Download or read book Wind Tunnel Pressure Measuring Techniques written by D. S. Bynum and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The report was written to give those unacquainted with modern wind tunnel pressure measuring techniques and equipment a broad view of the topic and to provide sufficient references so that additional information may be easily obtained. The material covered is limited to direct pressure measurements, i.e., force per unit area, and does not present techniques that determine pressure through its relationship to other measured parameters. Transducers, signal conditioning, data recording equipment, and static and dynamic calibrations are described. (Author).
Download or read book Separated Flow Phenomena on a Slender Cone at Mach 5 written by Robert H. Feldhuhn and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 82 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An experimental investigation illustrating some separated flow phenomena associated with highly inclined circular cones was conducted at a nominal Mach number of 5 and at nominal free stream Reynolds numbers per foot of 4,800,000. Surface static pressure measurements, Pitot pressure surveys, schlieren photographs, vapor screen photographs, and surface sublimation measurements were obtained on a sharp 5 degree semi-vertex angle cone at angles of attack up to 40 degrees. The static pressure distribution along the most leeward meridian generator was found to be dependent upon the Reynolds number based upon the distance from the vertex of the cone. The vapor screen photographs at 40 degrees angle of attack indicate the existence of imbedded shock waves in the flow field on the leeward side of the cone. The Pitot tube surveys and the surface sublimation photographs indicate the existence of a region of attached flow near the leeward meridian plane. The surface sublimation photographs also indicate the possible existence of a secondary vortex. (Author).

Download or read book Implantable Sensors and Systems written by Guang-Zhong Yang and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-03-27 with total page 649 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Implantable sensing, whether used for transient or long-term monitoring of in vivo physiological, bio-electrical, bio-chemical and metabolic changes, is a rapidly advancing field of research and development. Underpinned by increasingly small, smart and energy efficient designs, they become an integral part of surgical prostheses or implants for both acute and chronic conditions, supporting optimised, context aware sensing, feedback, or stimulation with due consideration of system level impact. From sensor design, fabrication, on-node processing with application specific integrated circuits, to power optimisation, wireless data paths and security, this book provides a detailed explanation of both the theories and practical considerations of developing novel implantable sensors. Other topics covered by the book include sensor embodiment and flexible electronics, implantable optical sensors and power harvesting. Implantable Sensors and Systems – from Theory to Practice is an important reference for those working in the field of medical devices. The structure of the book is carefully prepared so that it can also be used as an introductory reference for those about to enter into this exciting research and developing field.
Download or read book How to Use and Upgrade to GM Gen III LS Series Powertrain Control Systems written by Mike Noonan and published by CarTech Inc. This book was released on 2013 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The General Motors G-Body is one of the manufacturer's most popular chassis, and includes cars such as Chevrolet Malibu, Monte Carlo, and El Camino; the Buick Regal, Grand National, and GNX; the Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme; the Pontiac Grand Prix, and more. This traditional and affordable front engine/rear-wheel-drive design lends itself to common upgrades and modifications for a wide range of high-performance applications, from drag racing to road racing. Many of the vehicles GM produced using this chassis were powered by V-8 engines, and others had popular turbocharged V-6 configurations. Some of the special-edition vehicles were outfitted with exclusive performance upgrades, which can be easily adapted to other G-Body vehicles. Knowing which vehicles were equipped with which options, and how to best incorporate all the best-possible equipment is thoroughly covered in this book. A solid collection of upgrades including brakes, suspension, and the installation of GMs most popular modern engine-the LS-Series V-8-are all covered in great detail. The aftermarket support for this chassis is huge, and the interchangeability and affordability are a big reason for its popularity. It's the last mass-produced V-8/rear-drive chassis that enthusiasts can afford and readily modify. There is also great information for use when shopping for a G-Body, including what areas to be aware of or check for possible corrosion, what options to look for and what should be avoided. No other book on the performance aspects of a GM G-Body has been published until now, and this book will serve as the bible to G-Body enthusiasts for years to come.
