Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You get information needed to evaluate a reservoir, determine the particular requirements of the job, and design a storage facility that will operate at its full potential. Underground Gas Storage Facilities combines background information with a systematic approach for examining a specific reservoir to determine the most appropriate day-to-day method of operation. It presents a thorough discussion of topics such as estimating customer requirements, types of storage, sizing of surface facilities, and estimating deliverability. Of particular interest is the section on the economics of storage design, which examines the specific cost factors involved and presents examples to determine an economically optimum design. - Information and technical tools to evaluate a reservoir - Determine the particular requirements of the job at hand - Design a storage facility that will operate at its full potential

Book Natural Gas Underground Storage

Download or read book Natural Gas Underground Storage written by Mehmet Rasin Tek and published by PennWell Books. This book was released on 1996 with total page 464 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inventory and deliverability are two of the main attributes in underground storage of natural gas. This three-part practical text presents the state of present technology for design and performance analysis.

Book Underground Storage of Natural Gas

Download or read book Underground Storage of Natural Gas written by M.R. Tek and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 451 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the proceedings of NATO Advanced Study Institute, 'Underground Storage of Natural Gas - Theory and Practice', which was held at The Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey during 2-10 May 1988. Underground storage is the process which effectively balances a variable demand market with a desirably constant supply provided by pipelines. Storage reservoirs are the unique warehouses designed and developed to provide a ready supply of natural gas in response to high, peak demands during cold weather. The natural' gas is injected into the underground storage environment when the market demand falls below the supply available from the pipeline. It is withdrawn from the storage reservoir to supplement the steady supply provided by the pipelines whenever the demand exceeds the supply. The overall wellbeing of the entire western world in general and of the NATO member count ries in particular depend critically upon having sufficient energy resources. Of over 80 quad Btus of energy consumed each year in the western world, about 30~ comes from natural gas, a figure only exceeded by oil. The technology related to supply and demand of natural gas has been in the focus of long range energy planning during the last decade in Western Europe. In view of recent developments related to natural gas in Europe and Turkey, an "Advanced Study Institute" programme in Turkey on underground storage of natural gas was deemed particularly relevant and timely.

Book Prospects for Managed Underground Storage of Recoverable Water

Download or read book Prospects for Managed Underground Storage of Recoverable Water written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2008-01-07 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Growing demands for water in many parts of the nation are fueling the search for new approaches to sustainable water management, including how best to store water. Society has historically relied on dams and reservoirs, but problems such as high evaporation rates and a lack of suitable land for dam construction are driving interest in the prospect of storing water underground. Managed underground storage should be considered a valuable tool in a water manager's portfolio, although it poses its own unique challenges that need to be addressed through research and regulatory measures.

Book Hydrogen the Post oil Fuel

Download or read book Hydrogen the Post oil Fuel written by Edouard Freund and published by Editions TECHNIP. This book was released on 2013 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hydrogen—is it the energy vector for the future, or on the contrary, limited for many more decades, possibly even until the end of the century, to its current applications in the field of chemistry and refining? Advocates of the hydrogen civilization and the skeptics, even the declared opponents, are deeply divided over this issue. For the first, following a technological revolution, hydrogen would play a universal role alongside electricity in transport, leading to radical elimination of CO2 emissions. For the second, hydrogen will remain restricted to its current applications due to the insoluble problems inherent in its generalized use, especially in transport.

Book Advances and Technology Development in Greenhouse Gases Emission Capture and Conversion

Download or read book Advances and Technology Development in Greenhouse Gases Emission Capture and Conversion written by Mohammad Reza Rahimpour and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2024-07-17 with total page 556 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advances and Technology Development in Greenhouse Gases: Emission, Capture and Conversion is a comprehensive seven-volume set of books that discusses the composition and properties of greenhouse gases, and introduces different sources of greenhouse gases emission and the relation between greenhouse gases and global warming. The comprehensive and detailed presentation of common technologies as well as novel research related to all aspects of greenhouse gases makes this work an indispensable encyclopedic resource for researchers in academia and industry.Volume 3 titled Greenhouse Gases Storage and Transportation investigates in detail the methods of storage and transportation, their current status, novel strategies, and the conventional challenges. The book consists of four sections, the first three of which include various strategies employed in the storage and transportation of the major greenhouse gases (GHGs), namely carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. Each section addresses recent advances, new concepts, and the economic assessment of storage and transportation facilities. Section 4 surveys the challenges that storage and transportation of GHGs may face and delves into the major problems of the pipelines that are employed for the transportation of the materials - Introduces different technologies for carbon storage and transportation - Describes various methane storage and transportation technologies - Discusses challenges of GHGs' transportation
