This book was released on 1980 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Clark's Creek Watershed Project Site I dam consists of an earth dam with a service spillway pipe passing through the embankment and an excavated auxiliary spillway passing around the eastern end of the dam. The dam consists of a compacted earth embankment which is 46 feet high, has a crest length of 1250 feet and a crest width of 16 feet. The upstream slope is 1 vertical on 3 horizontal with a 10 foot wide berm near the base of the slope. The downstream slope is 1 vertical on 2.5 horizontal. The crest and exposed slopes are covered with grass and crownvetch. An earth cutoff trench of varying depth and width keys the embankment into the foundation soils. The examination of documents and visual inspection of the Clark's Creek Site 1 Dam did not reveal conditions which constitute a hazard to human life or property. The total discharge capacity of the spillways is adequate to impound and safely discharge the floodwaters resulting from the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF).

This book was released on 1980 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The dam is located on Brixius Creek, a tributary of the Susquehanna River, approximately 1/2 mile north of Union, NY. The examination of documents and visual inspection of the Site 2 Dam and appurtenant structures did not reveal conditions which constitute a hazard to human life or property. The discharge capacity of the spillways is adequate for the PMF (Probable Maximum Flood). However the following remedial actions must be completed within 1 year from notification to the owner: (1) Eliminate the pedestrian traffic on the embankment and auxiliary spillway, backfill all depressions and reseed these areas; (2) repair the depressions on the upstream slope in the vicinity of the riser and beyond the downstream toe of the dam; (3) Remove the parking area from the auxiliary spillway channel and reseed the affected area; (4) Remove the vegetation from the inlet and outlet of the auxiliary spillway, and the downstream channel; (5) Investigate the conditions of the reservoir drain and restore to operational status, if required; (6) Repair the erosion or the Taft Road embankment and clean out the sediment within the 6 feet diameter highway culvert; and (7) provide a program of periodic inspection and maintenance of the dam and appurtenances, including yearly operation and lubrication of the reservoir drain system.

Book National Dam Safety Program Norwich Water Works Dam Number 1 Inventory Number NY 347 Susquehanna River Basin Chenango County New York Phase I Inspection Report

Download or read book National Dam Safety Program Norwich Water Works Dam Number 1 Inventory Number NY 347 Susquehanna River Basin Chenango County New York Phase I Inspection Report written by Hugh C. Flaherty and published by . This book was released on 1981 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report provides information and analysis on the physical condition of the dam as of the report date. Information and analysis are based on visual inspection of the dam by the performing organization. Examination of available documents and a visual inspection of the dam did not reveal conditions which constitute an immediate hazard to human life or property. However, the dam has some deficiencies that need to be evaluated and remedied. Using the Corps of Engineers' screening criteria for the initial review of spillway adequacy, it has been determined that the embankment would be overtopped by the outflow resulting from all storms exceeding 17 percent of the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF) when the flashboards are in place and the overtopping discharge from the embankment portion of Norwich Reservoir No. 2 Dam (NY 349) is included as an inflow hydrograph. Dam overtopping, the resulting erosion of the embankment and hence, dam breaching would cause water surface levels downstream to reach depths which would pose significant danger to residents. Therefore, the spillway is adjudged to be seriously inadequate and the dam is assessed as unsafe, nonemergency.

Book excerpt: Jessica Martin is not a nice girl. As Prom Queen and Captain of the cheer squad, she'd ruled her school mercilessly, looking down her nose at everyone she deemed unworthy. The most unworthy of them all? The "freak," Manson Reed: her favorite victim. But a lot changes after high school. A freak like him never should have ended up at the same Halloween party as her. He never should have been able to beat her at a game of Drink or Dare. He never should have been able to humiliate her in front of everyone. Losing the game means taking the dare: a dare to serve Manson for the entire night as his slave. It's a dare that Jessica's pride - and curiosity - won't allow her to refuse. What ensues is a dark game of pleasure and pain, fear and desire. Is it only a game? Only revenge? Only a dare? Or is it something more? The Dare is an 18+ erotic romance novella and a prequel to the Losers Duet. Reader discretion is strongly advised. This book contains graphic sexual scenes, intense scenes of BDSM, and strong language. A full content note can be found in the front matter of the book.

