Book Applied Multidimensional Systems Theory

Download or read book Applied Multidimensional Systems Theory written by Nirmal K. Bose and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-12-24 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revised and updated, this concise new edition of the pioneering book on multidimensional signal processing is ideal for a new generation of students. Multidimensional systems or m-D systems are the necessary mathematical background for modern digital image processing with applications in biomedicine, X-ray technology and satellite communications. Serving as a firm basis for graduate engineering students and researchers seeking applications in mathematical theories, this edition eschews detailed mathematical theory not useful to students. Presentation of the theory has been revised to make it more readable for students, and introduce some new topics that are emerging as multidimensional DSP topics in the interdisciplinary fields of image processing. New topics include Groebner bases, wavelets, and filter banks.

Book Multidimensional Systems Theory

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Approach your problem from the right end It isn't that they can't see the solution. and begin with the answers. It is that they can't see the problem. Then one day, perhaps you will find the final question. G. K. Chesterton. The Scandal of Father Brown The point of a Pin. The Hermit Clad in Crane Feathers in R. van Gulik's The Chinese Maze Murders. Growing specialization and diversification have brought a host of mono graphs and textbooks on increasingly specialized topics. However, the "tree" of knowledge of mathematics and related fields does not grow only by putting forth new branches. It also happens, quite often in fact, that branches which were thought to be completely disparate are suddenly seen to be related. Further, the kind and level of sophistication of mathematics applied in various sciences has changed drastically in recent years: measure theory is used (non-trivially) in regional and theoretical economics; algebraic geometry interacts with physics; the Minkowsky lemma, coding theory and the structure of water meet one another in packing and covering theory; quantum fields, crystal defects and mathematical programming profit from homotopy theory; Lie algebras are relevant to filtering; and prediction and electrical engineering can use Stein spaces. And in addi tion to this there are such new emerging subdisciplines as "experimental mathematical", "CFD", "completely integrable systems", "chaos, synergetics and large-scale order" , which are almost impossible to fit into the existing classification schemes.

Download or read book Multidimensional Analysis written by George W. Hart and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book deals with the mathematical properties of dimensioned quantities, such as length, mass, voltage, and viscosity. Beginning with a careful examination of how one expresses the numerical results of a measurement and uses these results in subsequent manipulations, the author rigorously constructs the notion of dimensioned numbers and discusses their algebraic structure. The result is a unification of linear algebra and traditional dimensional analysis that can be extended from the scalars to which the traditional analysis is perforce restricted to multidimensional vectors of the sort frequently encountered in engineering, systems theory, economics, and other applications.

Book Multidimensional Signals and Systems

Download or read book Multidimensional Signals and Systems written by Rudolf Rabenstein and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-07-24 with total page 514 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers the theory of multidimensional signals and systems and related practical aspects. It extends the properties and mathematical tools of one-dimensional signals and systems to multiple dimensions and covers relevant timeless topics including multidimensional transformations, multidimensional sampling as well as discrete multidimensional systems. A special emphasis is placed on physical systems described by partial differential equations, the construction of suitable integral transformations and the implementation of the corresponding discrete-time algorithms. To this end, signal spaces and functional transformations are introduced at a mathematical level provided by undergraduate programs in engineering and science. The presentation takes a comprehensive, illustrative and educational approach without reference to a particular application field. Instead, the book builds a solid theoretical concept of multidimensional signals and systems and shows the application to various problems relevant for practical scenarios.

Book Topics in Multidimensional Linear Systems Theory

Download or read book Topics in Multidimensional Linear Systems Theory written by Eva Zerz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2000-08-16 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The past few decades have witnessed an increasing interest in the field of multidimensional systems theory. This is concerned with systems whose trajectories depend not on one single variable (usually interpreted as time or frequency), but on several independent variables, such as the coordinates of an image. The behavioural approach introduced by J. C. Willems provides a particularly suitable framework for developing a linear systems theory in several variables. The book deals with the classical concepts of autonomy, controllability, observability, and stabilizability. All the tests and criteria given are constructive in the sense that algorithmic versions may be implemented in modern computer algebra systems, using Gröbner basis techniques. There is a close connection between multidimensional systems theory and robust control of one-dimensional systems with several uncertain parameters. The central link consists in the basic tool of linear fractional transformations. The book concludes with examples from the theory of electrical networks.

Book Constraint Theory

Download or read book Constraint Theory written by George Friedman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-04-20 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At first glance, this might appear to be a book on mathematics, but it is really intended for the practical engineer who wishes to gain greater control of the multidimensional mathematical models which are increasingly an important part of his environment. Another feature of the book is that it attempts to balance left- and right-brain perceptions; the author has noticed that many graph theory books are disturbingly light on actual topological pictures of their material. One thing that this book is not is a depiction of the Theory of Constraints, as defined by Eliyahu Goldratt in the 1980’s. Constraint Theory was originally defined by the author in his PhD dissertation in 1967 and subsequent papers written over the following decade. It strives to employ more of a mathematical foundation to complexity than the Theory of Constraints. This merely attempts to differentiate this book from Goldratt’s work, not demean his efforts. After all, the main body of work in the field of 1 Systems Engineering is still largely qualitative .

Book Multidimensional Quantum Dynamics

Download or read book Multidimensional Quantum Dynamics written by Hans-Dieter Meyer and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2009-05-26 with total page 447 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first book dedicated to this new and powerful computational method begins with a comprehensive description of MCTDH and its theoretical background.
