Download or read book Non overlapping Domain Decomposition Methods for Three dimensional Cardiac Reaction diffusion Models and Applications written by Stefano Zampini and published by Ledizioni. This book was released on 2011 with total page 269 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recent advances in biotechnology and the availability of ever more powerful computers have led to the formulation of increasingly complex models at all levels of life sciences, in particular of cardiac electrophysiology. Multiscale modeling of the bioelectric activity of the heart, taking into account macroscopic (fiber architecture and anisotropy) and microscopic (cellular) features of the tissue, aim to develop predictive tools for future drug design and patient-specific therapies, using detailed and efficient three-dimensional solvers for the governing equations of tissue electrophysiology.

Book Some Non overlapping Domain Decomposition Methods

Download or read book Some Non overlapping Domain Decomposition Methods written by Jinchao Xu and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this paper is to give a unified investigation on a class of non-overlapping domain decomposition methods for solving second order elliptic problems in two and three dimensions. The methods under scrutiny fall into two major categories: the substructuring type methods and the Neumann-Neumann type methods. The basic framework used for analysis is the parallel subspace correction method or additive Schwarz method, and other technical tools include local-global and global-local techniques. The analyses for both two and three dimensional cases are carried out simultaneously. Some internal relationships between various algorithms are observed and several new variants of the algorithms are also derived.

Book Domain Decomposition Methods in Science and Engineering XXVI

Download or read book Domain Decomposition Methods in Science and Engineering XXVI written by Susanne C. Brenner and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-03-15 with total page 778 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These are the proceedings of the 26th International Conference on Domain Decomposition Methods in Science and Engineering, which was hosted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong and held online in December 2020. Domain decomposition methods are iterative methods for solving the often very large systems of equations that arise when engineering problems are discretized, frequently using finite elements or other modern techniques. These methods are specifically designed to make effective use of massively parallel, high-performance computing systems. The book presents both theoretical and computational advances in this domain, reflecting the state of art in 2020.

This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 487 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With considerations such as complex-dimensional geometries and nonlinearity, the computational solution of partial differential systems has become so involved that it is important to automate decisions that have been normally left to the individual. This book covers such decisions: 1) mesh generation with links to the software generating the domain geometry, 2) solution accuracy and reliability with mesh selection linked to solution generation. This book is suited for mathematicians, computer scientists and engineers and is intended to encourage interdisciplinary interaction between the diverse groups.

Book DUNE The Distributed and Unified Numerics Environment

Download or read book DUNE The Distributed and Unified Numerics Environment written by Oliver Sander and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-12-07 with total page 616 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Distributed and Unified Numerics Environment (Dune) is a set of open-source C++ libraries for the implementation of finite element and finite volume methods. Over the last 15 years it has become one of the most commonly used libraries for the implementation of new, efficient simulation methods in science and engineering. Describing the main Dune libraries in detail, this book covers access to core features like grids, shape functions, and linear algebra, but also higher-level topics like function space bases and assemblers. It includes extensive information on programmer interfaces, together with a wealth of completed examples that illustrate how these interfaces are used in practice. After having read the book, readers will be prepared to write their own advanced finite element simulators, tapping the power of Dune to do so.