Book National Dam Safety Program Patterson Brixius Grey Creek Watershed Project Site 1 Inventory Number NY698 Susquehanna River Basin Broome County New York Phase I Inspection Report

Download or read book National Dam Safety Program Patterson Brixius Grey Creek Watershed Project Site 1 Inventory Number NY698 Susquehanna River Basin Broome County New York Phase I Inspection Report written by and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 101 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Site 1 Dam consists of a 1300 feet long homogeneous earth embankment with an auxiliary spillway located at the right end of the embankment in a cut section beyond the abutment of the embankment. The maximum height of the dam is 65 feet. The embankment has a crest width of 20 feet, an upstream slope of 1 vertical on 3 horizontal, and a downstream slope of 1 on 2.5. The auxiliary spillway is a vegetated earth channel, with a bottom width of 340 feet and side slopes of 1 on 3 (left slope) and 1 on 2 (right slope). The principal spillway is a rectangular concrete riser which extends above the upstream slope near the toe of slope. The riser is topped by a triangular trash rack, the sides of which form a drop inlet, which is utilized during high reservoir levels. Under low flow conditions, a rectangular low stage inlet, in the upstream face of the riser, controls the reservoir level. A 30 inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe controls the flow between the riser and the impact basin located at the toe of the dam. An 18 inch diameter pipe, with a manually operated slide gate, the controls of which are located atop the riser, serve as the reservoir drain system. The examination of documents and visual inspection of the Site 1 Dam and appurtenant structures did not reveal conditions which constitute a hazard to human life or property. The discharge capacity of the spillway is adequate for the PMF (Probable Maximum Flood).

Book National Dam Safety Program Little Choconut Watershed Site 2A Dam Inventory Number NY 720 Susquehanna River Basin Broome County New York Phase I Inspection Report

Download or read book National Dam Safety Program Little Choconut Watershed Site 2A Dam Inventory Number NY 720 Susquehanna River Basin Broome County New York Phase I Inspection Report written by Hugh C. Flaherty and published by . This book was released on 1981 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Little Choconut Watershed Site 2A Dam is one of eight floodwater retarding dams in the Little Choconut, Finch Hollow, and Trout Brook watersheds designed to reduce floodwater damages. The dam embankment is approximately 530 feet long, 33 feet high and has an upstream slope of 3 horizontal to 1 vertical and a downstream slope of 2.5 to 1. The principal spillway is a drop inlet structure consisting of a single stage reinforced concrete riser, a 24 inch diameter prestressed concrete cylinder pipe and a channel excavated into bedrock at the outlet of the conduit. The emergency spillway is a curved 80 foot wide channel with 3 to 1 side slopes cut into earth at the left abutment. Hydrologic/hydraulic analyses performed in accordance with the Corps of Engineers' Recommended Guidelines for Safety Inspection of Dams indicate that the principal spillway and the emergency spillway would pass 100 percent of the outflow from the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF) without overtopping the dam. Therefore, the combined spillway capacity is adjudged to be adequate.

Book National Dam Safety Program Lake Ludlow Club Dam Inventory Number N Y 350 Susquehanna River Basin Chenango County New York Phase I Inspection Report

Download or read book National Dam Safety Program Lake Ludlow Club Dam Inventory Number N Y 350 Susquehanna River Basin Chenango County New York Phase I Inspection Report written by Hugh C. Flaherty and published by . This book was released on 1981 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report provides information and analysis on the physical condition of the dam as of the report date. Information and analysis are based on visual inspection of the dam by the performing organization. Examination of available documents and visual inspections of the dam did not reveal conditions which constitute an immediate hazard to human life or property. However, the dam has some deficiencies that need to be evaluated and remedied. Using the Corps of Engineers' screening criteria for the initial review of spillway adequacy, it has been determined that the embankment would be overtopped by all storms exceeding 38 percent of the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF). Dam overtopping, the resulting erosion of the embankment and hence, dam breaching would cause water surface downstream to reach depths which would pose significant danger to residents. Therefore, the spillway is adjudged to be seriously inadequate and the dam is assessed as unsafe, nonemergency. The classification 'unsafe' applied to a dam because of a seriously inadequate spillway is not meant to connote the same degree of emergency as would be associated with an 'unsafe' classification applied for a structural deficiency. It does mean that there appears to be a serious deficiency in spillway capacity and if a severe storm were to occur, overtopping and failure of the dam could take place, significantly increasing the hazard to life downstream of the dam. (Author).

Book National Dam Safety Program Finch Hollow Watershed Project Site 2 Inventory Number 719 Susquehanna River Basin Broome County New York Phase I Inspection Report

Download or read book National Dam Safety Program Finch Hollow Watershed Project Site 2 Inventory Number 719 Susquehanna River Basin Broome County New York Phase I Inspection Report written by George Koch and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report provides information and analysis on the physical condition of the dam as of the report date. Information and analysis are based on visual inspection of the dam by the performing organization. The examination of documents and visual inspection of the Finch Hollow Site 2 Dam did not reveal conditions which constitute a hazard to human life or property. The total discharge capacity of the spillways is adequate to impound and safely discharge the floodwaters resulting from the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF). Several minor deficiencies were noted on this structure. Among these deficiencies were a small depression on the upstream slope near the riser, ponding of water in the bottom of the auxiliary spillway channel, and a substantial accumulation of debris around the intake of the principal spillway riser. These deficiencies should be corrected within 6 months of the date of notification of the owner. In addition, an emergency action plan for notification of downstream residents should be developed within 6 months. (Author).
