Se torna urgente la transformación del sistema educativo, para justificar su existencia. Es evidente la inexistencia de un modelo educativo nacional que de solución a los problemas sociales actuales, proponiendo a los docentes iniciar con la transformación para redirigir a nuestra sociedad hacia otro destino.

Las consecuencias de estos cambios se han traducido en una menor protección social para los trabajadores, temporalidad laboral y precariedad, aumento del desempleo, de la exclusión social, y en la reducción de herramientas legales y sindicales disponibles que amparen al trabajador. Todo ello constituye un retroceso que trunca la perspectiva de mejora continua que había funcionado durante la gran parte del siglo XX y que ahora configuran un futuro más incierto. Todo ello afecta económica, personal y emocionalmente al trabajador y a la sociedad en su conjunto. Como profesionales dedicados al campo educativo y social, hemos creído importante abordar algunos aspectos que permitan comprender la actual situación del empleo, ya que es el elemento más vertebrador de las vidas de las personas en la sociedad actual.
