Download or read book Evoluci n y complejidad written by Jordi Bascompte Sacrets and published by Universitat de València. This book was released on 2012-07 with total page 199 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What would happen if you had a child and left him or her unattended without care or attention for a day? How about a couple of weeks? Even worse, how about several months or years? I know, it's almost too cruel to think about. As kids, we're in full connection with the child inside of us. We run, we play, we chase after things that we enjoy and love. We may not realize it, but we're deeply connected to who we are and what we want. As we grow older, however, we lose this connection and leave ourselves unattended for much too long. We are introduced to words, and words have narrow meanings. Time and time again we've been labeled by our peers and parents through the use of these words. This has happened for so long that we act as if we're programmed to follow them. In short, we lose sight of who we really are and what we really want. This book serves as an invitation to a journey of self-discovery. My aim is that my readers will be able to: Disassociate from labels others have placed on them that are hindering their journey of self-exploration. Stop reliving negative karmic cycles and disassociate from past experiences. Learn about their personal VITALS and preferences in the human hierarchy of needs. Find who they are and what they want in every area of their lives through 200 carefully designed questions. Finally, reconnect with themselves and strengthen their sense of self. Welcome to Self Discovery Journal.
Download or read book Transport in Plants I written by M.H. Zimmermann and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 548 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When WILHELM RUHLAND developed his plan for an Encyclopedia of Plant Physiol ogy more than three decades ago, biology could still be conveniently subdivided into classical areas. Even within plant physiology, subdivisions were not too difficult to make, and general principles could be covered sufficiently in the two introductory volumes of the Encyclopedia on the physical and chemical basis of cell biology. But the situation changed rapidly even during the 12-year publication period of the Encyclopedia (1955-1967). The new molecular direction of genetics and structural research on biopolymers had an integrating effect on all other biological fields, including plant physiology, and it became increasingly difficult to keep previously distinct areas separated. RUHLAND'S overall plan included 18 volumes and about 22,000 pages. It covered the entire field of plant physiology, in most cases from the very beginning. But, as each volume appeared, it was clear that its content would soon be outdated.

Download or read book The Fossil Trail written by Ian Tattersall and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1995 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The Fossil Trail, Ian Tattersall, the head of the Anthropology Department at the American Museum of Natural History, takes us on a sweeping tour of the study of human evolution, offering a colorful history of fossil discoveries and a revealing insider's look at how these finds have been interpreted - and misinterpreted - through time. All the major figures and discoveries are here. We meet Lamarck and Cuvier and Darwin (we learn that Darwin's theory of evolution, though a bombshell, was very congenial to a Victorian ethos of progress), right up to modern theorists such as Niles Eldredge and Stephen Jay Gould.

This book was released on 2018-10-06 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you are tired of walking on eggshells through life because of your anxiety... then keep reading. I know what it's like to miss out on opportunities because of the risk of embarrassing yourself. I know how annoying it is to have your extrovert friends tell you to 'loosen up and get another drink'. And I definitely know what it's like to hate yourself for being different from everyone else. A few years ago, I was severely depressed and needed a way out. In search for answers I turned to self-help. Not only were most books on the topic too preachy and full of woo-woo, they didn't suggest rock-solid, actionable things you must do to get ahead as a shy introvert. However, my search continued, and, in time, it yielded interesting findings- findings that I later applied to my life and transformed it as a result. Today, social anxiety is a thing of the past for me and depression is nothing but a transient mood. And guess what? Getting here is easier than you think, even if you've been told otherwise. This is why I have written Social Anxiety and Introverts: What Depressed Introverts Don't Know About Living Anxiety Free and Finding Happiness. As an Amazon Best-Selling author, I have written extensively about both social anxiety and introversion and have helped countless people get their lifes back. I have compiled my most transformational material into this 2 in 1 bundle book. Discover what a rottweiler taught me about facing my biggest fears. Discover how you can apply extrovert techniques for doing away with social tension once and for all! Put your mind at ease and finally let go of toxic thoughts (without having to meditate). Book 2: In the second book, Introvert Power: Accepting and Thriving on the Inner Power Available to Us Introverts, you will: See why everything you've been told about introversion is just plain wrong. Learn how to hack social environments as a social introvert (yes, you read that right!). Understand how your past may be affecting you and discover to use a rare spiritual practice to remedy this. Download or read book Social Intelligence for the Socially Awkward written by Gerald Confienza and published by . This book was released on 2018-12-05 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does landing your dream girl/guy and closing a million-dollar business deal have in common? They both require social intelligence, and massive amounts of it. It's no longer a secret- a person's ability to develop powerful relationships, communicate effectively, and say the right thing at the right moment is key if they want to make it in life. What does 'making it' entail? Well, you name it; it could mean finding a spouse, landing your dream job, closing a business deal- it could even getting your lazy friend to travel with you to South America. The problem resides in developing these skills when you're a natural introvert or have a severe case of social anxiety. I was one of these cases and struggled a lot because of it. During work meetings, everyone emphatically contributed ideas for improvement while I held back from chipping in afraid no one would take me seriously... I could never get past small talk with the opposite sex. I simply lacked the social fluidity to transition plain interactions into meaningul conversations... In social events, approaching others felt like a nightmare. I was dazed and felt the need of a blueprint for knowing how to start a conversation and connect with others (which I didn't have)... I had to work hard on myself and push myself for many years to get past my social shortcomings and finally develop the thriving social life I enjoy today. However, it doesn't have to be the same for you. In Social Intelligence for the Socially Awkward, I have compiled the resources necessary to begin developing your social IQ today! In this book, you will: Discover genuine strategies for making genuine friends. Apply a simple trick used by the likes of public figures to never run out of things to say. Finally take control of your speech apparatus and communicate the way you've always wanted to. Discover secret covert influence techniques you can apply today to get your way in social scenarios. Discover a simple technique, used by the best stand-up comedians, to get out of their head and project themselves in front of crowds. Learn techniques used by dating coaches to communicate in a polarizing way to the opposite sex (and double your dating in the process). If you're ready to grow your social IQ and your social life like never before, click the 'add to cart' button and get your copy of this book today!

Download or read book Ten Rules for Strategic Innovators written by Vijay Govindarajan and published by Harvard Business Press. This book was released on 2005-12-01 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Even world-class companies, with powerful and proven business models, eventually discover limits to growth. That's what makes emerging high-growth industries so attractive. Although they lack a proven formula for making a profit, these industries represent huge opportunities for the companies that are fast enough and smart enough. But constructing tomorrow's businesses while simultaneously sustaining excellence in today's, demands a delicate balance. It is a quest fraught with contradiction and paradox. Until now, there has been little practical guidance. Based on an in-depth, multiyear research study of innovative initiatives at ten large corporations, Vijay Govindarajan and Chris Trimble identify three central challenges: forgetting yesterday's successful processes and practices; borrowing selected resources from the core business; and learning how the new business can succeed. The authors make recommendations regarding staffing, leadership roles, reporting relationships, process design, planning, performance assessment, incentives, cultural norms, and much more. Breakthrough growth opportunities can make or break companies and careers. Ten Rules for Strategic Innovators is every leader's guide to execution in unexplored territory.
