Now he continues his travels through the spirit world in this astonishing book, leading us into the heart of one of the greatest mysteries of existence. Dr. Wesselman's inspiring quest began with a dramatic encounter on the island of Hawaii. Though he had feared his connection to Nainoa, a kahuna initiate and fellow mystic traveler, would be severed when he moved to San Diego, Wesselman would continue to merge minds with Nainoa. Over the next five years, the true purpose of their profound yet cryptic contact took shape. Wesselman had gained access to some inner doorway, putting him in the presence of a transcendent life force and intelligence. On the threshold of a dazzling new understanding of nature, he was a shaman in training, an initiate into the sacred, secret healing powers of the spirit world. This remarkable book gives us an unprecedented glimpse into the origin and the destiny of our species. Hank Wesselman has brought back from his extraordinary travels an extraordinary message: the keys to personal power and to the healing of all humankind.

Those who remember anything usually just recall a flash of light or a faint sound or voice. But Eugene Braxton could remember almost everything after he nearly drowned in a lake at age fifteen, which followed years of lucid dreams, visions, and other strange encounters. He's been honing his skills as a mystic ever since, and he explores amazing experiences that he and others have had - everything from UFO sightings, probable abductions, different levels of consciousness, and more. Discover insights on the length of time between death and re-consciousness, what happens at the moment of death, why levitation is normal in the afterlife, and the changes your mind and spirit will undergo as you approach and pass through death. Get the forbidden knowledge and hard-to-find research you've been craving about near-death experiences, the afterlife, and the union of mysticism and science in America's Mystic Solves Near-Death Riddle.

Book Encounters with Infinity

Download or read book Encounters with Infinity written by Michael Van Laanen and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2002-02 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The original title of this manuscript was Pages - A Voyage to Infinity. It's kinda like Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass; a collection of poems with an underlying mystical theme. My dissertation is a kaleidoscope puzzle of images and thoughts and concepts and ideas taken from mysticism, science, logic, and mathematics. The end result, as the puzzle pieces are linked together, is a new portrait of Number. The reader is challenged to solve a conceptual picture puzzle using the chaotic scattering of puzzle pieces set forth in the thesis. Some of the pieces challenge established ideas. Some of the pieces are decoys leading to dead ends. Some are background. Others are transition pieces. And, there are pieces that give the reader glimpses of me, the writ er of this thesis. So, exact ly what is infinit y? As the pieces of the puzzle are put together a new concept of infinity emerges, a concept that may be of interest to the mystics, the philosopher, the quantum physicist, and mathematicians who are open to a new window through which to view reality.

Book Dialectics and the Sublime in Underhill s Mysticism

Download or read book Dialectics and the Sublime in Underhill s Mysticism written by Peter Chong-Beng Gan and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-04-29 with total page 251 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book represents a study of Evelyn Underhill’s premier work on mysticism, using Hegel’s dialectics and Kant’s theory of the sublime as interpretive tools. It especially focuses on two prominent features of Underhill’s text: the description of the mystical life as one permeated by an intense love between the mystic and infinite reality, and the detailed delineation of stages of mystical development. Given these two features, the text lends itself to a construction of a valuable discourse predicated on dialecticism, sublimity, and mysticism. The book also articulates a number of insights into the content and nature of the writings of Christian mystics.

Book Theo Monistic Mysticism

Download or read book Theo Monistic Mysticism written by M. Stoeber and published by Springer. This book was released on 1994-04-05 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In response to some of the current explanations of mystic phenomena, this book proposes an interpretive framework for understanding mysticism. It clarifies various kinds of mystical experiences, suggesting they are not wholly determined by subjective categories of interpretation, and illustrates how they can be synthesised in a theistic, mystic teleology. In reference to Ramanuja, Aurobinodo, Sankara, Eckhart, Ruusbroec, and Boehme, monistic experiences are understood to culminate in higher theistic realizations, to which other kinds of mysticism can also be related.

Book Religious Experience Revisited

Download or read book Religious Experience Revisited written by and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2016-09-07 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Religious Experience Revisited explores a dilemma which has haunted the study of religion since William James. Is religion rooted in experiences? Is religion rooted in expressions? How are experiences and expressions related? The contributors to this international and interdisciplinary compilation explore the possibilities and the impossibilities of a hermeneutics of religion. Combining theology and philosophy with biblical, cultural, historical and literary studies, they examine how religious experiences and religious expressions have been entangled in the past and in the present. These entanglements call for interdisciplinary conversations in which those who study experiences and those who study expressions can learn from each other in order to carve out important and instructive spaces for the study of religion.

In the preface, author Bill Cooke notes that his work is intended "for freethinkers in the broadest sense of the word: people who like to think for themselves and not according to the preplanned routes set by others." This dictionary will serve as a guide for all those people striving to lead fulfilling, morally responsible lives without religious belief. Readers are offered a wide range of concepts, from ancient, well-known notions such as God, free will, and evil to new concepts such as "eupraxsophy." Also included are current "buzzwords" that have some bearing on the freethought worldview such as "metrosexual." The names of many people whose lives or work reflect freethought principles form a major portion of the entries. Finally, a humanist calendar is included, on which events of interest to freethinkers are noted. This unique, accessible, and highly informative work will be a welcome addition to the libraries of open-minded people of all philosophic persuasions.

Book Mystifying Kabbalah

    Book Details:
  • Author : Boaz Huss
  • Publisher : Oxford University Press
  • Release : 2020-09-10
  • ISBN : 019008698X
  • Pages : 240 pages

Download or read book Mystifying Kabbalah written by Boaz Huss and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2020-09-10 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most scholars of Judaism take the term "Jewish mysticism" for granted, and do not engage in a critical discussion of the essentialist perceptions that underlie it. Mystifying Kabbalah studies the evolution of the concept of Jewish mysticism. It examines the major developments in the academic study of Jewish mysticism and its impact on modern Kabbalistic movements in the contexts of Jewish nationalism and New Age spirituality. Boaz Huss argues that Jewish mysticism is a modern discursive construct and that the identification of Kabbalah and Hasidism as forms of mysticism, which appeared for the first time in the nineteenth century and has become prevalent since the early twentieth, shaped the way in which Kabbalah and Hasidism are perceived and studied today. The notion of Jewish mysticism was established when western scholars accepted the modern idea that mysticism is a universal religious phenomenon of a direct experience of a divine or transcendent reality and applied it to Kabbalah and Hasidism. "Jewish mysticism" gradually became the defining category in the modern academic research of these topics. This book clarifies the historical, cultural, and political contexts that led to the identification of Kabbalah and Hasidism as Jewish mysticism, exposing the underlying ideological and theological presuppositions and revealing the impact of this "mystification" on contemporary forms of Kabbalah and Hasidism.
