Download or read book My Fingerpaint Masterpiece Coloring Book written by Sherrill S. Cannon and published by Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency. This book was released on 2023-02-09 with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever seen a “work of art” worth millions, which looks like something your child just brought home from school? The dual perspective of “Beauty Is in the Eye of the Beholder” and just a little bit of “The Emperor’s New Clothes” is evident in this clever artwork story of a child who paints a fingerpaint print in class and then loses it in the wind on the way home. Illustrated from the point of view of a child, whose identity is left to the imagination of the reader since all of the illustrations are what the child sees, the fingerpaint print is interpreted by official “judges” as well as by bystanders. Should people be influenced by what others see, or use their own self-esteem to make their own judgments? This coloring book version allows children to illustrate their own version of the book, and even to create a “masterpiece” of their own! This is the fourth rhyming children’s coloring book by this award-winning author, whose other bestselling books include David’s ADHD, My Little Angel, The Golden Rule, Mice & Spiders & Webs…Oh My!, Manner-Man, Gimme-Jimmy, The Magic Word, Peter and the Whimper-Whineys and Santa’s Birthday Gift.

But when Summer goes missing during her annual Halloween party and then an unscheduled post appears on her feed stating that she'll be dead within the next five minutes, those closest to Summer know something isn't quite right—or on-brand. Grace, Summer's camera-shy best friend; Adam, Summer's gamer ex-boyfriend; Laney, Summer's moody camp roommate; and Cora, an influencer wannabe, all decide to investigate. Download or read book Coloring into Existence written by Isabel Millán and published by NYU Press. This book was released on 2023-12-05 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Argues that queer picture books with main characters of color can disrupt structures of power in both literature and real life Coloring into Existence investigates the role of authors, illustrators, and independent publishers in producing alternative narratives that disrupt colonial, heteropatriarchal notions of childhood. These texts or characters unsettle the category of the child, and thus pave the way for broader understandings of childhood. Often unapologetically politically motivated, queer and trans of color picture books can serve as the basis for fantasizing about disruptions to structures of power, both within and outside literary worlds. Fusing literary criticism and close readings with historical analysis and interviews, Isabel Millán documents the emergence of a North American queer of color children’s literary archive. In doing so, she considers the sociopolitical circumstances out of which queer of color children’s literature emerged; how a queer and trans of color aesthetic translates to picture books; and how the acts of imagination and worldmaking inspired by picture books produce a realm of freedom, healing, and transformation for queer and trans of color children and adults. Coloring into Existence explores the curious ways that queer and trans of color publications “color outside the lines”—refusing to conform to industry standards, intermixing fiction with nonfiction, and mobilizing alternative modes of production and distribution to create new worlds.
