Her plan is simple: catch him in an act of wrongdoing and give the principal the evidence she needs to expel him. But as Erika finds herself increasingly entangled in a web of lies, moral dilemmas, and bad behavior (not to mention those pesky feelings), it quickly becomes clear that her path to Stanford won't be as clear-cut as she had hoped. Book Crossing My Jordan

Download or read book Crossing My Jordan written by P.J. Taylor and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2011-07-28 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My life begun hard, and it seemed to just become more and more difficult throughout the years. I once lived a life like J.C. Dougard and Elizabeth Smart, but instead of one sexual predator, I had many. They had families to go home to, where I had none, I was forgotten about years, and years ago and pretty much raised myself with only God's guidance since the age of thirteen. I've been exploited, trafficked, raped, held hostage, kidnapped and more! Then God stepped in, when death was almost beating at my door, He stepped in. Sometimes I feel as if my life wasn't planned by me, but by God. Once you read my story I'm sure you'll understand. You see all of my hopes, dreams, and plans for my life became sidetracked long ago, due to many factors, that took away so many of my plans, my dreams for the future. Through it all I've become an amazing woman. Able to stand tall and strong, finding my inspirations along the way, and praising God for all of His Angels, Saints, and Prophets who've come along and saved me, rescued me, carried me, and blessed my life so profoundly with their kind, gentle, caring ways. Do you view human beings as just people, or are you able to experience such a close relationship with God that you can view people as the little Gods they are? Aren't we all supposed to be reflections of Our Lord and Savior? Then why aren't you able to view those people for the Gifts they are? Or are you able to see yourself and others how God sees you? I hope you enjoy the journey of my life, my story, my testimony as much as I enjoyed writing it. My story is a story of tragedy, but yet it is also one full of inspiration, hope, strength, courage, family, and love. But mainly my story is about Life's Lesson's Learned. Enjoy! P.J. Taylor

Download or read book A Gypsy s Kiss written by Susan Griscom and published by Susan Griscom. This book was released on 2015-05-11 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A GYPSY'S KISS is a SILVER MEDAL WINNER in the Readers' Favorite Awards - Supernatural Romance Category An entertaining story of first love that is filled with sufficient mystery and drama to keep you turning the pages. A Gypsy's Kiss is a paranormal story that has its own flavor and characters with great interaction. Breena Cassidy is cursed with what could be one of the worst supernatural abilities imaginable, she has never had the luxury of falling in love. Hell, she’s never even held a guy’s hand. At only twenty-two years old, she’s just about given up on the whole love thing. After all, when you can see twelve hours of someone’s future by a simple touch, and they, in turn, can see what you see, well… relationships are sort of out of the question. Her gigs performing psychic readings at parties, and the occasional one-on-one private appointment are just about Breena’s only connection with people. No matter how much she might wish otherwise. Hawk Covington's hard body and skill have earned him a starting position on the Pioneer’s college hockey team. But it’s not his talent with a hockey stick that’s the most remarkable. His gorgeous two-colored eyes not only draw the attention of every female on campus, they also allow him to track people and objects. But when he suddenly finds himself stalked by a stranger, he seeks out the help of the rumored, “campus gypsy” for help. Despite his vow to stay single and play as many college women as he can while the fun lasts, Hawk can’t ignore his attraction to the lovely and spirited Breena. And she can’t get the hunky star hockey player out of her mind once a single touch of his hand reveals something utterly strange. Surrounded by mystery, they realize that fate has brought them together for a reason, but can they stay alive long enough to recognize the depth of their feelings for one another? ☆☆☆☆☆ 5 Stars "Susan Griscom has created a great supernatural romance in A Gypsy's Kiss. The main characters are well developed, especially Breena as she struggles to cope with her 'gift.' She is resourceful, though, and knows how to handle herself. Hawk is a good match for her and the chemistry between them is great. The plot line for both of them is a novel way to keep the two of them apart and ramp up the tension. I think this book will do very well because it is easy to get into and the characters are relatable. A good start to the series, and I look forward to reading more from this author." Now, Carissa shares with her hundreds of thousands of followers how cooking for yourself after a busy day of work can be just as exciting as relaxing with friends over cocktails and apps. Book Mom Me Mom

Download or read book Mom Me Mom written by Maya Angelou and published by Random House. This book was released on 2013-04-02 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • A moving memoir about the legendary author’s relationship with her own mother. Emma Watson’s Our Shared Shelf Book Club Pick! The story of Maya Angelou’s extraordinary life has been chronicled in her multiple bestselling autobiographies. But now, at last, the legendary author shares the deepest personal story of her life: her relationship with her mother. For the first time, Angelou reveals the triumphs and struggles of being the daughter of Vivian Baxter, an indomitable spirit whose petite size belied her larger-than-life presence—a presence absent during much of Angelou’s early life. When her marriage began to crumble, Vivian famously sent three-year-old Maya and her older brother away from their California home to live with their grandmother in Stamps, Arkansas. The subsequent feelings of abandonment stayed with Angelou for years, but their reunion, a decade later, began a story that has never before been told. In Mom & Me & Mom, Angelou dramatizes her years reconciling with the mother she preferred to simply call “Lady,” revealing the profound moments that shifted the balance of love and respect between them. Delving into one of her life’s most rich, rewarding, and fraught relationships, Mom & Me & Mom explores the healing and love that evolved between the two women over the course of their lives, the love that fostered Maya Angelou’s rise from immeasurable depths to reach impossible heights. Praise for Mom & Me & Mom “Mom & Me & Mom is delivered with Angelou’s trademark good humor and fierce optimism. If any resentments linger between these lines, if lives are partially revealed without all the bitter details exposed, well, that is part of Angelou’s forgiving design. As an account of reconciliation, this little book is just revealing enough, and pretty irresistible.”—The Washington Post “Moving . . . a remarkable portrait of two courageous souls.”—People “[The] latest, and most potent, of her serial autobiographies . . . [a] tough-minded, tenderhearted addition to Angelou’s spectacular canon.”—Elle “Mesmerizing . . . Angelou has a way with words that can still dazzle us, and with her mother as a subject, Angelou has a near-perfect muse and mystery woman.”—Essence
