Book Never Sorry Ever Jolly

Download or read book Never Sorry Ever Jolly written by Autumn Cornwell and published by . This book was released on 2018-02 with total page 402 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When homeschooler Collin Uttley moves to Southern California, he joins a church youth group out of sheer desperation for a social life -- despite being a total atheist. To fit in with the rest of the highschoolers and to increase his odds of scoring a girlfriend, he pretends to be a "believer" and attends every single group activity -- even blindfold dodge ball. His tenacity soon pays off when he meets the girl of his dreams, Shelby Wanderal, who shares his enthusiasm for vintage clothing and swing dancing. When Collin finds out Shelby's going on a summer outreach trip to help refugees on the Thailand-Burma border, he joins the team, thinking it's the perfect opportunity to win her over. However, once in Thailand, things don't go as smoothly as Collin anticipates. A couple of his teammates don't quite buy his "born again" act and one of them -- Twain Abernathy -- even sets out to win Shelby for himself. And it just gets worse when the team enters their first refugee camp and the team leaders are abruptly detained as suspected "drug smugglers" by the border patrol! The highschoolers are then left under the supervision of their zany Thai guide, Jongchit, who convinces them to cross the border into Burma to help the ethnic minorities in the IDP (internally displaced people) camps. The whole team is impacted by the joy and bravery of the IDPs who live inconstant danger of extermination by the Burmese dictatorship. To his surprise, Collin discovers a passion for social justice -- and realizes that there are way bigger issues in life than scoring a girlfriend. However, that doesn't stop him from overreacting when he learns of Shelby and Twain's burgeoning romance. His subsequent error of judgment endangers not only his life -- but the lives of everyone on the border. And it literally takes a miracle to restore what was destroyed -- a miracle which forces Collin to rethink his beliefs about God, spirituality, destiny -- and just what true love really looks like.

Twenty-nine-year-old Niki Randhawa has always made practical decisions. Despite her love for music and art, she became an analyst for the stability. She's always stuck close to home, in case her family needed her. And she's always dated guys that seem good on paper, rather than the ones who give her butterflies. When she's laid off, Niki realizes that practical hasn't exactly paid off for her. So for the first time ever, she throws caution to the wind and books a last-minute flight for her friend Diya’s wedding. Niki arrives in India just in time to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, where she meets London musician Sameer Mukherji. Maybe it's the splendor of Mumbai or the magic of the holiday season, but Niki is immediately drawn to Sam. At the wedding, the champagne flows and their flirtatious banter makes it clear that the attraction is mutual. When Niki and Sam join Diya, her husband and their friends on a group honeymoon, their connection grows deeper. Free-spirited Sam helps Niki get in touch with her passionate and creative side, and with her Indian roots. When she gets a new job offer back home, Niki must decide what she wants out of the next chapter of her life—to cling to the straight and narrow like always, or to take a leap of faith and live the kind of bold life the old Niki never would have dreamed of.

Book excerpt: For turkey hunters the arrival of spring is anxiously anticipated. Redbud and dogwood blossoms color winter-weary woods and thunderous wild turkey gobbles greet the dawn. In all of hunting, there is nothing quite like the relationship between a turkey gobbler and a turkey hunter. It's a connection that's difficult to explain and nearly impossible to understand, unless you're a turkey hunter. Author, Ron Jolly, has spent nearly six decades hunting wild turkeys with gun and camera, developing a unique perspective on the relationship and the passion that drives turkey hunters. Memories of Spring is a collection of stories written about memorable turkeys, people and experiences that shaped the author and molded him into one of America's most respected turkey hunting experts. Read the inspiring story of a hunter who rises above his physical limitations to be successful, then types his version of the story using a pencil held in his teeth. The book features tales of gobblers that earned nicknames like Devil Turkey, Rude Robert and Pencil Beard. Learn the difference between Character Turkeys and Grudge Turkeys, those frustratingly wary gobblers that achieve such lofty status by humiliating hunters. Tes Randle Jolly's award winning photography illustrates Memories of Spring, capturing the essence and beauty of the wild turkey, complimenting the author's work in this sure-to-be classic book. About The Author Louisiana born, Ron Jolly's passion for everything turkey began as a boy when his father taught him the do's and don'ts of hunting wild turkeys. Since those early years he has traveled the country hunting, videoing and photographing them. He produced 20 feature turkey hunting videos from hunts in over 20 states. In 1988 Jolly became the producer for The Truth Video Series by Primos with credits for The Truth About Spring Turkey Hunting, Volumes 2-8. It was during those years Jolly first began sharing his turkey hunting passion, knowledge and expertise through writing. A master storyteller, his award winning articles appear in major outdoor and hunting publications in print and online. Jolly's entertaining writing style puts his readers right alongside him on hunts to experience the thrills, frustrations, successes and failures. The author's deep love and respect for America's grand bird and ability to spin a memorable hunting tale ensure Memories of Spring will be an entertaining and thoughtful read. Recently, the author was awarded the high honor of induction into the National Wild Turkey Federations's Grand National Hall of Fame. The February 15, 2020 ceremony will take place in Nashville, TN during the annual NWTF Convention.
