and more contemporary selections. You will discover the author’s observations and thoughts about Twelve Years a Slave as well as Amiri Baraka’s The Dutchman. We will examine Edison with Spencer Tracy and David Mamet’s Oleanna. James Coburn will take us dancing and prancing through death and danger as Our Man Flint, and we will have a front-row seat to Klaatu’s stern lecture to humanity in The Day the Earth Stood Still. After a round trip through The Forbidden Kingdom with Jackie Chan and Jett Li, we will, at length, settle down to a glass of milk and a slice of apple pie with Young Tom Edison. Finally, with all this under our belt, we might, at last, find ourselves meditating and contemplating upon a route toward a new cinema.
